A/N Hey, guys. Welcome back to more of When Ichigo Kurosaki Met Josie Saltzman. So first off, I want to thank each of you for reviewing and showing your love for my first ever crossover story so far. Second, I apologize because I started my first year of university last week and I haven't got the time to update. But anyway, apologies aside. This is the third chapter of the Bleach and Legacies series. This chapter is based on season one episode six Mombie Dearest. In this third chapter, Ichigo has a conversation with Hope about Landon's safety and wellbeing and he meets Josie and Lizzie's biological mother for the first time. But what he doesn't know is that Josie and Lizzie's biological mother has somehow become a zombie for an unknown reason. So, this is chapter number three, and here we go.
I don't think I need to repeat the same statement every time.
After hanging out with Josie yesterday, Ichigo got settled around Mystic Falls until he could find a way to contact the others from Karakura Town or from the Soul Society. The next day, wearing a pair of shoes and a leather jacket, the Substitute Soul Reaper explored around the small town until he sees Hope walking down a street.
"Hey! Hope Mikaelson!" he called.
The tribid turned around and saw the Substitute Soul Reaper walking towards her.
"Ichigo!" she replied.
The Substitute Soul Reaper and the tribid sat a nearby bench to have their conversation.
"How's it going?" he asked her.
"Just going on with my day after the council." she replied.
"Where's your friend Landon?" Ichigo questioned.
"I sent him away last night. For his safety." Hope answered.
"That's a good thing, right? So he doesn't have to be around any supernaturals who would jump at him for no particular reason." he commented.
"I just want him to be safe, that's all. And another reason I sent him away is because he's looking for his birth mother." she said.
"Didn't know he has any other family left than his foster brother." he pointed out.
"I don't know if you heard, but Josie and Lizzie's biological mother has somehow returned and showed up at the school for an unknown reason." she told him.
"I wasn't aware that Josie and Lizzie has a biological mother since Doctor Saltzman is their only father they have." said Ichigo.
"You should talk to either Josie or Lizzie about it." said Hope.
"I heard Josie got elected for the honor council yesterday. And your friend MG may have broke the news to me." he said.
"The twins are celebrating their birthday tonight. Are you gonna go?" she questioned.
"As long as your friends don't jump me." Ichigo replied.
"Make sure you dress up for the occasion." Hope reminded him.
An hour later, Ichigo gets a text message from Josie, wanting to meet up and talk about something other than the honor council.
"So, you heard about my biological mother? Who had just returned and showed up in my life out of nowhere?" Josie questioned him.
"Hope broke the news to me. I didn't know that you and Lizzie had a biological mother." he simply replied.
"Well, my other mother, Caroline, is not around Mystic Falls right now and she's unable to attend the party." she said.
"Where did you hear that from?" he asked.
"My girlfriend Penelope. Lizzie and I were both so happy that our mother Caroline would come and attend the party until Penelope told us she's not coming." she replied.
"Sounds like your girlfriend Penelope can be like a peachy person." Ichigo commented.
"You don't know her that well. But you'll never know for sure." said Josie.
"Anyway, Hope invited me to attend your birthday party celebration." he said.
"Of course she would do that." she said as she rolled her eyes.
"You don't sound too happy about that." he pointed out.
"I just don't want any drama between you and Penelope. Besides, I don't need any more drama happening for me." she said.
"Shouldn't you be back at your school and getting ready for the party?" asked Ichigo.
"I'll see you around the school tonight." Josie replied as she got up and left.
A couple of hours later, dressed in a black and white suit, Ichigo went to the Salvatore School For The Gifted. The Substitute Soul Reaper admired the school's interior, amazed by how many kids came here, depending on which supernatural race they are, whether if they're a witch, a werewolf, or a vampire. Walking through the school's entrance, and just like with Mystic Falls High, Ichigo was met with strange gazes from the students.
"What? You've never seen someone with orange hair before?" he questioned them.
None of the kids had even bothered to answer his question as they went back with their business. Ichigo walked through the hallways and saw MG, also dressed in a black and white suit and talking to a girl, and Ichigo concludes that the girl is Penelope.
'So that's Penelope Josie spoke of.' Ichigo thought.
The vampire stopped talking with Penelope and he walked up as soon as his eyes met with Ichigo's.
"Ichigo! You made it!" said MG.
"It's good to be here. You look really fancy." said Ichigo.
"Thanks. You too." said MG.
