Here is where a bad day takes a turn for the worst. Not really much to say, but enjoy!
And so, the search for Granny was on. Sure there was another brief rumble that shook the trees, but Max, Manny, and the others continued searching for Sid's grandmother.
Max, Manny, Riolu, Sid, and Diego were walking around, calling for Granny. "Granny?" Riolu called out.
"Granny?" Diego called out. "Granny?" Manny also called out.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" Sid hollered.
"Come on, Granny! Where are ya?" Max called out.
"Here, Granny Granny Granny Granny. I have prunes for ya! Just the way you like them!" After he said that, Sid spat out the prunes in his mouth right into his open palm.
Of course, that grossed Max, Riolu, Diego, and Manny out. "Ew!" Riolu said as he looked away.
"Sid, that's disgusting!" Max exclaimed. The four of them just looked away.
"Ugh! I don't wanna see that. Wha...?" Manny opened his eyes and saw that Peaches, Kiara, Kovu, and Louis were heading over to the Falls. He didn't like that one bit. "Oh, no."
As the four of them walked over to the Falls, Louis was looking pretty worried. "What if your dad finds out? I'm not as tough as I look!" He told Peaches.
Kovu shook off his worry. "Hey, relax. It's just a place to hang out. Seriously, what could happen?"
Peaches shushed the two of them. "Do you hear that?" They walked a little further, and made it to the Falls. Down below, they saw a bunch of teen male mammals and Pokemon playing a game.
"Go long!" A teenage mammoth tossed a shell, and another mammoth caught it and twirled it around with his trunk. A teenage Wartortle popped out of his shell and gave the mammoth that caught him a thumbs-up...until the mammoth tossed him aside while he kept his smile.
"Hey, look! There's Ethan." Peaches looked at the mammoth that just tossed Wartortle with a smile.
Three female teenage mammoths gathered around Ethan. "Yeah, Ethan! You go boy!"
Someone else cheered out loud. Peaches, Kiara, Louis, and Kovu quickly hid behind the bushes to avoid being spotted, but they looked up a little to find out who hollered. Turns out it was a teenage Sawsbuck. "Yeah!" He jumped and slid down on the ice.
"See? Fun, no danger." Peaches assured Louis. The molehog still looked unsure.
The Sawsbuck was impressing the other teens with his sliding. "Woo-Hoo! Yeah! Check me out!" He jumped and did a trick over the tar-pits. However, he still got hit by some tar and crashed to the ground. The other teens cringed and held painful expressions on their faces.
Kiara winced once she saw what happened. "Ooh, that's gotta hurt."
Louis gave his friends a look that said 'What do you call that?' Kovu tried to assure them. "Oh, I'm sure he's fine."
"I'm completely NOT fine!" the Sawsbuck said. Peaches didn't say anything, she just gave a sheepish smile. Kovu just facepalmed himself and slowly shook his head.
Sawsbuck wobbled over to Ethan with a burn mark all over his face. "Ah, you did not just do that! That was crazy!" Just after Ethan gave Sawsbuck a fist-bump...Sawsbuck's antlers were reduced to ashes. "Nice." The teens cheered, and Sawsbuck happily walked away with a cough.
Peaches looked at Ethan with a lovestruck look. "Isn't he perfect?"
"Perfect? Yeah, I'd say that's such a strong word. Maybe adequate." Louis said. Then he gasped when something else popped out of the bushes next to them. It was Crash, Eddie, and also Pumbaa.
"Uh, who are we stalking again?" Pumbaa asked the possums on his head. "Is it Ethan? I bet it's Ethan." Crash said. "Oh, hey Wiener." Eddie greeted Louis.
"What are you guys doing here?" Kiara asked the three in annoyance.
Pumbaa looked over and smiled once he saw Kiara and Kovu. "Hello, Kiara. Manny told us to keep an eye on you guys." "But not to let you see us." Crash added. "Under any circumstances." Eddie finished. The possums saluted.
