Destination Found

"I feel like I have been stuck in a spy novel," Hilary mused.

Jessop replied, "Sometimes fact is stranger than fiction."

"Tom Betterton was not a scientist, had murdered his wife! And Andy Peters was Boris Glydr." Abruptly Hilary turned to the British security agent. "Are you Mr. Jessop?"

Head tilting owlishly to the side, the man's smile was enigmatic.

"Oh!" She shook her head. "Don't–"

"My name is James."

Hilary grew quiet. Looking up, she noticed a glint in his eyes. (She had seen it before: during her five-day cramming, after she and the others were rescued, and just fifteen minutes ago when he had said, "Well done, Mrs. Craven.") Color rose in her cheeks.

"James," she echoed.

A short silence stretched between them.

Quietly he asked, "Mrs. Craven, would you like to have dinner with me tonight?"

"You may call me Hilary. And I would like that very much," she answered.

Returning her smile, James reached out and pressed her hand.
