A/N Hey, guys. Welcome back to the second chapter of the Transformers fanfic series Ordinary Lives Turned Upside Down. So first off, I kind of sucked at coming up with the story's summary and I need to come up with a better summary. Second, I want to thank Saraceasar and Balto2wolfquest for liking the story so far. And third, I got my second dose of the vaccine a couple of weeks ago and I'm fully vaccinated, and I feel happy about that. I want to ask you guys this question. Would you rather have a longer chapter or a quick update? Let me know what you think in the reviews section. Anyway, this is the second chapter, and here we go.
I only own my OCs.
Suburban Nevada, June 12th, 2007
After buying the Camaro, Amelia glanced at the car sitting in the driveway. Turning sixteen years old in the next few days, she hoped that it would be her turn to buy a car. Sitting in her bedroom doing her biology homework, Amelia could hear her brother pacing back and forth in his bedroom. Putting down her pencil, she crept over and observed her brother talking to himself.
"Oh, you know. I'm doing good. Just driving in my new car." Will said to himself.
Amelia rolled her eyes and shook her head in annoyance. She wasn't sure why her brother would attend a party at the lake to talk to his best friend and secret crush Maddie Taylor, who is dating Daniel. As she was about to walk back to her bedroom, Hailey was coming out, wearing a white blouse and a pink mini skirt.
"Don't tell me you're going with my brother to the party." said Amelia.
"I'm not the one who sits around crammed with so much homework from school. Besides, I got all of my homework done. And I need to get out of my comfort zone." said Hailey.
"Hailey! You ready to go?" asked Will.
"Yeah!" Hailey replied.
Will and Hailey raced downstairs and exited at their backyard where Tommy and Will and Amelia's mother Sarah were working.
"Hey! No running on the grass!" Tommy scolded his son and his niece.
"It's family grass, dad! Come on!" Will defended.
"There's nothing wrong with running on the family grass, Uncle Tommy." said Hailey.
"I don't like any footsteps being left on the grass, son." Tommy said to Will.
"It's family grass. Come on, I don't know how many times I have to keep saying it until you get it, dad." said Will.
"Make sure you don't stay out too late, kids." Sarah said to Will and Hailey.
"We won't, mom." said Will as he and Hailey got in the Camaro and left the driveway.
Upstairs in her bedroom, Amelia could hear the sound of the Camaro's engine pulling out of the driveway. Having finished her biology homework and deciding to go out for a run, she changes into her grey Nike sweatshirt and blue Nike shorts as she tied her blonde hair into a ponytail.
"Going out for a run, honey?" asked Tommy.
"I won't be out for long. I'll be back in time for dinner." Amelia replied.
"Have a safe run out there, sweetie." said Sarah.
"I will. Don't wait up for me." said Amelia.
Meanwhile with Will and Hailey, the two cousins arrived at the party, having dragged Will's best buddy Ryan along, who persuaded Will and Hailey to take him so he can have some fun time and experience at the party.
"Did you expect that there would be many people from school attending the party?" Will asked Hailey.
"No. I've never seen so many people." Hailey replied.
"Stop the car here." said Ryan.
Complying with his best buddy's request, Will pulled the Camaro over to the side of the road as the three teenagers got out of the car and the attendees were going on with their business, talking to their friends. Will avoided running into people. He observed a girl with a dark blonde hair and green eyes before he realized it was his best friend and secret crush Madeline Taylor, or as her friends call her Maddie, was talking to her boyfriend Daniel and her friends.
'Oh, great. Daniel's here. I don't know why I came. I can't even deal with him here right now because everyone is attending the party.' Will thought.
Just as Will was about to turn back and walk back to the Camaro, he observed Hailey talking to some of her friends until he turned back around and saw Ryan climbing a tree. Deciding that he will get Hailey later, he ran back to stop Ryan from embarassing himself.
"Ryan, what are you doing? Get back down here!" Will ordered.
"I want to be popular. Daniel was the one who told me to climb the tree." Ryan claimed.
"And you believed him? That's not gonna make you popular. And you're embrassing yourself right now." said Will.