Timon popped his head out next to Pumbaa's. The meerkat had a dull look on his face. "I don't think you guys understand what it means to go undercover."
Pumbaa, Crash, and Eddie realized their mistake. "Oh." Pumbaa muttered. Crash and Eddie kept slapping each other in the face. "Stupid, stupid, stupid."
While the possums and the Hakuna Matata sank back into the bushes, the four teens talked to each other. "Okay, while you try to talk to Ethan, Kovu and I will be walking around Ice Age Valley." Kiara smiled at her husband, who smiled in return.
"We need to look for Sid's grandmother anyway. Got a message from Max saying that she wandered off." Kovu held up his Pride Team badge and showed the message that said 'Granny's lost in the valley, need help finding her'. After that, the two lions walked away, leaving Peaches and Louis alone.
Peaches waved to her lion friends and Louis did the same. Once they left, she took a deep breath. "Okay, I'm going for it. Do I look okay? Louis?"
Louis gave her an adorable smile. "Okay doesn't even begin to cover it."
"Aw, Louis, you're the greatest friend ever." Peaches rubbed his head with her trunk. Then she walked off to try and talk to Ethan.
Louis sighed. "That's me."
As she was walking, Peaches was trying to work on her flirting. "'Hi, Ethan. My name's Peaches. What's yours?'" But she realized what she just said was kinda stupid. "What am I doing? Okay, just be cool. Just be-" Peaches didn't see a patch of ice in her way, so she slipped and began to slide down the ice slide.
"Yo! That's intense!" Ethan exclaimed. The other teens watched on.
Peaches flew up a little before going through a bumpy part of the slide. "Ow! Ow! It hurts so much!" She looked over at the exit and she panicked once she saw she was heading right for the tar geysers...and right into Ethan. "No, no, no, no! NOOOOOO!" No one expected this: Peaches flew off the slide and landed on top of Ethan.
One of the female mammoths, Katie, recognized Peaches. "Gross. It's that weirdo who chills with possums."
Peaches and Ethan got up. The male mammoth groaned. "What just happened?" Peaches realized what happened. "Oh no! Ethan, I am so sorry! I-wow! You're even better looking up close. Momma." She quickly shook it off. "I mean-"
Still dazed, Ethan thought there was another mammoth that looked like Peaches. "You have a twin sister?"
What he thought was a twin sister...was actually Manny, and boy he didn't look happy. "Am I interrupting something?"
Both teenage mammoths gasped. "Dad!" They tried to pull away, but their tusks got caught up so they had a little trouble pulling apart.
Luckily, Manny helped...by pulling Ethan down and away. "You! Keep away from my daughter!" Then he turned to Peaches. "And you, you're grounded!" "But I didn't-" Peaches tried to explain. "Grounded!" But Manny was firm.
Peaches looked around and saw that the teenagers were muttering to themselves about the scene Manny was causing. Embarrassed, Peaches stormed away from the Falls. "Peaches!" Manny called, but she didn't stop. That made him sigh heavily.
As Peaches kept storming away, Manny followed after her. "Peaches! Come on, let's talk about this!"
"How could you embarrass me in front of my friends?" Peaches asked.
"You deliberately went where you weren't supposed to! And you even got Kiara to go with you!" Manny argued.
Peaches groaned in annoyance. "You can't control my life!"
"I'm trying to protect you! That's what fathers do!" Manny pointed out.
"Well..." Peaches stopped to glare at her dad. "I wish you weren't my father!" She kept walking, but what she said hit Manny pretty hard.
At that moment, Max, Riolu, Sid, Diego, Espurr, Norbert, Daggett, Ellie, Kate, Kovu, and Kiara came over and saw what happened.
"Now that was pretty harsh." Norbert said. Daggett shrugged it off. "Ah, I'm sure she's just upset, Norby."
"Still, she could use a friend." Kiara raced over to catch up with Peaches.
Even so, Ellie tried to say something to her. "Peaches, it's not the end of the world." However, just after she said that, everyone heard a big rumble and stopped what they were doing. They looked up and saw some birds flying away.
