"Your Loki got out again," Valkyrie snapped, barging in unannounced.
"Which one?" Thor asked, not looking up from the very important level of his game.
"The one who doesn't shut up."
"Hey!" Loki protested.
"He's just curious! And very social." Thor always made up excuses for his brother.
"Then maybe you should socialize him. Or put a bell around his neck."
"We already tried that. The bell, not the socializing. I thought you said that we didn't need any more mischief in New Asgard."
"I think he'd cause more mischief, kept cooped up here and always trying to escape than if you enrolled him in the school with the other children. Under an alias of course."
Loki broke away from Valkyrie's death grip now.
"Really? I could go to school? With the other kids?!" Loki seemed very excited. Ever since Thor had started getting mail from Dr. Darcy, Loki had been determined to get some friends of his own.
"Well, if Valkyrie thinks it's a good idea we could try it out. But you have to be very careful not to let people know that you're a Loki Variant. No one needs to know we're messing with the time stream, right?"
"Right! I can do that. I'll come up with the best alias ever."
"Alright. Keep him inside until then, Thor."
"Will do. Thanks again, Valkyrie."
"Don't mention it. And don't expect it. Next time he gets out unsupervised I'm not responsible for what happens to him."
"Of course not," Thor agreed.
"Come on, Val, you know you like me. I'm growing on you," Loki grinned.
"Like a weed, a weed that's about to get whacked." To prove her point, she smacked him across his head before taking her leave.
"She definitely likes me," Loki decided, rubbing his head.
"You cannot have a crush on Valkyrie," Thor said immediately, which made Loki turn red.
"What? I don't have a crush on Valkyrie! I just think she's pretty and cool and she definitely wants to be my friend. She's just pretending not to for reasons I don't understand yet."
"Valkyrie just wants to keep you out from underfoot."
"Whatever. She'll warm up to me."
"Maybe, if you stay out from underfoot."
"I'll stay out from underfoot. I'll go to school like a real boy."
"Alright, Pinocchio."
"Oh! That could be my alias!"
"Uh, no. You need a normal person's name."
"Thor 2. Thor Jr."
"Absolutely not."
"Chris."
"Uh uh."
"Luke."
"No brother of mine is named Luke. That's too basic even for you."
"Fine, then. I'll be Bruce."
"I know what you're trying to do. You bring up Bruce to get me flustered but it won't work. I'm not the child with a crush here, you are."
"Ooh, you caught me. You're definitely not flustered," Loki laughed, smirking at Thor's blush.
"Whatever, you can't name yourself out of anyone we know personally."
"I don't personally know anyone named Bruce."
"Shut up. Shut up shut up. You're Lars now."
"Lars?" Loki turned that over in his head.
"I don't hate it… Lars. Yeah. No, okay. I can be Lars."
"Perfect. You're Lars, I'm Thor, you're not Loki, and you're not going to get into any mischief. Right?"
"Right. No mischief underfoot. I'm just a normal kid who's going to go to normal school."
"I wouldn't bet on it being a normal school," Thor warned.
"Perfect, then I'll fit right in."
Thor wondered if he should be worried about that, but he couldn't deny that it seemed to make Loki, er, Lars really happy. And Thor liked seeing his little brother happy.
Loki has a new name! Sort of. We'll be alternating between Loki and Lars now :D
The Reptile will still be Loki always but Kid Loki will be Lars sometimes.
Also, we're getting really close to getting to Endgame shit, which is gonna be a whole three-chapter arc and then some. That'll be after chapter six, I think.
