Stuart entered the Champion room where Red has just healed up his team. Red smiled seeing Stuart coming.
"Hey Stuart!" called Red.
"Hi." said Stuart.
"So, are you here to challenge the Champion?" asked Red.
"Yes I am." answered Stuart.
"Congratulations on making it this far." said Red.
Stuart blushed a bit.
"Have you seen Blue?" asked Red.
"I beat him after losing my first try to Lorelei." answered Stuart.
"Wow, you beat Blue. That's amazing." replied Red.
"I wasn't sure I'd get this far." confessed Stuart.
"Why?" asked Red.
"I was behind you guys at every step." answered Stuart.
"You got to Viridian Gym before me." noted Red.
"That is true." mused Stuart.
"Well, it's time for your battle." said Red.
Stuart gulped worriedly.
"I'm ready." said Stuart.
"It'll be six on six. The winner is Champion." explained Red.
"I can do that." said Stuart.
Red smiled.
"I want you do your best." said Red.
"Don't worry, we will." said Stuart.
The trainers too their positions.
"You get the first move." noted Red.
"Okay." agreed Stuart.
"Go Scyther!" cried Red, sending out his first Pokémon.
"Go Ninetales!" cried Stuart, sending out his Pokémon.
"Beautiful Ninetales." said Red.
"That's a fierce looking Scyther." replied Stuart.
"Use Double Team!" ordered Red.
"Use Flamethrower!" ordered Stuart.
Scyther used Double Team causing Flamethrower to miss.
"Use Slash!" ordered Red.
"Use Flamethrower!" ordered Stuart.
Scyther hit Slash for critical damage while Ninetales took it out with Flamethrower.
"Good start." said Red.
Red recalled his Pokémon.
"But, it's not over yet." stated Red.
Red grabbed his next Poke Ball.
"Go Persian!" cried Red, sending out his second Pokémon.
Stuart had to think.
"I could switch to Poliwrath, but I might need Poliwrath against Charizard if I need to." thought Stuart.
Stuart nodded his head.
"I'm sticking with Ninetales!" declared Stuart.
"Fine by me." replied Red.
The battle resumed.
"Use Screech!" ordered Red.
"Use Tail Whip!" ordered Stuart.
Persian used Screech and Ninetales used Tail Whip.
"Use Slash!" ordered Red.
"Use Flamethrower!" ordered Stuart.
Persian hit Slash for critical damage and boosted by Screech. This took out Ninetales.
"Go Poliwrath!" cried Stuart, sending out his next Pokémon.
"Nice Poliwrath." said Red.
"Use Brick Break!" ordered Stuart.
"Use Shock Wave!" ordered Red.
Persian hit Shock Wave and Poliwrath hit Brick Break.
"How does Persian know Shock Wave?" asked Stuart surprised.
"The TM that I got from Lt. Surge." answered Red.
"That's bad." thought Stuart worried.
"Use Shock Wave!" ordered Red.
"Use Brick Break!" ordered Stuart.
Persian hit Shock Wave taking out Poliwrath.
"Go Beedrill!" cried Stuart, sending out his next Pokémon.
"Use Screech!" ordered Red.
"Use Focus Energy!" ordered Stuart.
Persian used Screech and Beedrill used Focus Energy.
"Use Slash!" ordered Red.
"Use Pin Missile!" ordered Stuart.
Persian hit with Slash which did extra damage due to Screech. However, it didn't do critical damage. Beedrill then hit Pin Missile for critical damage taking out Persian.
"Go Dodrio!" cried Red, sending out his third Pokemon.
Stuart recalled Beedrill.
"Go Golem!" cried Stuart, sending out his next Pokemon.
"Use Tri Attack!" ordered Stuart.
"Use Rollout!" ordered Red.
Dodrio hit Tri Attack and Golem hit Rollout.
"Use Tri Attack!" ordered Red.
Dodrio hit Tri Attack paralyzing Golem who was fully paralyzed.
"Use Steel Wing!" ordered Red.
"Use Rock Blast!" ordered Stuart.
Dodrio hit Steel Wing doing major damage while Golem was fully paralyzed.
"Use Steel Wing!" ordered Red.
"Use Rock Blast!" ordered Stuart.
Dodrio hit Steel Wing and Golem took Dodrio out with Rock Blast.
"Go Golbat!" cried Stuart, sending his next Pokémon out.
"Use Drill Peck!" ordered Red.
"Use Wing Attack!" ordered Stuart.
Dodrio hit Drill Peck and Golbat took Dodrio out with Wing Attack.
"Go Lapras!" cried Red, sending out his fourth Pokémon.
"I'm sticking with Golbat." said Stuart.
"Use Ice Beam!" ordered Stuart.
"Use Confuse Ray!" ordered Stuart.
Golbat used Confuse Ray and Lapras hurt its self in confusion.
