Fujimaru's Diary: Ryloth

Stormy Siege

When I arrived at Ryloth with Master Scáthatch, my hands were shaking, my first time on a real battlefield. I almost died during the first confrontation against the droids, and if it wasn't for her I really would have died. Now, she will attack the orbital cannons while I must free the captive Twi'leks. The mission is up to me, I will not let her down.

The plans for the assault were smoothly moving forward, and despite the Twi'leks distrust for general Scáthatch and the clones under her command, they couldn't deny that they needed their help.

3 days had passed every since Scáthatch told the resistance how they would go about their plan: While the main clone army would engage the separatist directly, a small group of clones commanded by Ritsuka would sneak up and free the captured Twi'lek. After that, an air strike could be called to destroy the cannons that stopped the crusiers from descending onto the planet.

Right now, Fujimaru was together with his Master, comunicating with General Skywalker and General Skadi.

"How is the mission going on Scáthatch? Is everything alright?" - Skadi asked.

"All is well Generals, me and my Padawan are finishing the preparations for the attack. If everything goes well, we will strike tomorrow by dusk" - Scáthatch informed the other two.

"That's good to hear, and I also bring good news. My most recent campaign is over, I'll join you with my Padawan and Master Windu" - Anakin informed everyone, leaving Scáthatch and Ritsuka confused.

"Is that necesary General Skywalker? After we destroy the cannons, we should be moving to the capital and..." -

"Master Scáthatch, a dangerous Separatist General recently joined their army and moved troops to protect the capital" -

"Is that so... Who is the General that joined them?" -

A holographic display appeared in front of them, revealing the figure of an old man wearing a red attire.

"General Li Shuwen..." -

"You delt with him during the Battle of Geonosis, right Scáthatch?" - Anakin asked his fellow General.

"Yes. I was waiting for the time where I could have a little payback, I guess it came early" -

"And what about you General Skadi? Will you also be joining us?" -

"I'm afraid not Skywalker, there are business I need to take care of. I wish luck to both of you" -

With that, Skadi turned off her holographic projection, leaving Anakin, Scáthatch and Fujimaru.

"Let me know as soon as you manage to take down those orbital cannons, my clones are ready to start the invasion" -

"I will Skywalker. Rest assured, for tomorrow night, those cannons will be history" -

With that, the call ended, leaving Scáthatch thinking about who had arrived.

"Master, who's Li Shuwen?" - Ritsuka asked her.

"Li Shuwen is an assassin that works for Count Dooku, and a very dangerous one. He's an expert in using the Force alongside the lightsaber. I fought him during the Battle of Geonosis, and he got a pretty good hit on me" - Scáthatch then lifted her clothes to show her Padawan a lightsaber wound in her abdomen - "Fortunetly I survived, and the medical droids helped me keep fighting" -

Ritsuka stayed silent after hearing his Master's story about Li Shuwen, though he now understood why General Skywalker decided to aid them alongside his Padawan and Master Windu.

"Come Ritsuka, we'll inform the rebels about the plans and start making the final preparations" -

Together with the clones and the Twi'leks, they started to asemble their weapons and vehicles to fight. But while they are doing so, they recieve news from one of the Twi'lek spies.

"General Scáthatch, General Shi'da!" -

"What is the matter?" - the Twi'lek leader asked.

"The separatist are going to recieve more troops tomorrow to fortify the cannons. If we wait, they'll outnumber us and the mission will fail" -

Everyone fell silent for a few seconds, but being a decisive person, Scáthatch was the first to speak.

"In that case, we won't wait. Everyone, prepare to head out! We're taking down those cannons today!" -

Despite the sudden announcment, the troops reacted rather quickly and managed to get everything in order and ready to fight in little to no time. With the menace of more droids to fight, they started to move towards the cannons.

While they were on their way, Scáthatch noticed that her Padawan seemed nervous, so she went to talk to him.

"Remember your mission Padawan?" - Scáthatch asked Ritsuka, as she saw felt doubt in him.

"Yes, save the captured Twi'leks so the cannons can be destroyed" -

"Very well, and I hope you prepared yourself to complete it" -

"I have, but even still..." -

"You have doubts, you don't think yourself as capable of compleating this asignment" -

Ritsuka stayed quiet as Scáthatch looked at him.

"Even if you don't think you're capable, I know you can. There's a reason why I chose you to do this" -

"Master?" -

"Remember Ritsuka: Trust in the Force, let it guide you" -

After that, Scáthatch went back to the front of the army with Shi'da.

"Master, what is that supposed to mean?" - Fujimaru asked himself while he held his lightsaber with a tight grip.

Soon enough, they arrived at the site where the cannons were located, a Twi'lek village. Everything seemed ruined and destroyed, and they could spot bodies from the distance among the buildings.

"The people here tried to do a final stand against the Separatist" - Shi'da said - "Even though they were told to evacuate..." -

Scáthatch put her hand on Shi'da's shoulder - "It's not the time to mourn, we'll save those who survived. Fujimaru, are you ready?" -

Ritsuka took a deep breath as he looked at the ruined village - "Yes, I'm ready" -

"Very well then. Shi'da, you and your Twi'leks, with me, we'll distract the droids" -

"Understood" - before leaving, Shi'da took a final look at Ritsuka - "Save them, please" -

"I... Will" -

With that, Ritsuka took Hound and 5 more clones and took an alternate route to the village while Scáthatch engaged the enemy directly with help from the Twi'lek Resistance.
