I'm sorry... when did I last update this? 2015? Yeah... yeah no, getting rid of all that. Outdated as fuck, the lot of it. Let's start over with the new decade, a clean slate. *ahem*

Hello to whoever has happened to have wandered in here. My name is (REDACTED) but you can call me Phoenix during our time together. I have come a long, long way from when I first joined this site and posted stuff on it. Looking back on those early works I can barely even recognize the person who created them. Don't worry, the old stuff isn't going away, no matter how embarrassing it is to look back on it. That's why it's staying, incidentally, to remind me of where I came from and what I used to be. Stupid. Yes, yes, I know, cliche self-hating artist and all that jazz. Look, I call that out in my friends who do it, but I can indulge in a bit of objective recognition of what an idiot I used to be, alright? Oh why do you even care? I'm writing this mostly for myself at this point, to vent some feelings I have now that I'm navel-gazing about the new decade. Enough of this meta self pity shit, let's talk fanfiction.

Okay, so here's my vague as hell plan for the future now that I have new year's and new decade's resolutions to make and hopefully not break. In general I want to be more proactive in my writing so I'm actually posting the stuff I work on rather than leaving it to wallow in my gdocs for years gathering digital dust. Ergo, I expect (pray really) to see more activity on this account for my part in the coming months and years. That said, I will be trying a new method of story posting this time for certain works, in the form of fully writing a story out before posting the whole thing in one complete segment all at once. Like I just did with Roland's Journal, which you should totally check out by the way if you have ever played the first Borderlands game. Was a hell of a lot of fun to write as I played through my nostalgia. But yes, some of my stories I post on here will be in that new format, which I feel will cut down on waffling while increasing quality. For the really big stuff though that might not be as feasible, hence those shall remain chapter-posting style.

Speaking of, let's get to the story the majority of you will likely be here for. Humanity's Stand, my contribution to The Bridge Amalgamverse fanfiction setting. I will admit, I have NOT been as active with that story as I should be, and that's honestly entirely my fault. I burned myself out on the story back in 2018 when I realized that I had way, way too many issues with how slap-dash I'd been writing it, and even though I could have continued with it in that state, I simply didn't feel like it would be doing the story justice to do so. As much as I realized that, however, I simply couldn't bring myself to begin the work to properly fix it. I'd delay, distract, and pretend it didn't exist, and did so for all of that year and too much of 2019 as well. I have started work on a proper rewrite for the story, and indeed am almost to the point where active rewriting will begin, but again, it took me far to long to get to that point, and thus I apologize. I apologize to the fans of the story for keeping them waiting, to Bridge writer Tarbtano for keeping him hanging for so long, and to myself for allowing my progress on my largest writing project to this point to falter like this. No more. I am going to finish that story properly, and do it in a much more timely manner. This I swear, both to all of you, and to myself.

You know in hindsight, writing all of this out on my profile page probably isn't the best use of this personalized slot, but fuck it, there isn't a blog feature on FF for authors so this will have to do. I'll come back here to remove this announcement stuff and replace it with a proper bio later. For now, I'll let it stand as is. Welcome to the new decade, folks. Let's get to work.