"Use Ice Beam!" ordered Red.
"Use Poison Fang!" ordered Stuart.
Golbat hit Poison Fang badly poisoning Lapras who hurt its self in confusion.
"I need to take out Lapras. I have to risk it." thought Stuart.
Stuart recalled Golbat.
"Use Golem!" cried Stuart, sending out his Pokémon.
"Interesting." mused Red.
"Let's go." said Stuart.
"Use Surf!" ordered Red.
"Use Rock Blast!" ordered Stuart.
Lapras broke through confusion and took Golem out with Surf. Lapras was hurt by bad poison.
"Go Venusaur!" cried Stuart, sending his starter out.
"Use Ice Beam!" ordered Red.
"Use Razor Leaf!" ordered Stuart.
Venusaur hit Razor Leaf for critical damage taking out Lapras.
"Go Charizard!" cried Red, sending out his starter.
Stuart recalled Venusaur.
"Go Golbat!" cried Stuart, sending his Pokémon back out.
"Use Mega Punch!" ordered Red.
"Use Confuse Ray!" ordered Stuart.
Golbat used Confuse Ray and Charizard hurt its self in confusion. Needing Charizard, Red called it.
"Go Jolteon!" cried Red, sending out his Pokémon.
Stuart recalled Golbat.
"Go Beedrill!" cried Stuart, sending his Pokémon out.
"Use Thunder!" ordered Red.
"Use Pin Missile!" ordered Stuart.
Jolteon hit Thunder taking out Beedrill.
"Go Venusaur!" cried Stuart, sending his starter back out.
"Use Pin Missile!" ordered Red.
"Use Toxic!" ordered Stuart.
Jolteon hit Pin Missile while Venusaur used Toxic badly poisoning Jolteon.
"Use Pin Missile!" ordered Red.
"Use Razor Leaf!" ordered Stuart.
Jolteon hit Pin Missile while Venusaur got critical damage with Razor Leaf. Jolteon was hurt by poison.
"Use Pin Missile!" ordered Red.
"Use Razor Leaf!" ordered Stuart.
Jolteon hit Pin Missile while Venusaur got critical damage with Razor Leaf. Jolteon was taken out by poison.
"Go Charizard!" cried Red, sending his starter back out.
"Go Golbat!" cried Stuart, sending his Pokémon back out.
"Use Confuse Ray!" ordered Stuart.
"Use Mega Punch!" ordered Red.
Charizard hit Mega Punch taking out Golbat.
"Go Venusaur! I believe in you!" declared Stuart.
It was down to starter versus starter.
"Use Fire Blast!" ordered Charizard.
"Use Toxic!" ordered Stuart.
Charizard used Fire Blast, but it missed. Venusaur hit with Toxic badly poisoning Charizard.
"Use Fire Blast!" ordered Red.
"Use Growth!" ordered Stuart.
Charizard hit Fire Blast taking out Venusaur ending the battle.
"I lost." sighed Stuart.
The two trainers recalled their Pokémon.
"How are you doing?" asked Red.
"It hurts, but I'll be okay." answered Stuart.
"Glad to hear it." said Red.
"Like my mom said, I did my best and that's all that matters." replied Stuart.
"Good attitude." stated Red.
Red shrugged his shoulders.
"What are you going to do now?" asked Red.
"Go home and figure out what I'm doing next." answered Stuart.
Stuart extended his hand.
"Congratulations on being Champion." said Stuart.
"Congratulations on getting this far." said Red.
The two shook hands and Stuart headed home. He told his mother about his battles and noted Agatha remembered her. Stuart's mother was proud of how far he came noting he did better than both parents. A few days later, Stuart awoke in the morning and went down for breakfast.
"These waffles are good." said Stuart.
"Happy to hear it." replied Stuart's mom.
Stuart finished the waffle he was eating.
"I'm stuffed." groaned Stuart.
"So, what are you doing now?" asked Stuart's mother.
Stuart let out a long sigh.
"I don't know." admitted Stuart.
A knock came on the door.
"I'll get it." said Stuart's mother.
Stuart's mother answered the door.
"Hello Mrs. Oak. I brought that casserole dish back." said Daisy Oak.
"Thanks. I've heard Blue is becoming the new Viridian Gym Leader." noted Stuart's mother.
"And he won't shut up about it." sighed Daisy.
"How's your grandfather?" asked Stuart's mother.
"He's been super business researching the Johto region." answered Daisy.
Stuart's eyes perked up.
"Bye." said both women.
Stuart's mother returned to the kitchen.
"Mom...I'm headed to Johto." said Stuart.
A/N: That's how end the series. Stuart didn't beat Red, but he had a great run and did his best. I am not planning a sequel. I'm taking a little break from Pokémon for now to avoid burnout and I hope you check out my other works. Thank you.
