Earlier that day

Sleeping soundly in her soft bed, Jordan Voight was in a blissful peaceful sleep. Turning she woke up to see the other side of her bed empty. Her husband, Theo, was in the Marines and currently overseas on a tour. She missed him. They hadn't realized they had feelings for each other until they had graduated high school.

Her bedroom door opened and the small pitter patter of footsteps, her 8-year-old son, Justin had entered her room. When her son was born she knew without a doubt he'd be named after 2 of the strongest male figures in her life. Her beloved father and brother.

The little boy climbed the bed but was careful, he knew his mother was carrying his little sister. He climbed under the blanket on his father's side and laid there. Feeling the movement on the bed and the soft tickling of hair she peeked her eyes open to see her beautiful little boy.

"Good morning mommy," Justin says.

"And good morning to you my sweet boy" Jordan smiled, kissing his forehead.

"Are we gonna see Grandpa today?"

"You bet we will, he'll pick you up after school today while I'm at work"

Jordan was the top detective in the CPD, she had a lot of offers to join various units. Robbery-Homicide, Vice, Straight Homicide, she had gotten an offer to return to her father's old Gang unit. She turned them all down. There was only one place for her.

Intelligence. The best of the best. It was her one and only home. The unit was now run by Jay Halstead who was Sergeant, when Hank retired he passed the unit to Jay. Adam and Kevin had remained, they had finally become detectives. Hailey had left taking a job offer in New York. Kim was the Sergeant of Patrol after Trudy had retired. Also on the team were Eva and Diego Dawson, like Jordan they had wanted to follow in their father's footsteps. Diego had come over from Major Crimes, Eva she worked in computer crimes. But in the end they did their fathers and families justice by continuing their legacy.

Being pregnant a second time, she knew no field work the most Jay and her father would let her do was desk work and paperwork. Hank made it clear if Jordan went into the field he'd have Jay's head. Even with Hank retired he still managed to scare the hell out of his former team.

Jordan was getting herself and her son ready for the day, so she made him breakfast. The front door opened with her father coming inside.

"Morning dad" Jordan greeted her father.

"Hey sweetheart" He kissed her head like always.

"Grandpa" Justin ran to hug him.

The older man smiled looking at his grandson. "There's my little man"

Hank hoisted the little boy on his hip, he looked so much like his daughter but part of him saw his son in his grandson. His son would have loved his nephew just like he would love Daniel.

"Breakfast is already on the cabinet, coffee is ready, Justin has to be at school by 7:45 and pick up time is-" Jordan rambled being cut off by her father chuckling.

"Jo, you know I have done this before"

"Alright I'm going"

She kissed her son's head then her father's cheek then left, she gave them one last look before going out. She drove to the district, it wasn't a long drive. Soon she arrived. Looking over at the desk she saw Kim setting up for the day, at first it was different not seeing Trudy. Jordan knew nobody would be able to pry her godmother from behind the desk until now.

She went over. "Hey Kim, how's everything?"

Kim was expecting hers and Adam's baby. "She's good and everything is great"

"And the baby?" She looked at Kim's flat stomach.

"Baby is good. How's yours doing?"

"Justin is a handful but I love him, and little Anna is still growing"

"Your mom and brother would be so proud of you Jo. You overcame and accomplished so much, now you're an amazing mother"

She smiled sadly. "Thanks Kim"

"Get going before you're late" She teased.

Jordan chuckled. "I'm sure the Sarge won't mind if I'm late"

The women chuckled, Jordan had gone upstairs while Kim started assigning her patrol officers their assignments. Walking into the squad she felt like a kid still. The squad was the same and so were some of the people. Adam and Kevin joking around as always, the Dawson siblings were chatting it up. They all saw Jordan and hugged her like always, she went to Jay's office to see him sitting there looking over paperwork.

"You look bored as hell," Jordan commented.

Jay looked up and smiled. "I would say you're late but I can make an exception"

"I'm late by what two minutes" She chuckled.

The Sergeant chuckled. "How you been kiddo"

She chuckled again. " You realize I'm not a kid anymore right"

"You'll always be a kid to us. How are you feeling?"

"Pregnant. Happy"

"And your dad?"

