Like many readers, I've considered myself quite a fan of the Jurassic World fanfic It's Not the Raptor DNA (or INTRDNA for short) ever since I discovered it back in fall 2018. However, with all the new characters & lore that's been introduced via the Netflix show Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, I couldn't help but begin to wonder what'd be like to have the Camp Cretaceous campers be part of the AU established in INTRDNA in some shape or form; as such, I eventually decided to take a page from Thanos' book (as seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron's mid-credits scene) and "Do it myself". The character of Elise the Indominus rex and It's Not the Raptor DNA as a whole both belong to 'SkullsandDuggery'; this is just an ongoing project I've been working on for fun that I wanted to share with fellow Jurassic Park/World and It's Not the Raptor DNA fans. My goal was simply to explore what it'd be like for Elise to 're-meet' Darius, Brooklyn, Kenji, and the rest of the 'Camp Fam' in a version of the INTRDNA continuity where season 1 of Camp Cretaceous is canon; this takes place following Chapters 19 (when Elise's show became a massive hit) through 31; as such, the narrative unfolds after the 'paintballer attack' but before Elise's rescuing of Owen from Lily the Mosasaurus' lagoon. I hope I've been able to stay true to who these characters are in their respective continuities and hope you enjoy what I've created; without further to do, on with the story!

WHY are we going to see the thing that tried to kill us all more than once?! This was one of many questions rushing through the heads of Darius Bowman, Kenji Kon, Brooklyn, Yasmina (Yaz for short) Fadoula, Ben Pincus, and Sammy Gutierrez as Camp Cretaceous counselors Dave and Roxie ferried them towards their destination for the day. It had been more than a month since Jurassic World's would-be new attraction, the hybrid dinosaur known as the Indominus rex, escaped the confines of her restrictive paddock and began a one-dino reign of terror across Isla Nublar, coming across and almost killing the six adolescents no less than three times during this period; from what the campers heard, after an entire day of wreaking havoc, this Frankenstein's monster of a dinosaur had finally been stopped by a single, previously unknown, Jurassic World employee, who'd somehow got the I-rex to snap out of its homicidal fury.

Even though they'd survived this nightmarish ordeal together, the campers were nonetheless incredibly shaken by what they'd endured, especially regarding almost losing Ben during an attack by multiple Pteranodons on the Jurassic World monorail the group had commandeered to try and join the rest of the evacuating park guests. After losing his grip on fellow camper Darius' hand, Ben fell from the monorail and would have died if he hadn't ultimately landed in one of Isla Nublar's many rivers, which cushioned his fall and ultimately carried him to safety away from the pair of aggressive Pteranodons that'd initially dived after him. Eventually, the juvenile Ankylosaurus Bumpy came across an unconscious Ben near the riverbank, and the two of them were later found by the search & rescue division of the Jurassic World ACU, who'd been informed of Ben's disappearance by the rest of the campers. Miraculously, despite being diagnosed with mild dehydration and malnourishment, Ben was ultimately found to be 'all clear' upon examination by medical professionals and, after a couple of days in a Costa Rican hospital, was reunited with his newfound friends back at Jurassic World.

This period of reminiscing was cut short, however, when the vehicle carrying the campers finally slowed to a crawl, and eventually stopped altogether in front of the entrance to the Indominus rex paddock. Normally, this attraction would be crawling with people because of the I-rex turning out to be a bigger hit than almost anyone could've foreseen (following Jurassic World's reopening), but the area surrounding the visitors' entrance to the attraction was unusually quiet today. While Dave stayed with the truck and stood guard to ensure the meeting wouldn't be interrupted by other Jurassic World guests, Roxie escorted the kids up the stairs and through a tunnel that led to a cylindrical viewing area. Waiting for them was a rugged man in his mid-30s with a stubbled face and a dark brown vest over a light blue shirt. "Mr. Grady, good to see you again. Thank you for working with us to get this set up." Roxie said, offering her hand to her fellow Jurassic World employee. "No problem. But please, the name's Owen. Mr. Grady's my dad." the robust-looking man responded in a casual tone, shaking the offered hand.

Yep, the campers are meeting Owen Grady himself! See you all in the next chapter!
