The Shield was back on NXT, and they were amazing. Renee is doing what she loves and that is interacting with the wrestlers backstage doing interviews. Any time she got to interview the Shield, she would always ask questions that would try to stump them, and Dean would always give her a look. It made what they do even more fun because they were all together doing what they loved most.
After they were done for the night, Seth and Roman went to pick up Addison from Hunter and their uncle Shawn who were watching her for them. "We are all going out for supper tonight." Hunter said to the two boys and they nodded and told him that they were going to go wait with Dean and Renee.
It was a great night out with the whole family. They talked about wrestling and about what they are doing on NXT. They were having a blast. Renee and Dean talked about their baby and how excited they are. Dean couldn't stop smiling whenever he looked at Renee and talked about their baby. He couldn't believe that this was happening to him. He found the perfect girl and couldn't wait to marry her and have their baby.
Roman and Seth were excited that they were officially moved in together for two weeks now. They were still unpacking things and making their house the way they wanted it. They had pictures of the three members of their family all over the house, along with ones of their entire family. It was a warm homey feeling and they loved it. Addison had a corner of the living room that had some toys in it and crayons and coloring books. They couldn't be happier with their lives. Roman and Seth filed the adoption papers and Roman was of course approved, and he was now legally Addie's father. Roman was so happy, and so was Seth.
Seth and Dean were out together. They were looking for new things, and Roman was home with his daughter. They were coloring, well Addie was scribbling with her left hand since her right arm was in a cast, when there was a knock on the front door. Roman was waiting on a package. He and Seth had gotten a crib for Dean and Renee, and were going to put it together and surprise the two. Roman twisted the door knob when the door was pushed in on him and he stumbled back. Marek came in through the door and slammed it closed. He started to beat on Roman. "You thought you could take what's mine and I wouldn't do anything about it?" Marek said, taking Roman's head and smashing it into a table in the house. Marek then went into the living room and saw the little girl that he thought he had killed before sitting there in the corner afraid.
Going over to the little girl, he went to pick her up and Addie yelled "Wapa, Wapa!" Marek covered the little girl's mouth, but Roman was right there.
Even though he was hurting, he hears his little girl screaming for him, and he be damned if this asshole is going to hurt his little girl again. He grabbed Marek and punched him in the face. He grabbed Addie and took her to a closet and put her inside. He told her to be quiet. He went back to Marek, but saw that he wasn't there. Looking around for the little shit, he was jumped from behind. Marek beat down Roman. Taking him over to the stairs, Marek beat Roman to the point that he could hardly walk. Roman would get a hit on Marek, but Marek would slam his face in the wall or the stair. When he got to the top of the steps, he dragged Roman to the closest room. When Roman saw what Marek had planned he fought like hell, but it was no use. Marek hit him with something really hard. Roman was groggy and didn't couldn't fight back, and that was all Marek needed to get the Samoan on the bed. He tied Roman's hands to the headboard and proceeded to rip his clothes off. Roman struggled, but again there was nothing that he could do. Marek raped Roman twice. Roman screamed in pain and agony. He experienced a lot of pain in his life, and this wasn't new. Roman eventually passed out and Marek left him there to bleed out, tied to the bed.
Marek then went in search of the little girl. He found out that after he attacked Seth that the little brat was his, and now he was going to finally get back what was his, Seth, and he was going to use the little brat to do it. He didn't care about the girl, she was just a means to an end. When he finally found her, he grabbed her and left the house a mess, trying to destroy the new life that HIS Seth tried to make with someone that wasn't him.
Later that night when Dean and Seth returned home, Seth went to unlock the door but saw that it was opened a bit. Seth went in cautiously, he looked around and saw that their home was trashed, like he and Roman had been robbed. "Roman?" Seth called out, but he got no response. "Addison?" Seth called out to his daughter, but again no answer. Seth went through the house and saw everything was destroyed or knocked down. He then went up to see if there was anything done to the upstairs and that is when Seth saw Roman tied, naked on the bed bleeding. Running over to his fiance, Seth saw the tight knotted ropes and went to get scissors. He then ran back up to where Roman was and cut the ropes, releasing Roman's arms. "Roman, baby please wake up." Seth said, shaking Roman, but Roman didn't wake up. Seth then called 911 for help and then went in search of his baby girl. He had no luck finding Addison. Seth was beginning to freak out when Dean appeared.
"Seth what is going on here?" Dean said to his friend.
