Welcome everyone to chapter 4!

So they found out where Makayla is.

Uh oh

This is gonna go well, with everyone's reactions

Anyway I'm sorry for the little bit late update I've been very busy lately with projects and moving into a new place and all that but I will try to set reminders to update the story regularly. Speaking of said story...

I hope you enjoy and let's get right into this!

"She's in Alagaesia..."

Lauren received multiple looks of shock in response to her statement.

"Makayla's in Alagaesia…" Leo repeated numbly, eyes wide. "Different world… The world that's full of magic and dragons and stuff from fairytale books… That world?"

Lauren nodded solemnly and Leo collapsed, almost missing as he fell onto one of the couches. His head went to his hands and looked much like Jakob had moments before.

"My baby sister…" He mumbled miserably. "I got her back and now she's gone for the third time!"

"Leo, I'm sure she'll be fine." Piper tried. Leo didn't respond.

"If you look on the bright side: if Makayla is in Alagaesia then at least she won't have to worry about the monsters anymore." Percy tried, the only one who had been to Alagaesia. "After you guys defeated Tartarus, the hole between the worlds closed and the monsters couldn't get through anymore. And they won their war there so all their bad guys are gone too."

Leo still didn't move.

"And what about Amira and Murtagh? They know about Earth and demigods so they'll help if she runs into either of them. Besides, if anyone knows anything about moving between worlds it's Amira."

Leo actually looked up at Jason's comment.

"Amira. Amira..." He muttered something else in Spanish but no one understood his words.

"What?" Piper frowned. Leo's eyes widened.

"That's it!" He exclaimed and jumped up.

"That's what?"

"Jason I love you! Thank you!" The Latino exclaimed before running out of the Big House with the door slamming shut behind him. For a long moment, no one said anything, staring at the door in confusion. Then Ashlyn spoke.

"Who's Amira?"

Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω Ω

Leo ran across Camp Half-Blood, ignoring all the many looks he got, and plunged into the woods to follow the path made over time.

"Amira, Alagaesia, Amira, Alagaesia." He repeated to himelf over and over.

He stopped when he reached Bunker 9 and quickly summoned fire to his hand to open the stone door. He ran to one of his workbenches and dug through the drawers until he found what he was looking for.

Smiling, Leo flipped it open and pressed a small button.

==In Alagaesia==

Visarus, Amira, and Makayla flew for nearly half of an hour before finally landing in a small clearing just outside a large town. Amira slid down and Makayla followed before the silver dragon took off back into the air.

Throughout the whole time in the air, Makayla had clung to Amira like she was her lifeline. Riding on Visarus with Amira felt a lot more nerve-wracking than flying with Eragon on Saphira. Her legs were shaking slightly when she stood on the ground and Amira noticed and held her hand out to steady her new friend.

"Apologies, I neglected to mention the after-effects of flying the first few times." Amira apologized. "But worry not, the sensation will soon pass."

Makayla nodded in response and followed Amira over to where she saw Eragon and Arya sitting on a large blanket laid out on the grass. Eragon noticed them and waved them over with a smile.

"How are you feeling?" Eragon greeted as the two girls neared.

"My body feels sore and I am still tired despite my sleep. But I shall be alright." Amira answered.

"And you, Makayla? I see Amira found you some clothes." He noted as she handed Makayla a piece of bread. The redhead nodded her thanks.

"Besides the feeling that I stepped out of a play from thousands of years ago, I'm good. A bit disoriented still but I've been in worse situations." She replied with a shrug.

Makayla was still confused but she smiled anyway as she and the three Dragon Riders spoke and ate, enjoying the fact that she wasn't alone.

Mind drifting off, she thought of Leo and Jakob; she missed them both so much that her chest hurt. She was a sister to one and married to another; both were important relationships. It had been a bit more than a year since she defeated The Serpents and life had been quiet since. She had finally calmed down and had a good life with an amazing husband and two adorable kids.

She couldn't help but feel irritated as she realized that, as hard as she may try, she'll never get a normal life like regular mortals. She was a demigod; life didn't work like that for her kind.

