Chapter 21: Betrayal
South Island, 1 month later
"Here we are again huh, well you know the drill at this point." We see Sonic running across south Island at full speed, doing loops and drifting around corners, a huge grin plastered on his face. "A lot has changed in a months' time! Anyway, lets get to the good bits!" Sonic launches off a ramp, flinging himself towards Station Square, landing just outside on the docks. "With the battle against Eggman now over, everything started to quieten down a bit. Me and my friends were given citizenships and they even made me and Blaze's hero Licences official again. Sweet right!" Sonic zooms through the streets, people waving at him as he passes by. "But after all this time, I feel like somethings bugging me. My parents!" Sonic comes to a stop just outside the police station, walking in to meet a detective. "What you got for me this time Sonic?" The detective asks. "That's detective Nickson, he has been helping me figure out who my parents are with what little evidence I can scrape up. And that's where are story begins!"
My Sonic Heroes Academia: The Shadow Saga!
"I have a few things, not much but maybe you can get something out of them." Sonic states, holding a few records. "So, I know what you must be thinking right, why I am looking for information in this world! Well, when Chaos Control happened, this universe and my universe combined together! Crazy right! Since everything is now one, any and all records on me transferred over to this world, so if I'm gonna find out the truth, this is the way!" "Hum, I will take a look, but no promises, like usual."Nickson stated, grabbing the records, and walking back to his office, just as Sonic sped out. "I feel like I'm forgetting something." Sonic says to himself as he races down the streets. "THE CAKE!" He shouts, doing a complete 180 drift and launching back down towards Station Square bakery. "You see, today is an important day. Today is August 1st, Kyoka's birthday, and I'm running late!" "Yes me, Sonic, the fastest thing alive is running late!" He says to himself, running as quick as he can to the bakery before it closes. Sonic just makes it through the door as the closed sign is about to be turned. "I thought you weren't coming for a second there Sonic." Said the baker, passing Sonic the box with the cake in. "Thanks Mr Michaels!" Sonic shouts back to the man, taking off out again. The baker just shakes his head. "Gonna be late, gonna be late!" Sonic states over and over again to himself. Just then, the Hyper Tornado flies over, Sonic jumping onto the wing, as Tails flies towards South Island. "I thought you could use a ride!" Tails says with a smile. "You are a life saver little buddy, thanks!" Sonic says back, smirking at him as they come in for a landing at Tail's workshop. "Better hurry, I don't know how much longer Longclaw, Amy and Cream can distract Blaze for!" Knuckles states as he, Sonic and Tails run towards the party area.
"Ok, now I know somethings up." Jiro states, looking around as Amy and Cream try to stop her from walking out the door. "Miss Blazey, Mr Sonic said not to let you out yet." Said Cream, making Blaze annoyed. "He. Did. What!" Kyoka states slowly, making both Cream and Amy move out of the way in slight fear. Charging out the door and down the hill, Blaze sees Sonic standing out in the open, smirking at her. 'Ok, what's he done?!' She thinks to herself, approaching Sonic slowly. "What you smiling about?" She says, curiously, only for Izuku to move out of the way, revealing… "SURPRISE!" Everyone shouts, making Blaze jump. Eventually she looks around, seeing all the presents, decorations, and eventually, Sonic holding a cake. "You guys did this all for me." She says tears in her eyes. "Of course we did, your important to us! Your important to me!" Sonic states, putting the cake down on a table and then proceeds to kiss her. "Thank you!" She screams, hugging everyone individually.
Time skip 6 hours later (00:00)
"Best birthday ever!" Kyoka announces as she and the other girls walk back into there shared hut, leaving just Sonic alone outside. 'I'm glad she liked her birthday.' Sonic says, smiling to himself as he walks back to Longclaw's old hut, a hut which is now his. Walking through the front door, Sonic trips on a carpet, nudging it out the way, revealing a hatch. "What?" Sonic states, confused. Getting the urge to look what's inside, Sonic lifts the hatch up and climbs down the ladder. When he reached the bottom he found a small room, with a desk, bookcase and a chair made of wood, basically just a simple office. "Well this was boring." Izuku states, getting ready to climb out the hole, only to notice a diary sitting on the desk.
"I mean, its my house now right? If Longclaw didn't want me to touch it, she would have taken it with her to the Mansion." Izuku says to himself, proceeding to grab the diary and climb the ladder once again.
Laying down on his bed, he turned his bedside light on to get a better look at the cover, only to be shocked by the name present. 'Robotnik!' He says, looking at the book in confusion. Deciding he had nothing better to do, he opened the book to page one, starting to read. "Dr. Gerald Robotnik, entry 1: This is the new diary I will be using to write down all my lab notes on a new project I'm working on, Project—" "Shadow?" Izuku says to himself. "Why does that name sound familiar?" Izuku questions, but eventually keeps reading. "Dr. Gerald Robotnik, entry 7: Today, Maria and little Izuku came to the ark." Sonic stops reading, staring at the page. "W—What?" He says to himself in panic. "Calm down, it's probably just another boy named Izuku, right?" He says, calming his nerves. "This environment is the best place for both of them due to their Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome, making it impossible to survive on earth." "That's sad." Izuku says to himself, getting a strange feeling of Déjà vu. "However, thanks to the progression of Project Shadow, I now have the necessary formular required to cure this disease once and for all." "Wow, this Project Shadow must be important." Izuku says.