Sid thought the rumble came from him, so he patted his stomach. "Whoa! Excuse me." "Sid, I don't think that was you." Espurr said, still looking around.
Then a crack came between them. Manny, Max, Sid, Riolu, Diego, Norbert, Daggett, Espurr, and Kovu on one side. Ellie, Kate, Kiara, and Peaches on the other side.
"Uhh...What was that?" Kate asked. "I don't know." Max answered. Manny looked at his wife and started walking over to her. "Stay there. I'll come to you." Manny started to get closer and closer to Ellie. Just as he was about to reach the other side, the land started breaking with Manny's side falling down.
Both Manny and Ellie screamed and locked trunks in order to stay together. Sid screamed and clung to Diego. Norbert and Daggett hugged each other and screamed while Riolu held Espurr close to him.
"Ellie!" Manny yelled. "Manny!" Ellie yelled. They tried holding on, but the separating land forced them to let go. "No!" Kate yelped and reached out for Max.
Peaches and Kiara gasped and rushed over to the scene. "Dad!" Peaches worriedly called out. "Peaches, get back!" The ice Manny was standing on tilted and Manny and Max were sliding down a bit. They both tried to run and tried to get back up. "Hurry, you guys! Hurry!" Kiara called to the both of them.
"Max, hold on!" Riolu grabbed Max to stop him while Diego pushed Manny to the side. "Riolu, what are you doing!?" Max snapped.
"Diego!" Manny snapped as well. "You never would've made it!" Diego told him. They looked down at the long fall they would've taken...which was being filled with water.
Manny's side kept on crumbling and the mammoth couple looked at each other in sadness. Max and Kate did the same to each other. But Manny's side began to fall a little more. Kovu took another look at Ellie's side and gasped. "Kiara, behind you!"
The four of them looked to see a giant wall of land rising up from behind them. "What's happening?" Kiara gasped.
Manny frantically looked around him until his eyes spotted a bridge that wasn't too far to make. "Go to the land bridge! You'll be safe on the other side!"
"No, Kovu! No!" Kiara reached out for her husband.
"It'll be okay, Kiara! I'll meet you there!" Kovu assured.
As their side kept tilting down, some of them fell off the ice. But Diego kept his claws firm, Norbert and Daggett sunk their teeth in the ice to stay on, Espurr and Sid held on to a tree with Espurr keeping Riolu from falling off with her Psychic.
Once Sid looked down, he screamed at what a drop they were about to have.
Kate reached out to her beloved Pikachu. "MAX! NOOO!"
"Kate! You have to get out of here! Go! Go now! Get everybody to safety!" Max told his wife. After that, they hit the water with a big splash. They were briefly underwater, until their newly made ice boat brought them back to the surface.
Ellie, Peaches, Kiara, and Kate looked at them with worried looks. "Kate!" Kiara shouted for the Togetic.
The edge of the cliff began to fall apart. "Get back! Quickly get back!" Kate told them. They backed away from the crumbling edge.
Max, Manny, and their friends with them looked up and saw some more icebergs falling from the land of Ice Age Valley. They didn't actually hit them, they just hit the water in front of them. It made a big wave that pushed Manny, Max, Sid, Diego, Riolu, Espurr, Kovu, Norbert, and Daggett further away from Ice Age Valley.
As she, Kiara, Kate, and Ellie watched them sail further away from home, Peaches began to cry in fear of the thought of never seeing her dad again. "Daddy!"
Manny looked up at his wife and daughter. "Stay alive! No matter how long it takes, I will find you!"
Peaches sniffed. "Mom, this is all my fault. If I had just-" Kate cuts her off. "Peaches, it's okay. None of this is your fault."
"Anything could've made this happen." Kiara assured her friend.
"But what if I never see him again, and the last thing we did was fight?" Peaches sobbed.