Makayla was snapped from her thoughts by a ringing. She looked around confused by the sound. It sounded like... a cell phone? Her confusion only multiplied when she saw Amira pull a thin flip phone from her boot. Eragon and Arya also looked surprised, though they seemed more curious than confused. Amira however just opened the phone casually like she was answering a friend.

"I have been wondering when I would next hear from you." She answered with a smile. She paused as the person on the other line spoke. "Of course, I have been waiting. Did you not expect me to?"

Makayla stared flabbergasted. How the Hades did Amira have a phone, let alone service?! This was a completely different world than phones! Cell-service probably wouldn't be invented for the next couple thousand years so who on any earth could she be talking to? She was pretty sure the purple-haired Rider wasn't calling some friend across town.

"Leo! Calm yourself!" Amira suddenly exclaimed. "You need not to panic, she is here beside me."

Makayla's head snapped up. She was talking to Leo? The redhead shook her head as the situation began to make sense.

If Amira really had been sent to Earth and met the son of Hephaestus then, knowing her brother, Makayla knew that Leo would have completely fallen for Amira. Apparently, he did just that and not only decided to give her his number but also a phone as well.

Amira held said phone out to Makayla.

"Here. You may want to speak with him." She offered.

Makayla nodded and accepted the device.

"Before you say anything you better explain how the hell you are making this call or so help me, Leonardo Valdez, I will take your tool belt and never give it back." She threatened as a greeting. From the corner of her eye, she saw Amira cover a laugh with her hand.

"Kayla!" She heard Leo exclaim in relief. "Thank the gods you're okay! Holy hell, I've been so worried!"

"I'm alright," The younger sibling assured. "Just a bit jumbled up."

"Geez, thank gods! Right the phone. Uh, so Amira was sent here to Camp Half-Blood a few years ago and before she went back to her world I gave her a phone and told her I'd call if any of us ever needed her. I could only make it one way though so she can't use it to make calls, only get them." Her brother explained.

"That's actually pretty cool." Makayla couldn't stop the imp-grin from sliding across her lips. "But are you sure you didn't just want to keep tabs on your crush?"

She saw Amira blush and laughed silently as Eragon and Arya also noticed and teased their friend's pink cheeks.

"No!" Leo automatically denied. Makayla could almost hear the blush in his voice. "I just- I was worried about my sister! That's all."

"Oh c'mon."

"...Okay fine. Maybe I was wondering how Amira was doing. But seriously you really freaked us out, Kayla. Jakob and Ashlyn and I have been going crazy! The entire camp has been looking for you."

"I know I know and I'm sorry but it's not like I asked to come here." Makayla apologizes as guilt stabbed her heart. "I was just walking through the woods when I suddenly ran into Amira."

"You're right, I'm sorry. I shouldn't be so harsh. I just wanted to make sure you were alright." Leo's voice told her. "Lauren had the idea you would be in Alagaesia so we-"

"Hold on, Lauren knew I was here?" Makayla interrupted, confused. "My Lauren?"

"Yes, your Lauren. Me and Jake and everyone were talking then Percy said something about scrying and mentioned Eragon's name and bam! She had it all figured out. "

"Jakob. Oh gods I forgot about him." Makayla muttered, running a hand over her hair. "Um, h-how is he doing?"

"You forgot about the guy you're married to?" Leo's voice was teasing but he answered anyway. "He looked like he was in shock last I saw but he's fine. We all are, we're stressed."

"Holy Hades, I'm the worst wife ever- wait. What about Adam and Angel?" She asked quickly. Leo didn't respond and Makayla felt as her motherly instincts kicked in. "Leo, how are my children?!"

"Sorry, there was a fuzz in the connection for a sec." Her brother apologized. "But your kids are fine, don't worry. Piper and Jake are taking care of them. And you're not a horrible wife, this wasn't your fault. We'll figure out how to get you home I promise. But I gotta go now. I love you, Kayla!"

"Love you too. Tell Jake and the twins I'm okay." Makayla bid farewell to her brother as her heart ached.

"I will. And tell Amira bye for me!" Leo stuttered before quickly hanging up.

Makayla handed the phone back to Amira who gave a curious glance.

"So...?" The purple-haired Alagaesian urged, slipping the phone back into her boot.

