This year we're doing crossovers for all seven days of Halloween, which means a couple of "repeats" for fandoms, but I think it will be a whole lot of fun. At the very least, I hope I can do something that I enjoy with each of these crossovers.
Day 1 (Oct. 25th)- Teen Titans and X-Men
Day 2 (Oct. 26th)- Ducktales and Big Hero 6
Day 3 (Oct. 27th)- The Good Place and Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist
Day 4 (Oct. 28th)- Teen Titans and The Owl House
Day 5 (Oct. 29th)- Gravity Falls and Lilo and Stitch
Day 6 (Oct. 30th)- Gravity Falls and The Owl House
Day 7 (Oct. 31st)- Gravity Falls and Over The Garden Wall
Enjoy!
This one is mostly just poking light-hearted fun at my Teen Titans Halloween fics of the past and this whole Seven Days of Halloween thing in general. I had a blast writing it.
"Something is off," Beast Boy said, looking around the room and letting out a grunt of displeasure.
"What are you talking about?" Raven asked, seated next to him on a sprawling sectional big enough for the whole team and then some.
"It just feels like we usually spend Halloween differently."
"Different how?" She prompted.
"I don't know, likeā¦"
"Like dressing up in big group costumes, emulating other superheroes?" She asked.
"Yeah!"
"Don't be ridiculous, Beast Boy," Raven said.
"Yeah, we've never done that," Robin agreed.
"It sounds fun, though!" Star offered BB a cheerful smile.
"I'd be down," Nightcrawler said, wrapping a blue arm around Beast Boy's green shoulders.
"Oh right, you're here. That's why it's different." Beast Boy frowned in Kurt's direction.
"Aww, BB, don't be sad. You can still do your silly costume idea. I'm sure one of the big kids would take you out trick-or-treating," Kurt said with a teasing laugh.
"No. Clearly, no one wants to actually participate in Halloween this year, which is fine. We're growing up. We're old now. No longer teens, just Titans."
"Everyone except for Cy is still a teen," Robin pointed out.
"Be quiet, Dick. You know what I mean."
"No need to pull out the first name, Garfield."
Kurt burst out laughing, "Your real name is Garfield? Like the cat?"
"Seriously, who invited the blue man group?" Gar complained.
"No one invited him, he just showed up. It's part of our contract," Cyborg said, holding up a piece of paper.
"Let me see that." Gar grabbed the contract and began to scan it.
"Whoa, Beast Boy can read," Raven whispered.
"I thought he was like Jared, 19," Robin agreed, offering the other bird-named superhero a fist bump.
"He is seventeen and named Garfield," Star said, extra confused since she had only ever had TikTok and never Vine.
"I'll show you some Vine compilations, Star, don't worry about it," Robin said.
"There is a compilation of vines in the garden, is that what you mean? I have already seen it."
"Uh, no. But good guess. Like I said, don't worry about it. Beast, what's our contract say?"
"It says that crossovers like this one are mandatory for the brand and legally you can't call me Beast because that's the name of an X-Man. I don't know why it matters what a trans woman is named but I guess we have to stick to Beast Boy or Gar, for the brand."
"Beast is not a trans woman. I get the confusion, but X-Men doesn't refer to people who were once men. I mean some of us are trans but that's beside the point. Both men and women and nonbinary people can be X-Men, it's just a mutant thing."
"And you're a Mutant? Night-thing?"
"Nightcrawler. You can't call me Night-thing because that's too close to Nightwing."
"Who's Nightwing?" Robin asked.
"Uh, never mind. Anyways, the contract says you're stuck with me for the remainder of Halloween."
"Why Halloween though? It seems so random?"
"Maybe whoever dreamt up this so-called crossover is under pressure to write a bunch of fanfics that are all Halloween-themed crossovers, even if they are barely Halloween-themed at all," Cyborg suggested.
Beast Boy and Raven both stared at him.
"I have no idea what you just said," Raven confessed.
"Come on, Rae, you know what a fanfic is, right?" Cyborg asked.
"Uh, no?"
"It's where people write original fiction based on fictional stories they like. Like TV shows or video games or movies," Robin explained, adding, "Don't ask me how I know so much about fanfiction. I have secrets you're never going to uncover."
"If they were going to do a bunch of Halloween crossovers, why this?" Kurt mused, "Why not just do a bunch of Gravity Falls crossovers?"
"Oh, I would like to cross over to the house of owls!" Starfire said, sparkles in her eyes.
"Oh, The Owl House, good choice," Kurt complimented.
"If this was being done to fill some crossover fanfic quota, wouldn't that mean we were all fictional?" Beast Boy asked.
"Uh."
"Um."
"Er."
"Gimme back that contract," Cy said, snatching back the paper from Gar's hand.
"The contract says, that in the event of an Existential Crisis, the fic is to promptly end, with a cutaway screen that says-"
Happy Halloween!
