A/N: I'm so, so happy with all the reviews I got from chapter one! Thanks everybody! At the end of the chapter you'll find some translation notes. Thanks very much! The song is "All of this" from blink-182 :)

"With all of this I feel now

Everything inside of my heart

It all just seems to be how

Nothing I feel pulls at me at all

Again I wait for this to pull apart

To break my time in two.

Another night with her,

But I'm always wanting you."

When Sakura entered Kakashi's office, smiling with Ino, Naruto didn't pay attention. He kept reading and rereading all the documents in hand to understand better the bureaucratic parts about important matters that, eventually, would be his job to take care of. Not that he liked that part of the job, but he understood this would take a majority part of his time as a Hokage.

He heard his friend calling him. Naruto looked at her, she was smiling.

"Come on, Naruto. We need to find a good place." He looked at her not understanding. "Don't suggest Ichiraku, it's too small for all the people"

"What you're talking about?"

Sakura sighed, crossing her arms.

"I'm talking about your party, idiot! We have to celebrate your nomination!"

"What do you think about Yakiniku Q?" Ino turned to the Hokage. "Rokudaime, do you think we can fit everybody there?"

Neither Ino nor Sakura asked him if we wanted that celebration, and to judge by the cheerful way of them, his opinion didn't matter. In reality, he didn't make a point of any party. He knew that if there was a celebration – not a diplomatic one – he would have to take Misumi and he could already see her unfriendly face and discomfort between his friends. Not to mention the thing he was most afraid of: Hinata and Misumi in the same room.

"Does it have a lot of people?"

"Well, besides everybody that graduated with us and our senseis, we have their accompanying" Sakura smiled, giving a sheet of paper to the Hokage. "Ino is going with Sai, right?"

Ino's face flushed.

"Well, he's a part of Team 7 too."

The Uzumaki got up, walking towards Kakashi, who was checking the list previously given by Sakura.

"Wow, the list is long!"

"Everybody wants to celebrate with you!"

He was quietly reading the names. The first names on the list were his senseis. Following he found his friends' names and their accompanying. Sakura, Ino, Shikamaru and Temari, Chouji, Kiba, Hinata and Toneri, Shino… His eyes stopped. He felt his chest weighted.

"Who's Toneri?"

His voice was louder than usual. He lifted his face, everybody was staring at him.

"You don't know?" Ino smirked. Sakura, right on her side, kept staring at Naruto, not smiling. "He's from the Otsutsuki clan. He's in Konoha courting Hinata. I really don't know if he's going but since Hinata and he are getting to know each other, I thought he'd be her accompanying."

His mouth opened, but no sound came. Kakashi took a deep breath, foreseeing the problematic situation they could have.

"Leave the list with me, I'll think about a suitable place. Thank you, Sakura and Ino. You're dismissed."

"Ino, you can go, I'll follow you right after."

The Yamanaka wasn't understanding why the room turned into a heavy environment. She took the chance and left the Rokudaime's office when Sakura looked at her with an unsettling serious facial expression. The door closed and Naruto didn't hesitate.

"Who's Toneri? Why am I knowing about this guy now? He's an Otsutsuki'ttebayo!"

"A few weeks ago I got a letter from him asking to court the Hyuuga heiress. Toneri used to live on the moon, he was the guardian of Hamura's temple." Kakashi leaned back on his chair. "He asked for authorization not just for me, but to Hiashi to court Hinata. Hiashi accepted and that's why he's here, in Konoha."

"What if he's an enemy? What if he wants to harm Hinata? We gotta-"

"Hinata accepted being court by him."

Sakura said loud and clear. Her voice wasn't calm as Kakashi's tone. Blue eyes opened more than usual, Naruto's pupils got smaller. He felt his own hands shaken.

"The Hyuuga clan took charge of investigating and following Toneri. He accepted the vigilance without questions."

Unfortunately, Naruto wasn't good at hiding emotions. His initial shook became in frustration in seconds. His forehead was forming wrinkles as his expression got angrier. He was trying to understand the facts. Sakura and Kakashi could read him easily.

"What do you expect, Naruto? That Hinata would admire you from afar forever?"

"Sakura, no."

"I'm sorry sensei, but he needs to hear this." She approached him. "You think I don't see you checking on her."

Naruto's hands started to sweat, his look was relentless.

"You know this is wrong. You're engaged. And even so, you can't control yourself."

"Don't even start, I've already heard a speech from Shikamaru."

"But you haven't heard from me!" The pinky haired friend put both of her hands on her waist.

"What do you expected to happen? Hinata is a part of the council, you're about to get married! This can ruin your way to be a Hokage!"

"Do you think I chose this? Do you think I knew this was going to happen?"