"He just wanted to make sure I was here and I was okay," Makayla reported. "No one knew what had happened but a friend of mine guessed I was here."

"Who was that?" Eragon asked, Amira having briefly explained the phone while Makayla spoke with Leo.

"My brother," The demigod answered.

"Why did Leo say nothing of you before?" Amira then wondered, leaning against Visarus as the giant dragon curled up on the grass behind his Rider. Makayla held back a wince.

"Um, I'm not sure." She lied. "It had been a while since we last saw each other."

"Are you not close?" Arya wondered, taking a bite of an apple.

"No we are. Closer than most siblings actually. But after our mom died when we were little, he ran away. I stayed with a friend for a bit before I left to find him. I did end up finding him after a while at Camp Half-Blood but I guess that was after Amira. He- uh… he had probably just forgotten about me." Makayla explained vaguely.

Amira nodded. She knew the story of Leo's mother dying but she also knew how to read people pretty well and she could tell that Makayla was lying about Leo forgetting her. The young half-elf wanted to know why and more about Makayla's vague story.

"Oh. If he had not seen nor heard from you in a while then that is probably so." She instead agreed, having a feeling that the demigod wouldn't like the questions at that moment.

"Yeah." Makayla agreed.

"I have a question I would like to ask." Arya then said.

"Shoot."

If Arya and Eragon hadn't already met Percy then they would undoubtedly be confused about the way Makayla spoke but the two understood her well enough after spending so many days around the son of Poseidon.

"You asked about someone named Jakob." The elf-queen remembered. Makayla nodded. "But then you said you felt as though you were a bad wife and asked about children. Are you married and a mother at an age as young as yours?"

Makayla's right hand moved to fiddle with the silver band around her left ring finger: her wedding ring. She seemed a bit uncomfortable if not awkward by the question.

"Um... kinda. Yes, Jake and I are married but it was kinda a half-to situation." Makayla explained vaguely.

"What do you mean? Was it an arranged marriage?"

"No. We don't really have those where I'm from."

"I heard a camp mentioned. Are you from Camp Half-Blood? Or did you visit from the other camp in L.A?" Amira wondered, remembering how Nico had teased her over the city's name. Makayla nodded, impressed by her geography of Earth.

"Impressive. We live in Camp Jupiter but Jake and I were visiting our friends in Camp Half-Blood when I was brought here." Makayla explained. "And to finish answering your question Arya, my marriage with Jake... I'm not totally sure how it is around here but Jake and I uh, we had kids before we were married," Makayla confessed a little sheepishly. She saw the three Rider's eyes widen slightly and quickly continued. "But he was already going to propose anyway and so now we're married."

There was a rather drawn-out silence as none of the Riders or their dragons were sure how to respond to the demigod's confession before Amira noticed how uncomfortable Makayla was growing.

"What name was your child given?" She asked politely, curious about her friend's sister and wanting to break the silence.

"Children." Makayla corrected, smiling to herself as she thought of her two kids. "Adam and Angel: twin brother and sister. They barely turned ten months last week. Our friends love them too. They'll visit all the way across the country just to play with them for a few days."

"They sound sweet," Eragon noted with a small smile. Makayla nodded sadly. She missed her children enough to make her heart ache.

"Yeah. I just- I can't stand thinking of not being with them. I almost always have at least one of them with me..."

"Do not worry yourself, Makayla, we will find a way to get you home," Amira reassured with a smile. "If Percy and I were able to travel between worlds and return to our homelands then so shall you. You will see your children and your husband again. We must first find why and how you were brought here, however."

Makayla shook her head, arms crossed and her expression thoughtful.

"I have no idea. Everything seems so calm lately. There isn't any reason I can think of." She confessed

"As has been the same in Alagaesia. After Amira defeated Tartarus and was returned here by your gods, your monsters stopped coming to our world and we have lived in peace since." Eragon was stroking Saphira's scales as he talked.

"The Olympian gods offered me a choice after our quest was completed and I chose to return home to my homeland," Amira added, not saying how she had pledged herself to the primordial or died in the process. "So perhaps you have a task to complete as I had?"

"Remind me to ask you about that story later," Makayla said in slight awe, making herself a mental note.

Amira winked.