"Marek. He took Addison and Roman, oh god Roman." Seth cried and ran back to where Roman was still on the bed not moving.
Dean followed Seth and he saw his brother bloodied on the bed naked. Running over to his brother, Dean shook him, saying "Roman, Roman wake up. Please wake up." Dean was now crying, and that is when police and EMTs arrived in the room.
The EMTs took Roman to the hospital, and Dean and Seth had to stay behind and answer questions that the cops had. Seth told them that it was Marek Brave, the same man that attacked him and his daughter a couple of weeks ago. The cops wrote it all down and Seth also told them that Marek also took his two year old daughter. Roman is the legal father of her now, Marek never knowing that he had a daughter because he ran away from him back in Iowa, and sent him divorce papers. If he didn't, Marek would have killed him and his daughter. The cops also wrote that information down. They told Seth that they would find his daughter and Marek. This case was their top priority. Seth nodded and the cops left and Dean and Seth were then on their way to the hospital to see Roman. As they were on their way, Dean notified his mom and dad of what happened and that Roman was in the hospital.
When the two boys arrived at the hospital, Seth and Dean talked to the doctor. They were told that Roman was beaten badly. He had been hit in the head with a heavy object and that caused his brain to swell. He was brutally raped multiple times, and he had injuries from those acts alone. When it came to the beatings that Roman received, he had a fractured jaw. He won't be allowed to chew food for a few weeks, and that means he will be fed food through a tube.
That was all they got before the doctor had to go back to Roman. The boys told Hunter and Stephanie when they got there. Seth was so upset. He knew Marek would come back for him, but he didn't understand why he needed to hurt Roman. This was between him and Marek.
Later that night, Dean was asleep with Renee and his parents. Seth couldn't sleep. He went into Roman's room. "Hi Ro. I am so sorry this happened to you. I should have known that he was going to try something like this. When he came into the Performance Center that day I should have gone home and packed what I needed and took Addison and ran. That way you would have been safe. I hate that you are here in this state because of me and my past mistakes. You don't deserve this. That's why I am here. I have to say goodbye. I knew it was all too good to be true. When I find Addison, and I will, she will come back to you. She is safe with you, and I am happy that you are her father. Seth kissed Roman and then left.
Meet me at my house in 20 minutes. You know where I live. Seth sent the text to Marek. He thought he would never text him again, but life never worked out for him. Getting to his house, Seth waited for Marek, but he didn't have to wait long.
"You always come back to me." Marek said to Seth when he walked up to him. Marek knew that Seth would come back, he just had to hit the right buttons for him to do so.
"Marek, please just give Addison back to Roman and I will do whatever you want. I just need to know that she is okay. Please." Seth said to his ex husband.
"She is my daughter. Why would I ever give her back? If I have her, you wouldn't leave me again." Marek said back to Seth.
"Roman officially adopted her Marek. We were going to be a family. She is his. I won't leave you ever again, but you have to give her back to him." Seth said to Marek. He was willing to leave his daughter and the man he loves in order to keep them safe.
Marek grabbed Seth by the hair and yanked his head back when he heard that Roman had adopted his daughter. "You fucker. You had that man adopt what was mine."
"Marek, please just let her go. She had enough happen to her. You don't need her, you'll have me. That's what you really want, right?" Seth was pleading with Marek to let his daughter go.
"I did all of this to get you to break and come back to me, where you belong." Marek said in Seth's face.
"Message received Marek. I'm sorry I ran away, but you have me now. Leave them alone, and I will go back with you to Iowa. I will do whatever you want. Please." Seth said. He didn't know what else to do to get him to let Addie go.
Seth went back to the hospital and woke up Hunter and his family. "Seth, how did you find Addison?" Stephanie woke up to see Seth standing with her granddaughter.
"I made a deal with the devil. Roman has full custody of her. He is rightfully her father, and I trust Roman to do right by her. I gave her up so she can live the life she deserves with Roman and with all of you, you all can do that for her. I can't, and I never could. I tried to give her a good life, but my past mistakes have finally caught up with me. I'm sorry. Tell Roman that I love him, and I always will, but I can't be with him. I have to give up my life to make sure he and Addison can live theirs." Seth gave Stephanie the engagement ring that Roman had given him.
"Waddy." Addie hugged her daddy and wouldn't let go.
"I love you Addison. I hope one day you can forgive me." Seth said back to his little girl that he gave birth to two years ago. He would give his life for her in a heartbeat. With that being said, he walked away from his happiness.
