Mash and Ritsuka go to the Command Room in order to be introduced to the director and the mision of the new Masters, without knowing things are going to get incredibly bad all of the sudden.

"Here we are, the Command Room" - Ritsuka said, as he looked behind him and noticing that the girl seemed to be trembling - "Are you nervous?" -

"Yes, this is a bit... Overwhelming all of the sudden" - the new Master said as she clinged a little bit to the arm of Fujimaru.

"Don't worry, if you want I can stay by your side during the explanation to make sure nothing happens to little old you" -

"That would be nice, thanks" -

"Heh, no problem Kyrielight Senpai" -

Both entered together and saw the director of Finish Chaldea, a woman with white, long hair and amber eyes, Olga Marie Animusphire.

"You two, you're late!" - she yelled as she saw both of them entering the place - "Fujimaru, did you fell asleep again?" -

"Nothing like that director, I was just talking to the new girl in here" - he said with a cocky smile, making the director angry.

"Sit down girl, you too Fujimaru. We'll have a talk later" - the director said before turning around.

After the two sat down in empty chairs, the director started to talk, explaining the mission of Chaldea, and the situation at hand. Chaldea's mission was to preserve the future of humanity, and with their instruments they found out that the future was no longer observable due to a 'Singularity' being registered in Fuyuki, 2004. They were going to send a group of Masters to restore it while the others stayed in Chaldea for help if needed.

Sounded simple enough on paper at least.

Once the team were in Fuyuki, they would summon a familiar called 'Servant' in order to fight whatever might be inside that Singularity.

After everything was said and done, the Masters started to prepare for their travel. Since Mash wasn't requiered in the Command Center, she made her way deeper into Chaldea, finding a room with the door open. Curious, she decided to take a look inside.

It was an infarmary, things seemed a bit out of place, suggesting it was recently used. As Mash explored the place, she heard the sound of the door opening behind her.

"Excuse me but you can't be here" - the voice said, a man in this case.

"Sorry, I was just looking around" - Mash said as the hid her face due to embarrasment.

When she tried to leave, she met face to face with the man who caught ver, seeing someone with orange hair and a kind smile in his face.

"Don't worry. You're one of the Master candidates right? My name is Romani Archaman, a pleasure to meet you" -

"Yes sir, my name is Mash Kyrielight, but right now I'm just in standby" -

"Ah yes, the A-Team of Olga, the ones that are going to go to Fuyuki. I've talked to them, overall good people, but one of them creeps me out, Beryl Gut, not sure if you know him" -

"Not really, I only know 4 people here" -

"Well, take this advice from me Mash, do not get close to him, he's someone dangerous" -

"Thanks, but I still don't know who he is" -

"Black hair, glasses, dresses in black and has a grin in his face nearly all the time" -

"I think I've seen him, but he doesn't look so bad" -

"Just trust me, you can also ask Fujimaru if you wish for a second opinion" -

"Ah, you know Ritsuka?" -

"Yes, he's my... I guess you could call him my student, I'm in charge of taking care of him. He's a good kid, bit of a lady's man though" -

"Yeah, he definitly is..." - Mash said as she remembered how he lowkey flirted with her.

"Don't worry, he's harmless, he just likes to tease girls he thinks are cute"-

"So he thinks I'm... Cute..." -

Romani looked in surprise as Mash's face turned red and the the girl tried to cover it with her hands.

"Leaving that aside, I'm pretty sure he's going to go with the A Team to Fuyuki. I hope he obeys what he's told" -

"He doesn't?" -

"Not always. While he mostly follows the rules I give him, he doesn't obey others, not even the director. I better go tell him to obey the orders of the leader" -

"I'll go too, there's something I'd like to say before he go" -

Both of them left the room and made their way towards the Command Room, but when they arrived, a small quake threw both of them off balance. It wouldn't have been much, if that little quake didn't caused the alarms to go off, as well as smoke and fire come out from the Command Room.

Something exploded inside.

They rushed, finding the entire room engulfed in flames, everything was destroyed and many dead bodies. One of them however was different, as he was still alive.

Mash rushed to Ritsuka, who had most of his body crushed under the weight of parts of the roof.

"Ritsuka!" - Mash said as she ran to help him.

"Oh, hi senpai..." - he said weakly as he coughed a little bit of blood.

"What happened here!?" -

"Don't know... I just saw a flash of light and suddenly, everything was in fire. It's a miracle I'm even alive" -

"Hang tight, I'll get you out of here!" -

Mash tried to lift what was crushing Ritsuka, but it was way too heavy for her to even move it.

"Mash, don't" - he said, fully knowing this could very well be his last moments alive - "Can I... Ask something?" -

"Of course" -

"Could you... Hold my hand?" -

Mash, with a small smile and teary eyes said yes, taking the young man's hand.

In a second, the entire room was filled with white light and suddenly...