Ellie turned her daughter's head to make her look her in the eyes. "Hey! Your father is the toughest, most stubborn mammoth I've ever met. He'll come back to us. That's a promise." Ellie hugged her daughter close as they both looked out at sea.
Kate and Kiara looked on as well. "I know you'll come back to us, Max. Until then, I'll make sure everyone living in the valley gets to the land bridge." Kate muttered to herself.
Meanwhile, Max's group were getting further away on their boat.
"Uh, guys? What do we do now?" Riolu asked.
Manny used his trunk to grab a log. "Come on. Help me turn this thing around." He used the log to try and row back to the valley.
The others helped out as well. Diego and Kovu were using their front paws, Max, Norbert, and Daggett used their tails, Espurr tried used some of her psychic powers, Riolu actually got into the water and tried to push the boat while swimming, Sid...started rowing with a small stick.
Back on land, the animals and Pokemon were panicking and losing their minds.
Kate, Ellie, Kiara, and Peaches met back up with CatDog, Timon, Pumbaa, Crash, and Eddie and now they were trying to calm everyone down. "Everyone, please! Just settle down! Don't panic!" Kate even tried to tell them.
Peaches gasped. "Wait! Mom, where's Louis? We have to find him!"
Ellie looked over at the wall slowly moving their way, and gave a determined nod. "Okay, fast."
"The last we saw that kid, he was back at the Falls." Timon told them. "He might still be there! Let's hurry!" Kiara said. With that, they raced off to quickly find Louis.
Back on the ice boat, Manny and the others were still trying to row back to shore.
Daggett was really struggling. "Eh, push! Eh, strain! Eh, trying to move a spooty ice boat thingy!"
Riolu was straining to push the boat, but he finally gave in and got back on. "I can't...I can't push and swim anymore!" He panted.
Max struggled himself. "This isn't working! We're still getting further away!"
Manny, however, wasn't giving up. "They need me! We gotta get back!"
Kovu tried to reason with the mammoth. "Manny, it's no use. This thing's too big to turn." "Plus the current's pulling us out, even with my psychic powers." Espurr added.
Sid tried to lighten the mood for everyone. "You know? My mother once told me that bad news was just good news in disguise."
"Was this before she abandoned you?" Diego asked.
"Yes it was." Sid answered. "But the point being, that even though things look bad, there's a rainbow around every corner." A rumble of thunder was soon heard. "And nothing but smooth sailing ahead!" The wind suddenly blew hard and blew the stick out of Sid's paws.
They all looked in the direction they were heading, and they saw a storm cloud hovering over where they're heading.
Norbert looked away from the storm clouds and over to Sid. "Smooth sailing ahead, eh, Sid?" They all feared for their lives as they got closer and closer to the storm.
Back on land, Kate and the others were still searching for Louis. Some of them even tried calling for him.
"Louis?" Peaches called. "Louis!"
"Louis!" Ellie shouted.
"Come on, Louis!" Kiara called out.
"Wiener!" Crash and Eddie shouted.
"Hey, Wiener!" Timon called out.
"Come on, where are ya, Wiener?" Cat called out.
Peaches was the first to make it back to the Falls. "Louis, where are you? Come on, we have to go!" She spotted her molehog friend on the ledge of the ice slide, being pushed by the wall. "Louis?"
"Peaches!" Louis saw his friend, but still panicked and being pushed by the wall.
"Louis, you have to jump!" Peaches told her friend.
Louis was too scared to jump. "No! Go, save yourselves!"
"We're not leaving without you!" Peaches said. "Oh, thank goodness." Louis sighed.
"Jump!" Peaches yelled.
Left with no other choice, Louis jumped and slid down the ice. He screamed as he watched the wall slowly tearing up the slide on the Falls. "This is why I travel underground!" He went flying. Peaches was able to catch him and run away from the Falls. Louis looked up and gave his friend a smile. "Thanks for coming back."
"What do you mean?" Peaches asked. "You don't leave a friend behind."
Pumbaa smiled once he saw Peaches and Louis. "She found Louis!"