"Naruto," Kakashi called. His voice was contrasting with Naruto's irregular breathing. "What do you really feel for Hinata?"

He didn't look at Kakashi. He just sat back in his place. He didn't want to deal with this, didn't want to explain himself.

It wasn't just the wet dreams with Hinata that were haunting him, now he had to give explanations that he simply didn't have.

"Nothing." He said, getting some papers. "Now can we go back to work? I have a ton of things to do'ttebayo."

Naruto knew that Sakura and Kakashi were staring at each other in a silent agreement. He didn't dare to look at them. He was busy but not with the papers. He was trying to calm himself, shutting his heart beating frenetically in his chest.

The room was chosen, at least. It would be in a catering room from Yakiniku Q. They usually use those rooms on special occasions, to serve the food – which was the exact use for them. Sakura and Ino got in charge of every little detail in the celebration and Naruto was relieved that neither of them asked about including Misumi in the organization. His fiancée didn't say anything, she only complained about the size of the party, she even suggested something smaller with just the two of them, inside their apartment.

His friends were smiling at him when he approached Misumi, who was visibly forcing a smile. Even so, Naruto was truly happy. Chouji and Kiba called him for a toast, and when he got at the table his friends gave him a fresh new glass with sake. His senseis – Iruka, Kakashi, Yamato, Gai – were around him, read for the toast. His eyes were on Misumi, who was also toasting.

She was so beautiful. Wearing a new dress, showing her shoulders and revealing a deeper V cleavage, her almond-shaped eyes were sparkling. But yet his thoughts were a mess in his mind on if that beautiful and headstrong lady belonged there, with the scenario. If she was a match for him, for that old dream of being Hokage. She was simple new in his life. He didn't know how to read her smiles and thinking that he had to read them, was a pain. Being with her meant he had to strive. Misumi was constantly ordering this from him.

He bit his lower lip, looking back at his friends and senseis.

A door in the back opened, revealing Tenten, Sakura, and Ino carrying trays with foods.

"Hey, it's not time to toast! Have you forgot about us?" The brunette said, putting the tray on the table. "We have to wait! Some people are not here yet!"

Sakura followed Tenten, standing by her side, looking around.

"That's true. Lee, Hinata, Shino… They're not here yet."

His fingers got firm around his glass. He swallowed his saliva.

"Calm down people, this was just one of the toasts!" Kiba gave Naruto a one-sided hug. "The night is young, right Nanadaime?"

The Uzumaki smiled with the title. It suited him so well.

"Yeah'ttebayo!" He was laughing brightly, holding his glass high.

"So let's eat to celebrate in the name of the Konoha's Nanadaime Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki!"

Iruka shouted, happily. Everybody was around the table, serving themselves with the food: large portions of onigiri, sushi, and some skewered meat and chicken, besides the beverages. His eyes were checking the crowded room, while everybody was having conversations.

He was delighted. Nothing could ruin his achievement. Nothing.

Not even Hinata standing at the door talking to a man in formal clothes that Naruto had never seen before. Not even when the smiles they were exchanging could break him, like a kunai straight to his heart pressing deeper. He could swear the whole scene was in slow motion: Hinata's right hand being kissed by the unknown fancy man, the pinky color on her angel face.

The air around dissipated suddenly. He wanted to stop the smiling, the celebration. In seconds everything seemed frivolous, even when the man left, leaving Hinata there, walking inside the room, staring back at him. It was clear that no kunai was breaking her heart deeper. She was smiling beautifully, wearing an expensive dress that, as always, would fit her curves. Always well-behaved, serene. Always untouchable.

He wanted to disappear. Lock himself in a room where he didn't have to look at her and remember that a few nights ago he dreamed with her down on her knees, almost naked, holding his hip while blowing him. With his fingers around her hair, he asked for more. And now his dreams weren't just sex. There were the love promises, the lingering looks, the touch, and the kissing. He was always wanting more from her.

Still, another man was kissing her. In reality, far from his unconscious mind, that would be the man from whom Hinata would possibly turn wishes in reality.

The bile got in his throat. He wanted to throw up.

"I'm talking to you." Misumi was right on his side. "You're not going to eat?"

He turned his back to Hinata, choosing to follow Misumi. He knew that what he was doing to the Hyuuga was rude, when she was a few steps away from him, coming to say hello. But if she only knew all the thoughts he had for her, Hinata would be glad to be away from him.

"Where's your guy?" Ino said to Hinata, curiously. His ears were paying attention to their conversation. "He's more than welcome!"

No, he's not. Naruto thought, without saying, pretending to be distracted by the onigiris.

"Toneri thought would be a night with longtime friends. Who knows next time." Hinata smiled, shyly.

Next time?

