Chapter 23: Triple the Trouble!

South Island, 1 hour later

"So let me get this straight!" Kyoka says, looking at Izuku, Maria and Shadow. "Izuku and Maria were just normal kids who had a disease, that was cured by a serum made by their grandfather, who happens to be Eggman's grandfather. He first used the cure on Izuku, which worked but gave him his speed and hedgehog features, and then proceeded to give it to Maria over the last 10 years, giving her the same features, but different powers, which you have no clue what they are. Shadow is a hedgehog boy created by Dr Gerald Robotnik, who was trying to create the world's ultimate lifeform! The serum was made from Shadow's DNA and was given to you and Maria, so I just have one question? Is Shadow now your dad?" Kyoka asks, only to have Izuku and Maria burst out laughing, while Shadow does not look amused. "No, he is more like a grumpy younger brother than anything else." Izuku states, still coming down from his laughing fit. "But Eggman's your cousin right?" Kyoka says, shivering at the thought, Izuku doing the same. "Yeah, I guess he is. That does not change anything though, he is still the bad guy, and I will not stop fighting him!" Izuku states, more determent than ever.

Kyoka nods and turns to Maria and Shadow. "So, this is your first time on Earth then?" She says, getting a nod from Maria and Shadow. "Ok, party night is happening!" Blaze shouts, running off to go get changed. "Party what?" Maria asks confused. " Basically, Kyoka has decided that since nether you or Shadow have ever been to Earth or seen the sites, we are going to go exploring for the day!" Izuku says, looking excited! "Pass." Shadow says, beginning to walk away. "Shadow, come on! Please!" Maria begs, only for Shadow to stop and sigh. "Fine." He states, still not looking pleased. "Plus, you owe me for dropping me in the ocean!" Izuku states, still looking hurt about it. "Man up!" Shadow states, walking towards Tail's workshop.

Station Square, 1 hour later

"So Eggman is a complete idiot then?!" Shadow asks, looking a mix between angry and humiliated. "Yeah, pretty much! Hay don't feel down Shads. If it makes you feel any better, you have been tricked once by Egghead. Knuckles is on 152 by now." Izuku states, trying to cheer Shadow up. He manages to get a chuckle out of him, but that's about it. Izuku, Kyoka, Maria and Shadow are walking throughout the streets of Station Square, looking for something entertaining to do, then Kyoka gets an idea! "Lets go to the arcade!" She shouts, running off towards said building, dragging Maria behind her, leaving Shadow and Izuku on their own.

"How did you preform Chaos Control?" Shadow asks, intimidating as ever. "I don't know. I have just always been able to do it with the emeralds I guess." Izuku states, looking confused. "Are you guys coming or not!" Kyoka shouts, Izuku running off to meet her. "You can't just preform Chaos Control naturally!" Shadow states to himself, looking shocked.

Arcade, Station Square

"Ok, here's the plan, I will take Maria around while Izuku you go with Shadow. Got it, good!" Jiro says, dragging Maria away again. "So, what you want to do first Shadow?" Izuku asks, only to see Shadow smirk. "Something with guns!" He announces, racing off to the nearest shooter game.

"So, why do you like Izuku so much?" Maria asks Jiro, catching her off guard. "Well, to be honest, ever since I met him, my life has been turned upside down. I went from a normal child with a quirk, attending the school of my dreams, to a fire wielding cat girl with a fiery temper and to many badass moments to count! In other words, thanks to Izuku, my life became so much more than it ever would have been! The funny part is, it all started with a kick in the balls, literally!" Kyoka says, causing both her and Maria to almost die of laughter. "Anyway, I love him very much, and my life would not be the same without him!" Kyoka finishes off. "That's sweet." Maria says, happy for her brother. "I actually have a question for you. What happened to your parents?" Kyoka asks, making Maria freeze. "I don't know. All I can remember of them was that my mother was Japanese, and my father was American, hence why I am called Maria and Izuku is called Izuku. I know my father was an inventor, who created all these amazing things, none of them I can remember the name of, I do remember a bear though. And I know my mother was one of Japan's greatest heroes of all time! I also know me and Izuku's last names are not Robotnik, but other than that, that's it!" Maria says, almost looking sad that she did not know her parents better. "Wait, your last name isn't Robotnik?!" Kyoka asks in surprise! "Yeah, we just took are grandfathers last name for safety more than anything, safety from what, I don't know. Although Izuku doesn't know that." Maria says, looking guilty. "Well, we can tell him later. Anyway, lets go win some prizes!" Kyoka shouts, blasting off again.

Time skip, 2 hours later

"Seriously, where are those 2?" Questions Kyoka, holding a small bear in her arms. Just then, her and Maria see Izuku and Shadow walking out the arcade, Izuku holding a massive nerf gun and Shadow holding a smaller one. Shadow also had a massive red and black unicorn. "Um, Shadow, what's with the stuffed unicorn?" Asks Maria, trying not to laugh. "This is Darkstride, a being of beauty, but with dark intent!" Shadow says, trying to be philosophical. Izuku, Kyoka and Maria just fall to the ground laughing. "That has to be… The greatest thing… You have ever said!" Izuku chokes out, trying to come down from his laughing fit.