"Bored as hell like you but he's happy. He helps as much as he can with Justin"

"That's good to hear. He called to remind me to tell you no field work or he'll have our heads"

She laughed. "Sounds like him"

"Get to work kid"

"Right away Sarge"

Jordan had gone to her desk to start the stack of paperwork.

Meanwhile

A tall man had left the district after following Jordan, he started driving to the school where Justin went. He had a badge to help him get the young boy. He arrived at the school and headed inside to the office. The secretary saw him.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Yes. I need to pick up Justin Voight. His mother had been injured in the field. I was sent to transport him to the hospital" The man replies smoothly.

"Do you have a badge or ID?"

The man pulled his ID and badge out and showed the secretary, she nodded then she passed him the sign out book. He just scribbled. A few moments later a woman came down with Justin and the young boy looked scared.

"Is my mom ok?" He just about cried, he was ready to burst into tears.

"She's just fine, it's nothing big. She and your Grandpa Hank sent me to come get you"

"You know my Grandpa Hank?"

"Yeah, me and him are very old friends. Your mom and I too"

"Do you have a police badge like they do?"

One thing Jordan had always done, tell her son about stranger danger and to never go anywhere with anyone. The good guys were the ones with the badges. The man smiled and showed the young boy his badge, Justin looked and took his hand. The two walked out, the tall man put him in the back of the car and closed it.

He then drove off with the young boy. As he drove he had a smirk on his face. This was the ultimate revenge.

Soon the afternoon came and Hank had gone to pick up his grandson, he waited outside like he did with Jordan. All the kids had left the build all except Justin. Hank's stomach was turning in knots. Something wasn't right. He went into the office.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for my grandson, Justin Voight," Hank said to the secretary.

"Mr. Voight, someone already came to get him. He said your daughter was injured in the line of duty"

That had caused Hank's heart to drop; he rushed out of the school and called Jay. Jay was finishing a report when his phone rang.

-Halstead. He answered.

-Where's Jordan? Hank asked, trying to keep his voice straight.

That had confused the Sergeant. What was Hank talking about? Everyone knew Jordan was under orders to stay at the district due to her pregnancy.

-Hank, Jordan's here in the district. She hasn't left all day. What's going on?

-I went to get Justin from school, they said someone picked him up because Jordan was hurt in the field.

Jay felt his heart sink, slowly he closed his eyes. Did the worst come true? Has someone kidnapped Jordan's son?

-I'll tell Jordan.

-I'll look for Justin.

-Hank you can't.

-The hell I can't! That's my grandson in case you forgot.

Before Jay could respond to his former Sergeant the phone went out. He sighed. Now to do the hardest thing, he got up and went out to see Jordan. She was smiling and happy. And he was about to break that.

"Hey Jo, you got a second?" Jay says.

"Yeah" She carefully got up and went to Jay's office.

Jay shot them a look and immediately they knew something was wrong. Once Jordan was in the office Jay had shut the door and she sat down and he sat on the edge of the desk with a sad look.

"Jay what's wrong? Is my dad alright? Is Justin? Theo?"

"Jordy" He used her old childhood nickname, hopefully it would soften the blow that was about to come. "Something happened but I don't want you to get upset or stressed out"

Her heart raced in her chest, her anxiety skyrocketing. "Jay, what's wrong?"

"Jo, someone picked Justin up from school under false pretenses. They said you were injured in the field"

Just like that her heart stopped. No. Someone had kidnapped her son. Some evil bastard had her little boy. The air had been sucked from her lung, she couldn't breathe. She had lost all the color in her face. Immediately he bent down to her.

"We will find him Jordy. Mark my word"

"Jay" She choked out. "Not my baby"

"We will find him"

"I..I need to go find him"

"No, no. Jo you're pregnant, something can happen to you or the baby. Not to mention your father will have my head"

"I need to find my little boy!"

"We will. You need to sit out and relax"

Jordan couldn't think straight, she couldn't breathe. This must have been how her father felt when she was taken. She had to find her little boy, she just had to. Everything around her stopped and froze. Time had frozen. She had never thought this would happen.

One thing Jordan knew, whoever took her beloved son. Hell will be unleashed in Chicago. Hell hath no fury than a mother scorned. A Voight at that.