He filled his mouth with rice to shut his mumble. Even not looking at her, he heard his name being called. Misumi turned to Hinata, with a facial expression he couldn't read. Naruto did the same.

"I'm really happy for you, Naruto-kun, Misumi-san." She bowed. Misumi looked at him, crossing her arms above her chest.

He swallowed the rice.

"Thanks, Hinata!" Don't look at her lips. Don't look. "I'm glad you're here!" Her arms are uncovered. Shit. "Enjoy the party!"

She smiled timidly and walked away, probably feeling the discomfort. Now she was getting close to Sakura, who was staring at Naruto. He didn't know why, but she was looking sad at him. He didn't get it. Finally, he looked at Misumi. Her eyes were full of teardrops and her forehead was wrinkled. She was furious.

-/-

Misumi didn't have to make a big scene to show how unsatisfied she was. She was practically marching in the direction of their apartment. It was possible to see the way she acted she was angry. Besides, she wasn't friendly during the party, staring at Hinata stealthily, while he kept quiet most of the time.

He didn't know how to lie. Hinata's presence came with a ton of emotions hard to hide. He never had to hide his admiration and caring towards the Hyuuga – what he had to do, now, was hide the lingering looks. Nonetheless, Misumi was smart and, of course, she could see the difference between what he truly felt and admiration. He took a deep breath as soon as he closed their front door when his fiancée entered furiously.

"This night was humiliating for me!" Misumi said, standing in the middle of their living room, looking accusatory at him. "You're an idiot and think I'm stupid too!"

Naruto didn't mind when Sakura called him an idiot. But, when he heard that coming from Misumi's lips he didn't like it a bit.

"Don't call me an idiot."

"I have an infinity list of names that I could call you: idiot, jerk, asshole. What do you prefer?"

The blond crossed his arms, impatiently.

"I prefer you calm down before talking to me."

"Calm down?" She approached him, infuriated. "This night was supposed to be mine too. I'll be your wife and you should act like a decent man at least to your first lady!"

Naruto didn't want to fight. He didn't want to deal with his fiancé screaming. He just wanted to sleep and forget about that night. He sat on the couch, massaging his temples. Misumi was walking around the room, still talking too loud.

"You were drooling all over her! It was disgusting, a shame! You were barely listening to me"

She stopped in front of him. "And when you were not looking, you were acting weird! She has somebody else, Naruto. Did you really expected she'd be in love with you forever?"

He stared at her and Misumi looked back. He was surprised. His hands were cold sweating.

"How do you…?"

"I'm not stupid like you." She laughed sarcastically. "I've always noticed how she treated you, the way she looked at you since we started dating. She always acts like a bitch waiting for-"

"You're crazy, Misumi! Crazy!" He interrupted her, his blood was boiling. He stood up, staring at her. "Hinata had never done anything to offend you! She always respected my relationship with you!"

"If she truly respected she would never have accepted being part of the council. She'd never accepted staying near you."

Naruto closed his fist, trying to contain his temper.

"It's thanks to her that I'm about to become a Hokage. To her and all my friends."

Misumi laughed, falsely.

"Save it, please."

"You think that since you came into my life everybody that I knew before you are not important, don't you?" Now he wasn't minding the angry tone of his voice. "My friends are important to me and if they weren't here I wouldn't-"

"You weren't looking at her the way you were looking at your friends."

She was right. He got quiet, avoiding Misumi's stare.

"I should be the most important person in your life." Misumi came to him, holding his face, looking directly at his eyes with intimacy. "I'll be the mother of your children. You don't owe them or her anything. But you owe me."

Misumi was so beautiful. Her slightly round hazel eyes, her brown hair. Her delicate body. And then what? What could happen when there were facing hard times? How to finish their infinite fights where he didn't want to agree with her, he just wanted Misumi to shut up?

"You have to ask the Hokage to remove her from the council."

There it was. It was obvious she would demand something. Misumi was like that. His blue eyes follow hazel ones and he remembered all those times she demanded something. From the time she told him that he had to save money to take her to "decent restaurants" not to any place like Ichiraku. When she said they need a new apartment because his old place looked like a "hell hole", or when she complained about the way he acted: talking too loud and being childish. He recalled the speech he had to listen to say that he needs to act like a real hero and not just like anybody else, when he hung out with his friends, drinking and having fun.

Misumi wasn't so beautiful anymore. Behind those hazel eyes, he saw nothing. It was empty, hollow. He put both of his hands on top of hers on his face, taking her hands off. His look was firm on her.

"I'm not going to do that." His voice was unexpectedly low. "Hinata will keep being part of the council."

She got silent, still staring at her fiancé.

"I have to apologize for this whole night. I didn't want you to feel this way, I know it's wrong."

"I'm only going to accept your apologies if the Hyuuga girl keeps her distance from you."

