This is an addition the the previous chapter. As mentioned, Aleera wrote a letter to Alexios weeks before, This is that letter...

My Dearest Alexios,

Much has changed since I have arrived on these islands. Everyday that passess my allies become more and more distant, and I fear that I can no longer be without you by my side. All my hopes for your sister have been relinquished. She and the rebel leader, Kyra, have grown too familiar with one another, and her actions have made her reckless, and dangerous. However, her relations haven't proven to be completely useless. It is my understanding that Kassandra has driven a wedge between the Rebel leader and her Spartan lover, and as a result, he and Cicero have grown closer. I have no doubt that Cicero can help deepen the wound Kyra left and encourage Thaletas to abandon her and her rebellion. I only hope that their attraction towards each other does not interfere with my plans or my future with Cicero.

You see, when I came upon your sister, I had no idea of the troubles she would cause me. But in truth, her anger is what I am counting on in order to begin the next phase of my plans. You have never given me cause not to trust you Alexios, and I pray that my cooperation has proven the same. I will require your support now more than ever and even more so, your protection. You see, Poldarkes has something that was stolen from me, and it is paramount that I retrieve it. What it is, I can not say, but understand that it's power exceeds that of the Isu Pyramid obtained by the cult.

In the days leading up to your arrival, I will stage a delivery to an Athenian Polemarches with a letter containing information about the rebellion. I will arrange to meet with Poldarkes, at the Temple of Apollo, only when he arrives it will be you waiting for him and not I. I know he doesn't trust you, but he fears you and therefore should have no problems cooperating. Lead him to my ship and my crew and I will act as allies, offering our assistance against Kassandra and Kyra's rebellion. I know this is risky, but it's the only chance I have to obtain what has been stolen from me.

There is one more thing I ask of you, Alexios. I will need to prolong your sister's attack as long as possible. Poldarkes is a stubborn man, and it will take some time to gain his trust. When you lead Poldarkes to my ship, make sure Kassandra sees. I need her to know of my betrayal, so I can use her anger against her as a distraction. Her mind will be too busy comprehending my deception, that she will not be able to fight.

I understand that I ask a lot of you, but believe me when I say that the reward will be worth the trouble.

~ A.