"Hi-Ho-Diggety!" Dog cheered.
"Great! Let's go!" Kate said.
Ellie mad an announcement to the residents of Ice Age Valley. "That wall is gonna keep moving and crush us! We need to get to the land bridge! Any questions?" A little Swablu raised her cotton feather. "Yes?"
"When you drink water through your trunk, does it taste like boogers?" the little Swablu innocently asked.
"Uh, no." Ellie answered. But she quickly corrected herself. "Well, sometimes." Kate took charge. "Come on, let's move!"
Peaches, Louis, and Kiara flinched when they looked back at the Falls...or where it used to be. Now, they were on their way to the land bridge away from the wall.
Out at sea, the storm was actually worse than they thought.
Manny wanted to make sure that they weren't floating away from home. "Just keep your eye on the horizon!"
"I can't find the horizon!" Riolu yelled through the wind and thunder.
The strong wind made their boat flip over. Once it flipped back, they gasped once they saw a giant crab right in front of them. "HOLY CRAB!" Sid even shouted.
The crab tried to get Sid, but the sloth screamed and ran away. The three Pokemon tried to fight off the crab, but everyone, including the crab stopped what they were doing. They were heading down a giant wall of water.
Sid clung to one of the crab's legs. "Hold me!"
Some of them screamed as they came down. "If I don't make it, find me a wife and tell her I love her!" Sid yelled. When another water wall came closer, everyone, including the crab, screamed in fear. They splashed right through the water wall.
Daggett had his back against a tree and panted. "That was close!" Norbert was next to him. "And...as usual..." After gulping, he gave his brother a deadpanned look. "Your brilliance is blinding." Daggett didn't get the sarcasm, so he smiled. "Thank you."
Sid looked behind him and smiled in relief. "We made it! Come on, ocean! Is that the best you can do?" He turned to talk to the crab. "Am I right, buddy?" But he gasped once he saw that the only thing left of the crab was a leg. The leg was pulled up into the air and Sid screamed.
Espurr looked up at what Sid was seeing. "Brace yourselves! We're going for a spin!"
Turns out they were heading towards a cyclone. It pulled their boat up into the air, making everyone hang on for dear life! They were shot up above the clouds, and they even saw a beautiful rainbow right in front of them.
"Hey! There really IS a rainbow around every corner!" Sid happily turned to his friends and pointed at the rainbow.
While most of the others were bewildered, Espurr just smiled. "It's such a nice rainbow. Kinda makes falling all the way back down into the ocean not so bad."
"Huh?/What?" Both Max and Riolu turned their heads to their Psychic-Type friend. The happy moment quickly went away and now all nine of them fell right back into the ocean.
Back in Ice Age Valley, everyone was trying to get to the land bridge. Peaches wasn't really paying attention as she was walking. She was too worried about her dad and that she might never see him again.
"Peaches!" Luckily, Louis and Kiara got in front of her to stop her from falling into the landslide in front of them.
Once it stopped, they turned to their friend. "Peaches, you okay?" Kiara asked.
Peaches sighed. "I'm just so worried about my dad."
Kiara patted her friend with a soft smile. "I understand. I'm worried about Kovu too, but I know things will be fine. Max is with them, and that Pikachu sure knows how to make things right in an adventure like this."
"Listen, we're gonna get to them. At this pace, we'll stay ahead of the wall and we'll make it to the land bridge before you know it." Louis assured them both. "We're all gonna survive this." Peaches smiled at them both.
Crash and Eddie walked by, but they didn't see the cliff in front of them, so they screamed as they fell down. Peaches, Kiara, and Louis looked down where they fell. "Okay, maybe they won't. But everyone else? Totally fine." Louis added.
Luckily, the possum twins were hanging on to a twig to keep from falling any further.
Okay, so everything's not going well for the Pride Team. But for Max, it's gonna get even worse. Will they be able to get back to Kate and the others before more trouble comes their way? Stay tuned for the next chapter!
