Hello! Back for a new year- and possibly the final year! When I started this it was my freshman year of college, I'm now in my Senior year. I've successfully done the 12 days of Christmas for two years and I'm going to try my hardest to keep up with this year as well. Last year was a bad year for motivation, it was a bad year in general, but I'm hoping to make it through this year since it might be my last, not as a fanfiction writer but as a college student doing crazy challenges and the like.

I'm very, very excited to tackle these stories and these fandoms. I hope you enjoy this year's contribution and that maybe you're motivated to go back and read the previous year's Christmas fics.

Stan didn't celebrate Christmas. It wasn't the weirdest thing in a place like Gravity Falls, where people like Manly Dan and his progeny would skip the holiday to train for the apocalypse. People didn't pry in each other's business, and no one needed the Mystery Shack to be open for the winter holidays. He knew it wasn't the best use of his resources but he'd close the Shack every December, give his employees an unpaid vacation, and hole up inside until all of the merriness had melted away. He didn't get any cards or carolers, no one missed the mystery man in the woods. And he was fine.

He didn't need Christmas! He didn't miss celebrating with his family, who all thought that he, as Stanley Pines, was dead. He didn't miss celebrating with Ford, either. It wasn't his fault that Ford had gotten into something dangerous. And one day he would get Ford back. So he didn't need Christmas, he just needed to focus and work harder.

If the town was content leaving him alone and his family couldn't be bothered to reach out, Stan didn't know why any Christmas ghosts had to get involved.

"Stanley Pines!" A booming voice shook the Shack and awoke Stan from a troubled sleep.

"It's Stanford."

"Oh, well, the list says Stanley- Does he live here? Can you get a message to him?"

"He's dead."

"Oh. So sorry for your loss. Well. Merry Christmas- wait, no he's not. What kind of scam are you trying to pull? I'm a ghost, I know when people are dead. And he's not dead."

"Oh, yeah, boo hoo, you caught me. My brother's not here, leave me alone."

"You're right, Stanford isn't here, is he, Stanley?"

"Leave me alone," Stan said, getting a little angrier and a little more desperate, "Before I bust your ass."

"Ghostbusting is unnecessary, sir. I'm just trying to share the magic of Christmas with you."

"I'm nonpracticing. Thank you and good night."

"Oh, okay, well, there's nothing in the rules that says I have to force you to like Christmas, but do you want to talk about why you don't?"

"Not particularly. Do you want to get out of my bedroom at two in the morning?"

"I will in a minute. I feel like there was something else I was supposed to say…"

"Well, by all means, take your time, I guess it beats being alone on Christmas Eve."

The ghost lit up, literally, "Is that why you hate Christmas?"

"No."

"Really?"

"Okay, sort of. I wasn't kidding when I said my brother was gone. Forgive me for not feeling holly and jolly when the one person I want to spend the holidays with is out of my life, possibly for good." Stan didn't know why he was opening up to the ghost but it was too late to stop the words from coming out of his mouth.

"Ah. Well… I hear it gets better. And I mean, your brother's not dead, so that's something."

"He's not?"

"No, he's not. I would know if his spirit was in the underworld."

"Thanks. That means there's still hope… You actually did give me something to celebrate."

The ghost grinned, very pleased with itself, before a look of clarity struck it, "There was one other thing."

"Yeah, what is it?" Feeling pretty good about the fact that his brother was still out there, Stan was willing to listen to the absurd little ghost.

"Stop being such a miserly Scrooge and pay your employees more."

"Ah, Bah Humbug!" Stan said, throwing his alarm clock at the ghost. But when the apparition vanished he had a lot to think about, including a little more generosity and a bit more Christmas spirit.
