I'm crazy about TMNT, and Apritello (my favorite ship in the franchise). So I've been dying to write and post an Apritello fanfic here. I've had this outlined for awhile now, but wasn't sure when I'd ever actually write it out, but since it's almost Halloween and I've been stuck at home with covid (just a lot of coughing, my condition is not serious) for the last 2 weeks, this felt like the primary time.

It was fun to write. I really enjoyed all their scenes together (just like every episode), and I really wanted to expand on the obvious Apritello vampire love (because there wasn't enough of it for my taste).

Returning to the layer proved to be a bad idea. Raph escaped his chains, stole the Time Scepter, and the monster army had found them. Forcing them to leave their home and seek another place to hide.

All this was bad, but the worst was that vampire April had bitten Donnie.

By the time Leo, Mikey, and Renet had dragged their brainiac brother into the old abandon hospital under the subway and barricaded the door, Donnie was in terrible shape.

"Agh! Guys…I'm-I'm losing myself," Donnie cried, feeling the venom in his neck taking over his body.

Leo and Renet grabbed his arms, lead him over to one of the hospital beds, laid him down, and then had to hold him down because Donnie started struggling and crying out.

He didn't have long.

"Does your comic say how to stop a vampire transformation, Mikey?!" Leo desperately asked his little brother who was holding Donnie's staff talisman over their ill brother to hopefully keep him there.

"Uh, not sure. I never scored issue 7," Mikey replied nervously.

Donnie continued to struggle and cry out like he was fighting through the worst pain he had ever been in his entire life.

And yet, April was still on his mind, regardless of the pain and fear.

"You're mine, Donnie!" He could still hear April's words just before she bit him echoing in his brain. Under normal circumstances, Donnie would have been thrilled out of his mind to hear April say something like that to him.

But at the moment, he was terrified. And strangely…anxious.

"Agh!" Donnie hollered. His eyes were slowly turning from white to the same glowing blue-ish color the rest of the vampire citizens had. "So thirsty," he uttered, starting to feel his mouth and throat dry up. "…need blood…need…April."

"April?" All three of them said at the same time, looking down at him weirdly.

Donnie turned his head left, right, and every other direction, like he was searching the room. "Where-where's April?! Where is she?!" he yelled furiously when he found no trace of her close by.

"Donnie, calm down!" Mikey cried.

"Come on, stay with us, bro!" Leo said, desperate to not have another brother turn into a vampire before his very eyes.

"April! Stay…with…April!" Donnie shouted, his eyes getting brighter and bluer by the second. "I need her!"

The transformation had a strong hold on him, but stronger was his desire to be with the one who bit him.

The love of his life. His best friend. The most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

"We have to try to stop his transformation," Renet said, still trying to hold Donnie down with Leo.

"We also have to stop Savanti, stop Dracula, and get the Time Scepter back from Raph! All before the world ends!" Leo cried out.

Donnie screamed again, louder then the last few, before passing out.

Leo, Mikey, and Renet didn't know what that meant, but they didn't have time to wonder because they could hear something big and strong starting to pound on the double iron doors they had blocked with a cabinet.

From the grunting sounds, they had a pretty good guess who it was.

"Great, vampires hate iron but Frankensteins are fine with-" Leo started to rant, hating that not all monsters shared the same weaknesses, until something smacked him in the face, making him stumble back.

When he regained his bearings, Renet and Mikey stood at his sides, looking at what had hit him with great fear.

"Oh no. Donnie!" Mikey cried in horror.

Donatello turned to them with glowing eyes and hissed at them so loudly, it was almost a roar. A large set of vampire fangs were among his other teeth, and strangely enough, his normal tooth gap was still there.

Yup. Donatello was a vampire now.

Grinning, Donnie picked up a hospital bed with one hand and threw it at them. Leo, Mikey, and Renet quickly jumped out of the way and started moving to the back of the room.

There were a lot more hospital beds across the room all close together. Leo, Mikey, and Renet started jumping on top of them, from one to another, trying to get away from Donnie. But Donnie followed after, lifting more beds and hurling them at their retreating forms.

Their exit in sight, Leo took out a knife and threw it at a button next to a small hatch door, impaling it so it couldn't be used again.

"Through here!" the leader in blue yelled. They only had a second to get through before it closed and couldn't be opened again, but all three made it. And just before Donnie reached them too.

After his brothers and the Timestress escaped from him, the newly transformed Donatello banged on the small hatch door they slipped through.

The vampire-turtle mutant hissed, angry that he couldn't capture them in time.

"Donnie," a spooky but beautiful voice echoed into the old hospital, making the brainiac stop growling and just listened. "Donnie," it sung again. The most hypnotically, mystifying eerie call he had ever heard.

Donatello turned around, and there, standing in the busted open double doors was the source.

"April," Donnie whispered.

There she was. Those glowing blue eyes, even more beautiful than they were before, looking right at him. Her smile showing off her sharp fangs.

Donatello quickly moved forward, hopping over all the toppled over hospital beds to get to her.

He had to be near her.

When he finally reached her, he just stood there, staring at her. And she stared back at him, smiling.

"Oh Donnie. Are you feeling better now?" she asked sweetly.

Donnie returned her smile. "Yes. I feel amazing," he replied.

"I told you I'd make all that fear go away." She'd wanted to turn him the moment she had herself. Donnie had held her while she was changing. And even though she was scared at the time, she was less scared, knowing he was with her. And afterwards, all that fear was just gone. She felt good. Strong. So what if he had tried to tell her to fight it? He hadn't understood. Which was why she couldn't wait to turn him. Make him like her. They were already mutants. Now they could be monsters together. April reached a hand up and caressed his cheek, looking up into his own glowing blue eyes. "Mmmm, I missed you so much when you went away," she told him, but then her smile fell. "You ran from me."

Donnie quickly grabbed her hand still on his cheek. "Please forgive me," he said almost desperately. He remembered he had run away with his brothers just after she turned. She had tried to get him to go with her, to let her bite him, and he almost did. So transfixed on her hypnotic stare and sensual words, there was a moment he had wanted to go with her. But his brother had slapped him and then that Timestress took him away. Then he had let them take him away from her again right after she bit him. Now that he was turned, he wished he hadn't run. That he'd let her do it sooner. At least she was the one to do it. Now, he was here to stay. By her side. Forever. "I will never run again," he promised, moving her hand from his cheek to just hold it up between them in both his hands. "I'll always be right here with you, my darling." This brought the smile back to the red-haired vampire's lips. Donnie then reached one hand up to her face and brushed her bangs out of her eyes. "So beautiful," he whispered as his large finger circled over her ear.

April's smile widened. She lifted her hand and pressed it flat onto his plastron, while pushing the hand he was holding further forward, out of his grasp and laid it on his plastron too. "I like your new look too. The hat and coat really suit you," she said sweetly. The turtles didn't often wear actual clothes, and she could honestly say, she wished they did.

Well, she wished Donnie would anyway. Because he looked…wicked.

Grinning fiendishly, with a growl of pleasure, Donnie grabbed his vampire princess, picked her up and held her in his arms, bridal-style.

April gladly wrapped her arms around his neck, settling into his strong arms. Their faces were barely an inch apart.

"Come. Let's go find my brothers, then we'll feed on them together," Donnie said sinisterly.

April giggled evilly and leaned her head on his shoulder as Donatello walked out of the old hospital, following the other monsters to go catch up with his last two brothers who hadn't been turned yet and the Timestress.

Halloween was just getting started for the vampiric couple, and there was still more fun to be had.