Just then, Hailey ran over, wondering what was causing so much commotion. When she saw Ryan climbing the tree, she mentally smacked herself, wondering how he even got up there in the first place.
"Ryan, you get down here right now or we're not buddies anymore." Will said.
"Just leave your buddy be, Will. He wanted to be popular, so I dared him to climb the tree to prove himself." said Daniel.
"I wasn't talking to you, Keene. Did Maddie ask you to be his girlfriend?" Will commented.
"You know what? I can't put up with your friend's antics, Will. I think we should leave the party and head on home since Aunt Sarah and Uncle Tommy are gonna be worried about us and our wellbeing." said Hailey.
"I couldn't agree more with you there, Hailey." Will agreed.
As Will and Hailey were about to turn back and walk to the Camaro, Maddie decided to break up with Daniel because she was getting tired of putting up with his bullying tactics and picking on Amelia and Hailey. Ryan then eventually climbed back down from the tree to the ground and followed Maddie.
"Can you drive me home?" asked Maddie.
"Car's this way." Will replied, feeling surprised that this was the first time in a while since Maddie had spoke to him.
"What about me? I want to sit in the front. Hailey and Maddie can sit in the back." said Ryan.
"Did you say Maddie can sit in the back?" asked Hailey.
"Will, our code is bros before hoes." Ryan pointed out and this caused Will to turn around.
"My cousin is literally walking beside me and she can hear what you said." said Will.
"Ryan, you can walk home because I don't stand for comments like that from you. And I'm pretty sure Maddie doesn't like it either." said Hailey.
Meanwhile with Amelia, she stopped by Starbucks after her jog and found a table close to the window. She then glanced at Corvette Stingray parked at the side of the road. Amelia doesn't know anyone in her neighbourhood who would afford a Corvette. Whoever the owner is must be really lucky to own a nice car like the Corvette Stingray. She couldn't get a better look inside of the car because of the tinted windows.
"Looking at the Corvette out there?" the barista asked Amelia.
"Yeah. I haven't seen it around the neighbourhood until now." she replied.
Just then, the Corvette Stingray pulled out and left after a few minutes, and she was never glad to see it gone. Amelia wasn't sure if she was being paranoid or not. Deciding to cut her jog short, she decides to call her brother since she was not planning to walk back home by herself.
"This is Will Hawthorne." he answered.
"Will, can you come and pick me up? I'm at Starbucks." she said.
"Sure, Hailey and I just dropped off Maddie." he said.
"Maddie? As in Madeline Taylor?" asked Amelia, not believing what her brother had just said.
"Hailey and I will be there in a few minutes." Will replied.
Amelia then left Starbucks and found a wooden bench as she sat down and glanced around the road, feeling unsure if the Corvette Stingray will come back or not. Just then, an engine drew her attention and much to her surprise, Will and Hailey came on time. Amelia climbed in and sat in the passenger seat.
"Why did you and Hailey take Maddie home, Will?" asked Amelia.
"She broke things off with Daniel. She kind of asked me to drive her home." he replied.
"Hold on. Where's Ryan?" asked Amelia.
"We left him at the lake. He had this idea to sit in the front with Will so Maddie and I can sit in the back. And he said bros before hoes. Will got offended and I told Ryan he can walk home all by himself." Hailey replied.
Returning home in time for dinner, the siblings and their cousin joined Tommy and Sarah at the family table as they ate their casual family dinner. Afterwards, Will, Amelia, and Hailey decided to go to bed, feeling tired from the long day at school. While in bed, Will heard the engine of the Camaro turning on, before he realized someone was stealing his car.
And that will be it for the second chapter. So what do you guys think? Love it? Hate it? So the reason I added some of my OCs is because I imagined Will being a parallel version of Sam in the first three movies and his parents being a parallel of Sam's parents Ron and Judy as well as Maddie being a parallel of Mikaela and Carly in the first movie, Revenge of the Fallen, and Dark of the Moon. In the next chapter, Will and Amelia discover that the Camaro and the Stingray are not an ordinary cars as they originally thought. Let me know what you guys thought of the chapters and I'll see you guys in the third chapter.
