A/N Hey, guys. Welcome back to more of the Degrassi Welcome Back Home Series. So first off, I hope you guys are staying safe out there, getting vaccinated, and enjoying your summer break. Second, I want to give a shoutout to author Phrankster for another amazing review because it is what allows me to keep writing a story like this. And third, this is the eighth chapter of the Degrasi SYOC series and this chapter will start off with the submitted characters' perspective by their first names. So, this is the eighth chapter, and let's get to it.

Adam

The next morning, Adam wakes up as his alarm blared. Grumbling and muttering, he turns over and shuts off the alarm. Rubbing his eyes, he grabbed his iPhone 6S and texted a good morning message to Melody. Getting up from his bed, Adam walked to the washroom to get ready for his second day of high school.

"I'm tired." he muttered.

Turning on the sink, he quickly brushed his teeth before he took a shower as he let the water soak his hair and his eyes. Turning off the water, Adam stepped out of the shower and dried himself off with the towel as his phone gets an alert. He walks over to his bedside table and picked up the phone, having received a text message from Melody.

Melody - "Good morning to you too. Did you sleep well?"

Smling, Adam quickly replied back, "I did. How about you?"

Melody - "I did. I'll see you in school today? :)"

Adam typed on the keyboard and replied back, "Yep. I'll see you in school."

"Adam! Time for breakfast!" Michelle called.

"Coming!" he replied as he locked his phone and placed it back on the bedside table.

Walking downstairs with Chewie the cat following beside him, Adam grabbed a box of cereal and milk from the fridge as he poured the cereal and the milk in a bowl and started eating.

Brianna, who has woken up from her sleep, quickly joined her older brother for breakfast since they both have to get ready for school. After eating, Adam went back to his bedroom and changed into a grey Star Wars t-shirt and a pair of skinny jeans before he grabbed his phone and put it in his pocket and picked up his backpack as he slung it over his shoulders.

Adam raced downstairs and puts on his pair of Adidas shoes as he double checked his backpack for his completed homework assignments. After double checking, he brings out his phone from his pocket and texted Melody.

"Let's go! Chop chop!" James called.

Putting his phone away, Adam sat in the backseat with Brianna as their parents took the front seat and their father drives them to their school. After getting dropped off, Adam walks to the school's front entrance until Melody tapped him on his left shoulder.

"Hey you." she greeted.

"Hey." he replied.

"How are you?" she asked.

"I'm good. How about you?" he replied.

"I'm good." she said.

"You look really nice today." he said, referring to her outfit.

"Thank you. You look nice too." said Melody.

"Day two and still counting of high school." said Adam.

"My mom saw us talking to each other yesterday." she said awkwardly.

"Did your mom ask you anything about me?" he asked.

"She didn't say anything. She asked me who was the handsome boy at the door." she replied.

Just then, the bell rang, signalling the students to get to their classes.

"I gotta head to math. I'll see you later at lunch time?" he said.

"You will. Later." said Melody as she walked away to her history class.

Aisha

Spending her second day as a sophomore, Aisha had kept thinking about yesterday asking Colt to join her for church on Sundays since he told her he's religion. Heading to her math class, Aisha spots a dark brown haired boy sitting in the middle row. He noticed her observing him momentarily before he turned his attention back to the teacher's desk.

"Is this seat taken?" she asked him.

He shook his head, allowing her to sit beside him. Aisha studied him and she assumed that he doesn't really like to talk a lot. She watched him drawing in his sketchbook.

"What are you drawing there?" she asked.

"Just drawing one of my favourite characters from the comic books." he replied.

"That's cool." she said.

Just then, the math teacher walked in and greeted the students in the classroom as the kid quickly put away his sketchbook and took his math homework out.

"Good morning, everyone. I hope you did your homework last night. I'm gonna be walking over to your desks and take your completed homework assignment." she said.

Aisha brought her homework out of her backpack and placed it on the desk as her classmates brought out their completed homework assignments.

"Miss Freeman, where's your homework?" their math teacher asked.

Aisha turned around and drew her attention to a blonde haired girl with a pair of glasses.

"It's at home." she replied lamely.

"You should know better than this, Miss Freeman. But you're lucky I'm going a little easy on you today. Make sure you bring it tomorrow. I don't want to hear any excuses." their math teacher said sternly.

"Moving on. Today we're gonna be going over some more challenging questions and I'm gonna be giving out textbooks for you to go over and you will be given assignments. I want everyone to read one chapter and answer the questions from it." the math teacher continued.

"Never in my life that one of my classmates would leave their homework at home." the kid muttered under his breath.

Their math teacher then handed out a grade nine textbook for the students to read over so they could get the idea on what chapter they'll be covering today.

"What's your name, kid?" asked Aisha, having seen him around school yesterday.

"Adam. Adam Hawthorne." Adam replied, not drawing his attention to Aisha.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Aisha Crane." she said.

Carter

Having started his second day as a ninth grader, Carter is getting used to the school and making some new friends without Aisha's help. In science class, he was writing on his assignment and he looked up at a blonde with pink tips female student sitting in front of him and Carter recalled seeing her at the gym class yesterday. Doing his best not to draw too much attention to her since she has her back on him, Carter continued doing his assignment as he read and answered the questions carefully.