South Island, 1 Hour later

"Night guys!" Maria shouts, going into her new home to get some sleep. Shadow already went to bed 20 minutes ago. "So, I talked to Maria today. I asked about your parents." Kyoka says slowly, making Izuku look at her. "So?" He says, catching Kyoka off guard. "So? Don't you care at all?" Kyoka asks shocked. "I never knew them, so why should I care. Dad was always busy, and Mom was always off saving Japan from a new threat. Me and Maria kind of spent our time on earth at home. I mean, Dad's workshop was cool, with all the different types of robots he had, the bunny was always my favourite!" Izuku says with a chuckle. "What kind of robots did your Dad make, they don't sound like combat types?" Kyoka asks. "Well, I think they were for entertaining children, but I'm not sure?" Izuku states. "We left after our younger sister went missing one day. Our Dad said it was an accident, but I could tell in his eyes that she was murdered." Izuku says looking down. "After that, Dad didn't think it was safe for us on earth. At the time me and Maria where always in are shared room, it was designed to protect us from the outside world, the same as the ARK." Izuku says, tears in his eyes. "I just think our parents didn't want us, but we were always told they loved us, and will come get us when the time is right. It never happened!" Izuku says, now overcome by tears. Kyoka hugs him, trying to calm him down. "Shh, its ok. I can't tell you if they loved you or not, but if they were risking to send you to space to protect you! I bet they loved you more than the world itself." Kyoka says, not noticing Maria standing behind her, smiling at both her and Izuku. "Thank you. It means the world to hear I'm not the only one who thinks that way." Maria says, hugging both Kyoka and Izuku.

Time skip, 12 hours later

"Ok Maria, today we find out what ability's you have, and how far you can take them. You ready?" Sonic asks, Maria nodding back to him. "Ok, first, lets test your speed." Izuku says, starting the treadmill Maria is standing on. He starts to increase it more and more until Maria goes flying off into some mattresses, Shadow insisted they put there. "Ok, so your speed sits between Blazes and Knuckles, maxing out at around 250mph, very impressive but nothing compared to me or Shadow. Next, stren—" Izuku is cut off by the sound of an explosion in the distance. "$20 says it's Eggman." Blaze says, taking off towards the noise, everyone else following behind.

Station Square

"I'm going to be broke if you keep making these bets!" Sonic states, staring at the mass of Egg drones flying towards them. "Ok, is Eggman going old school or am I missing something?" Blaze asks, getting ready to fight. "I know right." Suddenly, when a drone is about to open fire on them, it turns around and fires on the other drones, taking them all out of the sky, before blowing itself up! "What… Just happened?" Sonic asks, looking confused, only to turn around and see Maria's eyes just turn back from white to blue again. "Did you just control that drone with your mind?!" Izuku asks Maria, looking shocked. "I think so." She says back, looking confused. "You're a techno mage, a person who can control technology. COOL!" Blaze says excited. "So, lunch anyone?" Sonic asks, walking away. "I want an aged organic milk tossed over seasoned tomato puree spread on a baked whole wheat!" Shadow states, making everyone but Sonic look at him confused. "He means pizza." Sonic states, continuing to walk towards the nearest pizza place.

South Island, 4 hours later

Sonic and Shadow are seen standing on the edge of a cliff, staring out over the sea. "Shadow, why are we hear?" Sonic says, making Shadow look back at him. "It's one of life's great mysteries isn't it? Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of some cosmic coincidence, or is there really a God watching everything? You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know, man, but it keeps me up at night." Shadow says, looking up at the sky. "...What?! I mean why are we out here, on this cliff?" Sonic says, looking confused. "Oh. Uh... yeah." Shadow replies, looking embarrassed. "What was all that stuff about God?" Izuku asks, still trying to rap his head around what Shadow said. "Uh...hm? Nothing." He replies. "You wanna talk about it?" Sonic asks, making Shadow growl at him in return.

Space colony Ark

"What're they doing?" Rouge asks, looking at the screen, showing Izuku and Shadow talking on the cliff. "What?" Eggman replies, looking annoyed. "I said, "What are they doing now?"" Rouge says again. "God damn, I'm getting so sick of answering that question!" Eggman shouts. "You have the fucking screen controls, I can't see shit. Don't bitch at me because I'm not going to just sit up here and play with my tits." Rouge shouts back. "Okay, okay, look... they're just standing there and talking, okay? That's all they're doing. That's all they ever do, is just stand there and talk. That's what they were doing yesterday, that's what they were doing when you asked me five minutes ago. So, five minutes from now, when you ask me, "What are they doing?" my answer's gonna be, "They're still just talking, and they're still just standing there!"" Eggman states, clearly annoyed. "...What're they talking about?" Rouge asks with a grin. "...You know what? I fucking hate you." Eggman states.

South Island

"Anyway, back to the question." Sonic states. "I was thinking about the Chaos Emeralds. We have 2 currently, however I know Eggman has the other 5, and he's planning to use them in something called the eclipse cannon." Shadow states, making Sonic look worried. "What is that exactly?" Izuku questions. "A weapon capable of destroying planets." Shadow states calmly. "EGGMAN HAS A DEATH STAR, WHAT THE FU—"

And that's chapter 23. Sorry for not posting an update yesterday, with Security Breach stuff and me working on a Sonic clay sculpture I had no time to upload. However I will be back to at least one a day from now on. Anyway, with this chapter came a lot of lore drops and a ton of references. So I hope you all enjoy, feel free to review and CHAOS SWISSROLE!
