So I'm back, and with a new username. Many of you remember some of my stories, maybe most don't... it has been years after all. So, I used to have some Harry Potter stories here, mostly time travel, most of them unfinished. I pulled them down to work on them and then... life happened. Quarantine is giving some time to write so I'm trying to put some of them back up after proper re-writing and editing. To keep it simple, I'll go directly to a section putting my current status and another with current stories.

CHAPTER SCHEDULER

So I'm going to experiment with a new writing schedule. First, I must say I can't control how quickly a chapter is published after I write it, when it is done the chap is on my beta's schedule and a chap I finished first could actually end up being published later depending on the beta of a certain story. That being said, I do control what I choose to write.

Making my schedule there are a few concerns. Like I want to keep publishing new stories, completing something and I don't want to leave stories neglected. I also don't want to lose my motivation. So I constructed this nice schedule where I'm going to write 5 chaps based on 5 criteria then start again. Not going to write anything for the next couple of days, but this is going to be my schedule starting on Wednesday:

1. MAIN STORY. I want to complete something, so I will have a main story which I am updating on each iteration. The current main story is Ron Weasley and the Philosopher's Book. Once that one is finished the main story will be a new one, not the sequel to the Ron Weasley one.

2. AUTHOR'S CHOICE. That being me. I want to keep my motivation, so each iteration I will write a chapter for a story I want to write about.

3. LONGEST WITHOUT UPDATE. I don't want to leave the possibility of a story never being updated, so this slot is going to be taken by the story that has spent more time without being updated.

4. NEW STORY. I have tons of ideas, and some have first chaps written in one form or another. So I will publish a new story or one shot in each iteration. Which also helps with motivation.

5. READER'S CHOICE. Yeah, you read that right. Readers' will get to choose one story they want to see have a new chapter for. How? Through the active poll in this profile or in the forums (https://www.fanfiction.net/myforums/Jon-Riptide/4332391/). The moment I finish writing the new story I close the polls, pick the highest voted story and write for that. Then I open a new poll to choose for the next iteration. If there's a tie, I choose between the stories that are tied.

No rule about repetition, a story can have more than one chap written in each iteration.

The first iteration will be:

1. (Main Story) Ron Weasley and the Philosopher's Stone Chap 10: A Hollow Win.

2. (Author's Choice) Harry Potter and the Son of the Legend Chap 2: The Unexpected Family

3. (Longest Without Update) Harry Potter and the Shipping Wars Chap 2: The Building of Ships

4. (New Story). Harry Potter and the Gatekeeper's Book (Old story of mine which I need to republish, working title)

5. (Reader's Choice) Harry Potter and the Halfblood Weasleys Chap 5: The Trace

UPDATE FOR 03-12-2021. All of the above is written and waiting for beta to go over them. So, starting a second iteration, here is my lesson learned... I am not writing as quickly as I meant, and my main story is taking an awful lot to update. For this new iteration I am going to try with writing for my main story every other chap I write. Here is what I have planned:

1. (Main Story) Ron Weasley and the Philosopher's Stone Chap 11: Quick Jynx

2. (Author's Choice) Harry Potter and the Gatekeeper's Book Chap 2: The Wrong Burrow

3. (Main Story) Ron Weasley and the Philosopher's Stone Chap 12: The Unwelcomed Mirror

4. (Longest Without Update) Back in Time: The Lightning Thief Chap 5: Percy I

5. (Main Story) Ron Weasley and the Philosopher's Stone Chap 13: Saul Croaker

6. (New Story). Harry Potter and the Founders' Scroll (Old story of mine which I need to republish, working title)

7. (Main Story) Ron Weasley and the Philosopher's Stone Chap 14: [Keeping chap name secret for now]

8. (Reader's Choice) Harry Potter and the Halfblood Weasleys Chap 7: You Can't Go Back Home AGain

For Reader's Choice, I'm going to open a poll, though I am considering on opening it on reddit now, to allow AO3 readers to vote.

UPDATE FOR 10-19-2021. Schedule not working, should have thought so, I suck at planning. Nothing bad with the planning, plan was solid, but I just don't follow the plan. So now on, I'll make just a rough schedule of what's to come. This is my rough schedule for next chaps to arrive:

1. Ships of War chap 3

2. There's a new fic with the first part done and that's going through betaing. I am not doing any work on it anymore, just going through beta comments but should arrive soon.

3. I have yes... another new story that I have a rough draft for the first 3 chaps and that I want to go over so I can publish them

4. I have an Uncrushed update pending, chap 3

5. I'll finish going over chap 14 of Ron Weasley story around here

6. Halfblood Weasleys chap 7

7. Son of the Legend chap 3 or Gatekeeper's Book chap4... or both, depending on the mood

8. CHap 15 of Ron Weasley story, probably

CURRENT STATUS

CURRENTLY WRITING: Ship of Wars chap 3

- Ron Weasley chap 13 is up. Chap 14 is like 50% done, roughly.

- Chap4 for Hedwig is 0% done.

- Halfblood Weasleys Chap6 is up. Chap 7 is like 50% done.

- Percy Jackson story Chap5 is up. Chap 6 is like 50% done

- Ship of Wars Chap2 up. Chap3 0% done.

- Brought back The Son of the Legend. Chap2 is up. Chap 3 is like 70% done.

- Gatekeeper book chap 3 is up. Next chap is like 60-70% done

- So Hermione is an owl, was just an experiment. But I have chap3 done. Will get to chap 4 eventually.

- I have edited some chapters from another of my old stories... probably will make them available at some point in the near future.
