The next day Ashlyn, Alain, and Gary were ready to enjoy the rest of their vacation in Alola with their family which made May and Max happy
"So where should we explore first?" Ashlyn asked as they were all enjoying breakfast
"Hey look there's a festival in Iki Town on Melemele Island, We should go," May said as she reads through the guidebook
"Well then that's what we'll do," Ashlyn said smiling at her sister
"Be careful alright" Winona said smiling
"Now off with you kids, I want to take Winona on a date," Steven said
"Well enjoy, " May said before she dragged Ashlyn and Max out of the restaurant
"Hey wait up" Gary exclaimed as he and Alain ran after them
Upon arriving in Iki town, May and Ashlyn went looking for gifts for their friends from home while the boys went looking around the nearby wild area
"I'm going to look for some new Pokemon," Max said before he ran off
"Make sure to stay away from danger or your sisters are going to kill us," Gary said smirking
"I won't" Max called back
"Are you sure that it's safe to leave him all alone?" Alain asked as he watched Max running away from them
"He'll be fine," Gary said chuckling before he saw a different looking Rattata
"Looks like they have regional variants here too," Alain said also noticing the Rattata
"Want it?" Gary asked
"No I'm good I'll probably just train my pokemon, go ahead I know that you want it," the older male said before Gary went after the rodent
Meanwhile, the girls were in several stores looking at jewelry and dresses and even battling trainers here and there causing Ashlyn's Rowlett to evolve into Dartrix and May was even lucky enough to catch a shiny Pichu. At lunch they decided to meet the boys at a restaurant called Aina's Kitchen where they befriended a slender girl with tanned skin, long green hair kept in two vaguely plant-shaped twin-tails and light green eyes. One of her most noticeable features is the fake pink flower in her hair, which she holds in place with one dark green vine-like strap, with two plant accents. Clothing-wise, she wears a pink tube top, light gray overalls with spiky white frills, a white clover-shaped mark on the waist.
"Finally decided to appear, huh boys?" May teased lightly
"Sorry but I found a Munchlax and I wanted to catch it," Max said as he sat next to May while Gary sat next to him leaving Ashlyn and Alain to sit next to each other facing them
"Did you catch anything?" Ashlyn asked Gary and Alain
"Yeah I caught an Alolan Rattata and Alolan Meowth" her brother answered as he held up two Great Balls
"I didn't catch anything but Litten evolved into Torracat and Toxel got some battle experience," Alain said before a green-haired girl came up with several plates of food
"Thank you so much, Mallow," Ashlyn said smiling at the girl and her Steenee
"You're welcome," she said smiling before she saw Alain's arm resting behind Ashlyn "Oh, Ashlyn is he your boyfriend?"
"N-No I-um..no, he isn't," Ashlyn said her face taking on the color of a Tomato berry along with Alain while the other three plus Pikachu, Eevee, and Castform were trying to hold in their laughter
"Oh sorry," Mallow said bowing embarrassed that she jumped to conclusions
"I-It's ok," Alain said still blushing
"This is even better than I thought" May whispered to Gary who just nodded
After lunch, the girls decided to train for Ashlyn's gym battle against Norman and May's third contest in North Petalburg while the boys decided to catch some new pokemon while training with Eira and Solana, Olivia called them over
"Hello girls" she greeted which the girls returned
"Oh hi Olivia" Ashlyn greeted as she picked up her Alolan Vulpix
"What adorable little ones" she cooed at Eira and Solana
"Thank you," Eira and Solana said smiling
"Hmm..despite how young they are I think that they're ready to evolve," Olivia said making both trainers look at their pokemon
"What do you think Eira?" Ashlyn asked the Alolan Vulpix in her arms
"I want to do it memma, to surprise papa" Eira chimed making Ashlyn's face redden and May snicker
"I..um alright then," Ashlyn stuttered out still blushing
"Well these are the stones that you'll need," Olivia said as she pulled up two stones
"Wow I've never seen this stone before," Ashlyn said taking a beautiful sky blue stone with a snowflake pattern in the center while May took the orange crystal which was a fire inside it
"Wow thanks so much," May said before Solana tried to paw at the stone "Not yet Solana, let's just get a few more minutes of training in"
"Is there somewhere where we can find a stone like this?" Ashlyn asked
"Of course you could always try and find one on Mount Lanakila on Ulaula Island" Olivia suggested
"I guess we know where we're going tomorrow, " May said smiling
"Yup but for now let's just continue with our training before the boys come back," Ashlyn said before bowing to Olivia "Thank you so much, Olivia"
"No problem girls I hope you come by my shop later," she said before walking away
At dinner, the boys all gave them new Pokemon they thought would suit them, from Max May got Steenee, from Gary she got her a female Rockruff, and Alain got her a Petilil while Ashlyn got a Skrelp from Max, a shiny female Salandit from Alain and Amura from Gary. After a week in Alola Ashlyn caught two more pokemon an Alolan Sandshrew and a Sneasel from mount Lanakila while her Dartrix evolved into Decidueye, her Rockruff evolved into a new form a Dawn Form Lycanroc but Eira wanted to wait until they were back in Hoenn, May rescued a blue flower Flabebe and a baby Fomantis from an abusive trainer while Brionne evolved into Primarina, Fomantis to Lurantis, Rockruff evolved into her Midday Lycanroc and Lairon into Aggron, Alain caught an Alolan Marowak, Wimpod, a shiny Vikavolt, and a baby Noibat while Litten evolved to Incineroar, his Rockruff evolved into the Dusk form Lycanroc, Max caught a Kangaskan and Furfrou. Before they left the region, Ashlyn and Gary met up with Professor Kukui for a special surprise
"Here we are," he said parking in front of a house meaning a questioning look from both teens
"Where are we professor?" Ashlyn asked before she realized where they were
"This is the house dad and uncle Red bought for us, isn't it," Gary asked as he got out of the jeep
"It is," Prof. Kukui said smiling at them "Wanna look inside?"
"Sure," Ashlyn said before she and Gary walked towards the front door
"I'll wait here," he said leaning on his jeep
"Look at how much they decorated the place," Gary said after they went into the house along mostly focusing on the pictures of the pictures on the wall, pictures of when they were all happy and complete
"I wish we could have lived the way they planned," Ashlyn said as she took a hold of a picture from when she and Gary went to Professor Oak's summer camp
"Trust me I do too but when you think about May and Max wouldn't have an awesome sister to help them throughout their journey," He said looking at the picture she was holding
"I guess you're right," she said smiling
"Besides at least we know that when you and Alain get married you already have a house ready," Gary said making Ash blush before she hit him "Ow!"