"Dr. Gerald Robotnik, entry 15: I did it! I cured the N.I.D.S inside Izuku, however I now need to make a new batch of the formular to give to Maria. Luckily, I can concentrate on it, as Maria is currently entertaining Shadow and Izuku. I swear those 2 are more like brothers than any real brothers I have ever seen before." Izuku takes a break for a second to process this information. "If this book contains stuff so important, then why did Longclaw hide it away?" Izuku asks himself, continuing to read. "Dr. Gerald Robotnik, final entry: G.U.N think they killed Maria. I sent Izuku with a friend of mine, she will look after him. As for Shadow, Maria shot him down to earth in an escape pod, which caused G.U.N to shoot her. My poor granddaughter. However just before G.U.N found me a took me away, I managed to put her in a stasis pod. This pod will keep her alive on the ark for as long as it has power, and slowly over time, inject the cure into her system, allowing it to do its job. I don't know if I will be alive to see my Grandchildren again, but I know this. Maria will rise once again, Shadow will be the protector the world needs and Izuku will be safe with Longclaw!" "WHAT!" Izuku shouts, jumping out of his bed, tears in his eyes. "It can't be true, this has to be some sick joke!" He says, taking off running outside, only to come to the edge of a cliff and scream!
Suddenly, Kyoka was jolted out of her sleep by a loud scream, and apparently, so was everyone else. "What was that?!" Asked Amy, sounding scared and confused. "It sounded like Mr Sonic." Cream states, making Blaze jump out of bed quick and run outside, only to see Izuku standing on the edge of a cliff, hands covering his face. "Izu, what's wrong?" Kyoka asks calmly, only for Izuku to run to her, and dive headfirst into a hug. "Shh, its ok. You can tell me what's wrong." She says to him, trying to calm him down. All he does is pass her the book before passing out. Carrying Izuku in her arms, she walks back to his hut and puts him in bed. Sitting in a bean bag chair in the corner, Kyoka begins to read the diary, her eyes becoming wider as she reads further and further in.
Waking up with a start, Izuku looks around his hut, only to spot Kyoka in the corner, holding the diary in her hands, asleep. She looked like she had been crying. "How could Longclaw lie to me about this!" Izuku said quietly to himself, walking out of his hut, only to come face to face with Longclaw herself. 'Speak of the devil and she appears.' He says in his mind. "Hi, Izuku. I just came by because I realised I left something in my office down stair in the hut, is it ok if I go grab it quickly." She says, not noticing the dead look in Izuku's eyes. "Yeah sure. Just after you answer me one thing." He says to her. "Sure, ask away." "Why?" Is all Izuku asks, making Longclaw take a step back, now noticing his eyes look dead. "Why what?" Was all she said back. "Why did you lie about who I was. Where I came from. That I had a sister!" He shouts, catching everyone's attention. Longclaw just stands there with her eyes wide. "You were never meant to see that!" She states, rushing in to try and grab the book, only to be blocked by an angry and upset Blaze. "WHY?! ANSWER THE QUESTION!" Izuku demanded, anger very clear in his voice. "Because I didn't want you searching for her or Shadow, and especially not Gerald!" She states, clearly finding it hard to say. Izuku just looks at her one last time, before taking off towards D.C. The others look confused, so Blaze starts to explain.
Washington D.C., 4 hours later
Sonic charged into the main room of the White house, sitting down on a sofa. The President just looked at him. "Hi Sonic, can I help you?" He questioned. "I need something, anything you have for me to do. I need to get my mind off a few things." Izuku states. "Well currently we have nothing…" Suddenly, a bunch of G.U.N agents burst into the room, walking up to the president's desk, only noticing Sonic a few seconds later. "Well this is convenient. Mr President sir, we have had a break in at one of our facilities on prison island sir." The President looks shocked, as does Sonic. "Yeah but that's not the best part. Its who is breaking in." The agent shows the footage to Sonic and the President, only for them to both stare in shock. "Eggman!" Sonic states, jumping up off the chair. "How, he died!" The agents just shrugged. "Where is this prison Island." Sonic asks, the agents giving him the location, before he takes off at high speed towards the island, Yellow Chaos Emerald in hand.
And that's chapter 21, or part 1 of the shadow saga! As you can see, I have taken a lot more creative freedom with this chapter, and I think it turn out pretty well if I do say so myself. Anyway, thank you for the 3500 views in the first week of this story being out! Honestly, it feels like a lot longer, but as long as people are enjoying this Fic, I will continue writing.