"MG, who's this?" Penelope questioned.
"So you're the girlfriend that Josie told me about." said Ichigo.
"You're Ichigo Kurosaki. Josie's been telling me about you a few times." said Penelope.
"Is Josie around?" Ichigo questioned.
"I haven't seen her. She's probably somewhere in the school's hallways." MG replied.
Before Ichigo can ask more questions, Hope suddenly came out of nowhere.
"Josie's in trouble!" Hope cried.
"What do you mean? What happened?" asked Ichigo.
"Josie was with her biological mother and Josie just suddenly disappeared." Hope replied.
"What did Doctor Saltzman say?" MG questioned.
"He asked me to get you and Penelope to help find Josie." the tribid replied.
"I'm coming too. You're gonna need a lot of help." the Substitute Soul Reaper commented.
"What are we standing around for? Let's go find Josie." said MG.
The siphoner, the tribid, the vampire, and the Substitute Soul Reaper ran out of the school to find Josie, worried and concerned about her. Making their way to the cementary, the four of them come across some zombies. Ichigo brings out his combat pass and pressed it against his body, exiting his human form and transforming into his Soul Reaper form. Pulling out his Zanpakuto Zangetsu, Ichigo had started cutting down some of the zombies as Hope, MG, and Penelope fought off some of the incoming zombies.
"There's too many of them!" MG shouted.
"What do we do?" Hope questioned.
"Bankai!" Ichigo shouted as he pointed his sword in front of him.
Gripping the blade of Tensa Zangetsu, the Substitute Soul Reaper continued cutting down some of the zombies with ease. Hope, MG, and Penelope were in shock, wondering how the Substitute Soul Reaper's sword had changed forms. After dealing with the zombies, Ichigo turned back around to face his allies as he deactivated Tensa Zangetsu, with his sword turning back into Zangetsu. Ichigo goes back to his body and entered, going back into his human form.
"Don't just stand around. Let's keep looking for Josie." Ichigo reminded.
Just then, MG heard Josie from meters away, thanks to his hearing as well as Hope's necklace acting as a talisman, the four of them ran off to find Josie. MG started digging out the dirt as Josie raised her arm, and together, they pull her out of the dirt, as she gasped for breath.
"The talisman. It worked" Hope said quietly.
"What's it supposed to do?" Josie questioned as she looked at the necklace.
"Make quiet things heard." Hope replied.
"I should get out of here. It looks like the party is over." said Ichigo as he got up and left.
"Be careful!" Hope called out to him.
An hour later, after the whole fight with the zombies and searching for Josie, Ichigo returned to his temporary household. This night had almost turned into a disaster. With Josie found and safe, the Substitute Soul Reaper could rest easily. As he gets ready to sleep, he gets a phone call from Josie.
"Hey, Josie." said Ichigo as he answered.
"Hi. Are you busy?" asked Josie.
"I'm just about to go to sleep. What's up?" he replied.
"Lizzie and I had to sent our biological mother back to the afterlife. And it wasn't easy for us to say farewell to her." she said.
Ichigo can hear Josie's cries, and he knew it hasn't been easy for her, being buried alive by her own biological mother, who had turned into a zombie, with no control.
"Everything okay?" he questioned.
"No. I told Penelope I hated her since she said she and MG were the ones who had saved me from being buried alive." she replied.
"Josie, listen to me. What matters is that you're alive and okay. Hope, MG, and Penelope and I had a run-in with some zombies while we were looking for you. And you should thank Hope too since the taliasman was made to hear quiet things." he said.
"I should've thanked you too. I wanted to tell you that I'm happy that you came to school to attend the party, but I never got the chance to." said Josie.
"You don't need to thank me for anything, Josie. You're alive, and that's all that matters. But if you need anything from me, I'm a phone call away." said Ichigo.
"Thank you again, Ichigo. I owe you my life." she said tearfully.
"You're welcome, Josie. Go to bed. It's probably late." he reminded her.
"Good night, Ichigo." she said.
"Good night, Josie." he said as he hung up and placed the phone by the bedside table.
'Do I have feelings for Josie Saltzman? No, I shouldn't be thinking about that. She's dating her girlfriend Penelope Park. And I just met Josie a couple of days ago.' he thought.
Ichigo turned off the light and went to sleep. Things are about to get more crazy and more hectic from this point on.
And that is it for chapter number three for now. So what do you guys think? I thought about how to write the chapter and have Ichigo fighting the zombies.
