During his first night in Inaba, Fuutarou dreams of a strange fog and a voice taunting him.

Getting to know his younger cousin Nanako was a fun experience for Fuutarou, as she was a polite and cheerful girl. He couldn't say the same about his uncle Dojima, as he was called to his work soon after they started to eat dinner.

Now, the boy was on his room preparing to sleep, as tomorrow was his first day of school in Inaba. Wondering how it could be, his eyes slowly started to close and he drifted into dreamland. However, the place where he arrived was a bit different than what he expected.

He was in a space covered by a pure white fog, a red path extended in front of him and beyond what he could see.

Confused, Fuutarou started to walk down that path, not knowing where it would take him. As he advanced, a strange voice echoed in the place.

"Do you seek the truth?" -

"Who's there!?" - he said, yet none answered.

Even more confused and now a bit scared, he continued his path in the red trail that seemed to go nowhere.

"If it's truth you desire, come and find me" - the voice appeared again, this time being ahead of him.

Arriving at a red and black structure resembling a square, it suddenly opened, and the boy entered.

He found himself in a room with dense mist surrounding him, in the middle of the fog was a figure resembling a man, the voice who spoke to him.

"So... You are the one pursuing me... Hm... Try all you like..." -

Without thinking twice, Fuutarou rushed and punched the figure, making it back off slightly.

"It seems you can see a bit, in spite of the fog" - another punch followed that declaration - "I see... Indeed... This is very interesting information" -

"Shut up and tell me what place is this" - Fuutarou angrily spoke before throwing another punch.

"If what you seek is catching me... I'm afraid I won't make it easy. If what you seek is 'truth', then your search will be even harder. Behold, Bewildering Fog" -

In a blink, fog surrounded the figure and Fuutarou. He launched a punch again, yet this time the hit didn't conected.

"Everyone sees what they want to... The fog only deepens... Will we meet again? At a place other than here... I look forward to it..." -

With that, the fog enveloped Fuutarou completly and everything turned to dark once more...

Waking up in his room, he quickly went to the living room since the smell of breakfast made him hungry. There, he found Nanako preparing food for both of them.

"Good morning" - said the little girl as she put two toasts in a plate.

"Mornin', did you cooked all of that?" - Fuutarou asked, as there was coffee, toasts and eggs in the table, as well as a glass of milk on Nanako's side.

"I can toast bread... And cook sunny-side eggs in the morning" - the girl said calmly as she sat down - "Today's your first day at school right? My school's on the way so we can go together" -

"Dojima doesn't take you to school?" -

"Dad's busy with work, so I take care of things here" -

Fuutarou didn't particurally enjoyed hearing that. He was going to give Dojima a piece of his mind once they met again.

At the moment however, there were more important things to do, his first day of school in Inaba.

He left home with Nanako, as their schools were both in the same path. As they walked together, Fuutarou noticed how... Boring, life seemed to be in Inaba.

"Are things always like this? The streets are empty at this hour, in the city they'd be full with people" - said the boy as they advanced.

"That's just how things are here. Dad says you get used to it" -

"Can't say he'll be right about that one" -

Despite Fuutarou disliking the aura of the town, he didn't complained much after that, with one notable exception: the fog surrounding them. It wasn't so dense that it stopped them from seeing ahead, it was more... Unsettling in nature.

After arriving at a cross, they separated and each went to their own schools. As he was walking alone towards high school, Fuutarou couldn't help but remember his dream and the words of whoever spoke to him. It seemed like he knew that person, but couldn't put his finger on who it exactly was, and this distraction soon caused an accident.

As he wasn't paying attention, he crashed into someone and caused both to fall to the ground, with him falling over her.

"Hey, idiot, watch were you're going!" - the girl he fell over yelled.

"My bad, I was..." - before he could finish his sentence, he lifted his face up to see that every student close was watching him, and that by no means was a small number.

He could hear them saying stuff like "Did he did that on purpose?" "Is he trying to get Nino's attention?" "He's so weird". Hearing the name of the girl and people thinking he did it on purpose, he started to wonder if they were famous.

"Come on Nino, it was just an accident, let's move on" - another girl said to her. With that, she continued to walk alongside the girl who spoke to her and other 3.

"What's her deal?" - he said to himself.

"You don't know them? They're the Nakano Quintuplets, the heirs to the Nakano Inn" - another student answered.

In that moment, Fuutarou rememberd his investigation of Inaba before he came, seeing how the Nakano Inn was the only turistic spot in the whole place.

"Oh great, my first day and I alredy embarrased myself like this" - covering his face with one hand, he continued to walk towards the school, hoping that he wouldn't have to see them again.

After entering the school and walking towards his classroom, he sat down without even looking at the students around him. A mistake, as when he turned around he saw...

"You again!?" -

Nino Nakano.
