What I Hoped To Do With MLB: Murder in Lyon

Hello, reader. I hope you enjoyed MLB: Murder in Lyon. There are a few things that I would like to elaborate on, which I couldn't mention earlier.

Firstly, I wanted Lila to be Fabio's killer, but then I thought that if I made her the killer, that would be all too predictable for the reader. So I thought, "Why not make the killer someone who isn't one of the initial suspects?" And Wayhem came to mind - although he wasn't directly intent on killing Fabio, he was twisted enough to do so to reach his goal.

Secondly, I know that, in the original show, Chloe has been having a pretty raw deal: she had a redemption arc in the works, and part of it did come to fruition, but just as things were improving for her, in the finale of Series 3, it all went up the spout with Miracle Queen. Later in Series 4, Zoe's introduction and appointment as Vesperia further pushed Chloe out of the spotlight. This not only wasted Chloe's potential as a character (which was a lot of potential), it also gained Zoe a lot of hate from fans for being 'bland' and a 'Mary-Sue'. Which is a pity, because I quite like her: she's a nice girl who is just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So, by making Chloe stand by Marinette and appointing her as Ascot, I hope I was able to give her a good enough chance at redemption in my fic. I also tried to make Zoe's character a little more interesting by making her support Chloe and later Marinette, and also by making her give the latter love advice in Chapter 10!

Additionally, I'm also aware that Adrien/Cat Noir hasn't had nearly enough focus as everyone has been hoping for. Yes, he may be one of the title characters (Ladybug and Cat Noir), but the episodes seem to focus only on Marinette and her life. That's been getting boring for us viewers - Marinette, Marinette, Marinette, and no Adrien. I didn't give this an awful lot of thought, but by making Fabio's killing about Adrien (indirectly, and not to paint him in a bad light), and also giving him some action from Chapters 15 to 17, hopefully I brought him some prominence. I also tried to reduce Marinette's stalker-ish tendencies and Ladybug's abrasiveness towards Cat Noir, although I wish I explored his thoughts some more.

One thing I didn't change, though, was Lila's behaviour: she's still that vindictive, compulsive, pathological liar who not only makes life difficult for Marinette, but also works for Hawk Moth by deliberately accepting his akumas. She was successful in turning almost everyone against our Marinette - for some time, that is - but she got her just desserts.

Well, that's all I've got to say. Let me know what you think in the reviews. After all, fanfiction is what we produce when we want more content. Thank you for reading:)

Bug out!
