The milkshake jay was holding in one of his hands, slipped from his grasp and splattered at his and james' feet.

"Daddy! My milkshake!" James exclaimed with huge disappointment.

James hopped off the bed and ran to stand at his fathers feet where the split milkshake laid. Jay stood stunned looking at his smiling wife, amazed she was up and smiling at him.

"How….you're…but…"

"Um dad, moms awake." James said in an almost 'duh' tone.

Jay stood just staring, seemingly in shock.

"I cant be-weive you dropped my milkshake."

Olivia chuckled.

"Give daddy a break baby, he's in a bit of shock right now."

Jay took James' tiny hand and walked over to Olivia's bed.

"I'm not dreaming?" He asked.

"Not that I'm aware of."

"Kiss her like the Disney princess movies!" James exclaimed.

Olivia smiled.

"You should 100% kiss me like I'm a Disney princess."

Jay was outside, raking up the last of the leaves while james tried to jump in every pile he could find.

"James for the love of god, stop." Jay exasperated.

"These leaves are no match for Bucky Barnes."

Olivia watched from the bay window with a smile.

"Since when is Bucky Barnes your favorite?" Jay asked.

"Since he saved mommy and waked-ed her up."

Jay rolled his eyes.

"Right, it was all Bucky, it had nothing to do with uncle Will or any of the doctors."

James continued to make sound effects and throw himself and his action figure into the pile of leaves. Seeing her husband was about to lose his temper, Olivia stepped outside holding a tray.

"Okay Halstead boys, time for a break."

James jumped up and sprinted toward her.

"What's that mom?"

"This right here is some of the best warmed spiced apple cider you'll ever have in your life."

Jay slowly trailed behind.

"And the triangle thingys?"

"Those, baby, are scones. They're apple and pumpkin flavored."

"You made those?" Jay questioned with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes smart ass, I made them. Just for that comment I should bring them back inside and give y'all nothing."

Jay quickly grabbed her around the waist and peppered her face with kisses. Olivia laughed loudly and tried not to spill the drinks or drop the tray.

"Quick James! Grab the goods and make a run for it."

Olivia's laughed rang out through the yard, and once James had gotten mostly everything off of the tray, Jay began to spin her around in circles with James jumping around their feet. When he put her down, Jay leaned down to kiss her sweetly.

James took off running around the yard holding a scone.

"How are you feelin babe?" Jay questioned seriously.

"I'm good, Jay, really."

"You've only been home a month, and you jumped into normal life really fast."

"Jay, I love you and I love how protective and worrisome you are, but really, I'm alright."

Jay kissed her again.

"I love you,' and again, 'I love you,' and again, 'I love you."

"I love you too,' she chuckled, 'but finish your snack and then finish up my yard."

Jay took a bite of the scone and he had to admit it probably was the best one he'd ever tried, not that he tried a lot of them but this one was by far the best. James had laid down on one of the loungers and was drifting into a nap, thankfully.

Once done with the leaves, Jay scooped James up, carried him into the house and laid James in his new bed for a nap before going down to the kitchen to find Olivia fawning over recipes.

"Whatcha cookin good lookin?"

Olivia looked up and let out a snort.

"That was cheesy. But I wanna start making more of my family recipes."

"We're the scones one of them? They were delicious."

"No, I found that online and tweaked it a bit."

"Well, much like you, it's perfect."

"Oh my god,' she laughed out, 'what is with you today?"

"I'm blissfully happy."

"Who are you and where is my husband?" She quirked.

"Ha, ha, very funny. But I am, I was terrified I was never gonna get you back and that I'd have to raise James alone and keep you alive through memories."

Olivia placed a hand on his arm.

"Well, you don't have to worry about any of that now. I'm here, I'm good and I'm gonna cook up a storm."

Jay looked at olivia as if she were the entire world.

"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" She questioned.

"Don't freak out, okay?"

Olivia raised an eyebrow and placed a hand on her hip.

"That's never good. What did you break? Who's in trouble-"

"No, no, its nothing like that."

"What's up babe?"

"I…I was thinking…um, well…"

"Jay spit it out."

"I wanna start trying for a baby if you're up to it."

Olivia's features softened and her hand fell from her hip, caught off guard by his request.

"Oh." Was all she managed to get out.

Taking in her reaction, jay mentally cursed himself.

"Um, it's not a big deal. Let's table it for now."

Jay went to walk away when olivia grabbed for his wrist, and stepped in front of him.

"Jay-"

"Livi, it's fine. We can wait."

Jay walked away from her again.

"What if I said there's a chance I'm already pregnant?"

Jay whirled around and gawked at her.

"Say that one more time."

Olivia wrung her hands.

"Its…a possibility. Things are late, and it's all we've been doing every night, but it could be the stress of everything or the-"

Jay cut her off with a kiss.

"I was going to buy some tests tomorrow." She said.

"Nuh-uh, I'm going right now."

"Jay-"

"What kind do I get?"

"I don't-"

Jay was rushing to grab his keys.

"I'll just wing it."

"Jay-"

"How many do we need?"

"Would you-"

"I'll get as many as I can fit in the basket."

"But-"

Olivia was cut off by the front door closing. She closed her eyes, pinched the bridge of her nose and took a deep breath.

"Mommy, what's pregnant?"

Olivia jumped a foot in the air.

"Jesus baby, what're you doing up?"

James stood there, holding his Bucky toy and sucking his thumb.

"Is daddy pregnant?"

"Wha- no, no, don't worry about that. How about you help me start dinner?"

Jay and olivia sat on their bed for what felt like hours, waiting for the tests to be ready. Jays hand rested on her knee, his thumb rubbing small circles, try to calm both of their nerves. James' sudden screams from a nightmare jarred them both from their thoughts. Jay was the first to jump, he headed to James' room to calm him down. Jay returned to find Olivia standing over all fifteen tests that he'd bought.

"You peeked without me!"

Olivia turned to Jay with tears in her eyes.

"Livi, what do they say?"