Just then, the bell rang, and Carter never felt so thankful that the class would be over. He gathered his notebooks as he got up from his seat and got ready to leave.

"Everyone, make sure you go through the grade nine science textbooks when you go home today. We're covering chapter three tomorrow morning. Enjoy the rest of your day." the science teacher called.

Carter got ready to go to biology class until someone tapped him on his shoulder. At first he thought it was the female student, as he turned around, it was just Serenity.

"Easy there, Carter. I didn't mean to scare you." she said.

"Sorry. I thought one of my classmates from science class was following me." he said.

"Are you okay?" she asked, having observed his nervousness.

"I'm fine. I just recalled seeing her yesterday at gym class and the way she was wearing her clothes, she looked like a rebellious one." he replied.

"Just be glad that I'm not the rebellious one." said Serenity.

"So, you have biology class next?" asked Carter.

"I sure do. You want to walk to biology class together?" she offered.

"Sure." he accepted.

They walked together to biology and founded some empty desks to sit on. Carter sat in the front row while Serenity sat in the middle row behind him.

"Good morning, everyone. Today we're covering chapter three of the biology textbook you got for homework yesterday. Get your completed homework out and I'm gonna start collecting them." their biology teacher said.

Carter brings out his homework out of his backpack and placed it on his desk as his biology teacher collected the homework from him and the rest of his classmates.

"I just want to get this day over with." he muttered, so the others won't hear him.

Colt

The second day of high school hasn't been going great for Colt so far. Although he only made friends with Aisha yesterday, he still hasn't made any friends. In gym class, after changing into his gym clothes, he starts stretching until a male student with dark blonde hair sat down across from him. And somehow, it looked like he was having a rough day so far.

"You all right there?" asked Colt.

"I'm fine. Just trying not to draw so much attention." he replied.

"What's your name, man?" asked Colt as he took his hand out.

"Ethan. Ethan Roberts Mason." the male replied as he shook Colt's hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Ethan." said Colt, wondering where he heard the last name from.

"Good morning. Hope you guys are ready for the second day of high school. In the next few weeks, we'll be going over physical activities and you'll get marks for your beep test."

Colt drew his attention to a certain blonde female student with blue eyes, recalling that he met her yesterday, but he didn't become friends with her. And it looked like he doesn't want to get in her way.

"Grab a basketball and start dribbling. We'll go through different sports balls that are used to play during well known games. And don't do anything until I say so."

Colt grabbed a basketball and started playing around with it for a bit. He definitely has a lot to figure out if he wants to get through high school. While he was playing with the basketball, he observed a dark brown haired male student doing basketball tricks and somehow he knows how to handle a basketball without any problems.

'This kid can definitely join the school's basketball team with tricks like that.' Colt thought.

While he got lost in his thoughts, Ethan threw a basketball at the dark brown haired male student, and somehow, he caught the basketball without looking up.

Ethan

Stunned and shocked that a kid caught a ball without paying attention, Ethan quickly regretted throwing the basketball. The dark brown haired male student glared after catching the basketball. Ethan realized it was the same kid from yesterday who was talking to the female student with a wavy auburn hair and bright blue eyes.

"Are you trying to injure me?" he asked as he pointed his finger at Ethan.

"Mr. Mason!" the gym teacher called, making Ethan flinch.

"Sir, it's not what you think..." Ethan started.

"Run ten laps! You can join your classmates after you completed the ten laps." the gym teacher ordered sternly.

Ethan lets out a loud groan as he started running around. He had just got himself in trouble.

'Way to go, Ethan. Now you just made yourself an enemy.' he thought.

He could only watch as his classmates formed a circle while he was running around, doing ten laps as his punishment for throwing a basketball. After completing ten laps, Ethan joined his classmates in the circle. What he doesn't know is that the dark brown haired male student is watching him.

"Now that Mr. Mason has done doing ten laps, we can start the class without the display of any kind of behaviour. As I was saying, you will get marks for your beep test before the end of the semester. I don't want any excuses. You try to talk your way out of doing it, I will fail you. And your parents won't like that from me."

"Mr. Hawthorne. You understand how the beep test works for everyone here since it's your first year of high school. I expect you to do good before the end of the semester."

The dark brown haired male student, Adam, only nodded. He didn't really like to talk all that much when it comes to social gatherings. Adam looked up and glared at Ethan one more time, daring him to do anything reckless like he did earlier.

Archie Simpson's Confidental Student Files #1

Student Name: Adam Hawthorne

Family: Brianna Hawthorne, James Hawthorne, and Michelle Hawthorne

Medical Conditions: N/A

Notes: Adam is one of those ninth graders who's eager to start a new life in high school. He's also one of the kids who doesn't like to talk much and prefers to stay quiet. But he never had trouble making friends with new students like Melody June Taylor, Janie Thompson, and Serenity Annabelle Verona. Since this is his first year of high school, he has a lot to figure out by interacting with other students. Although, he has his first conflict with Ethan Roberts Mason, the little brother of my former student Gavin Spinner Mason. I don't know if he'll get a chance to graduate high school when he gets to grade twelve. More on that later. But for now, Adam will have to get through high school while he has things to figure out on his own.