He chuckled with no sound or happiness.

"You're not so smart as you think, Misumi. It's not about Hinata. She's not the problem. I am the problem." Naruto stepped away, slowly. "I've done a lot of bullshit up to now, I've made wrong decisions."

Naruto walked to their room. Misumi ran after him. She saw him getting his backpack mission, opening the drawers, getting some clothes, and putting in the backpack.

"What you're doing, Naruto?"

Her voice was cracking but he continued getting his stuff. He went to the bathroom to get his hygiene items.

"I can't stay here."

"Are you breaking up with me?"

He looked at her. She was screaming at him without even thinking.

"We can't keep this up! I can't keep lying to myself and lying to you!" He closed his backpack, almost breaking the zipper. "I fucked up and honestly I want to apologize to you, but we can't be together anymore. You think you own me!"

Misumi held his hands tightly. Her face was wet from the tears.

"You're breaking up with me because you don't want to stay away from her?" His hands held the backpack strap firmly. "Are you two having an affair?"

Naruto looked at her, angrily.

"No!" He spoke, louder. He felt furious at the way Misumi was talking about Hinata. "She doesn't want me, I want her! I'm the one who dreams of being with her, sleeping with-!"

The noise of the slap on his face silenced him. Misumi kept crying and Naruto thought on every word he had just said. It didn't matter that was the truth, he should have been quieted, he shouldn't have told these things to his fiancée. Ex-fiancée. He felt ashamed for being so disrespectful.

"I'm sorry. I... I shouldn't have talked to you like this."

"Get out."

Naruto left, without arguing back. In a twist of feelings, one was clear like water: he wasn't feeling so affectionate with Misumi as he was one day.

-/-

The sun rays reflected on the window illuminating the small room. In his old apartment, laying on the bed, Naruto was staring at the ceiling. So many thoughts crossed his mind that he couldn't sleep, he didn't feel any sleep at all. His heart was heavy. He thought about every important moment of his life, every decision that took him there, every little thing he lost in his way. Now he was looking at his prosthetic arm, bending his fingers. He made so many hard decisions, took some hard ways, how he could not be able to realize his true feeling before?

He stopped his thoughts when he heard some knock on his window. He sat down on his bed, and ANBU was looking at him through the glass.

"Rokudaime-sama is summoning you."

Naruto agreed and the ANBU disappeared.

When he entered Kakashi's room, he found his sensei standing up, crossing his arms. The older one barely moved with the recent presence. The Rokudaime's deep breath was a signal for trouble.

"I was informed you are now in your old apartment." Naruto moved his head, agreeing. "So maybe this can explain why Hinata asked me to resign her from the council."

The surprise on Naruto's face made him stare at Kakashi.

"Hinata asked you that?"

"It was in an informal talk during the celebration yesterday." The Rokudaime uncrossed his arms. "She confessed me would be the best choice after you took the job as a Hokage. I told her that she and I could talk today.

"Don't do that, Kakashi-sensei. She…" He took a deep breath. "She's not the blamed for my stupid actions'ttebayo."

Kakashi sat in his comfortable chair.

"When Shikamaru suggested Hinata as a choice for the council wasn't just to be in favor in your nomination as the next Hokage. Hinata is sensible and different from the other members, she's kind. I don't want her out of the council."

Naruto looked bashful. His arms were closed to his body. She was all of that. He couldn't keep ruining her life that way.

"And don't forget, she's very smart. Of course, she noticed what was happening yesterday."

The room stayed quiet for a moment. Naruto was thinking. His breathing pattern wasn't calm, which Kakashi could see he was suffering too.

"Come on, Naruto." Blue eyes stared at the Hokage. "Tell me what is really going on."

He felt he wanted to cry. He felt anger, resentment. Many emotions filled his chest. However, he wanted to say the truth to his Hokage. The sentence came loud and clear from his lips, giving him a feeling of fear and relief.

"I love Hinata."

Kakashi wasn't surprised. He didn't even blink. He just breathes out the air from his lungs. They had a huge problem ahead.

A/N: As some people wrote on the review: YES! We'll have lots of angsty here! But I'm planning on doing a short story, not too long (not more than 10 chapters, I guess this is short hahahaha)

Translation Notes: In Portuguese I wrote Misumi calling Hinata as a "bitch in heat" (the dog female lol) because in Brazil is a common way to offend someone. In English I just put just the bitch. In Portuguese was a little bit worse hahahaha. In English I always have to shorten the sentences and use more full stops. The comma use is different too. Aaaand I know, I use A LOT of adverbs. I can't help it! Once again, thank you very much! I'm really glad with the reviews. I take a lot of time translating, knowing that you're reading makes it really worth it. Thanks a bunch! See you next chapter!
