Chapter 5 Judging
Yuki's POV
"Hello mother", I greeted as she walked into Ayame's living room.
"Hello Yuki", my mother greeted.
Then, she noticed the amount of people in the room.
"Who are all these people", she asked.
"Well", I started as I went up to Kakeru. "This is Kakeru Manabe. Him and I were on the student council together. And this is Kakeru's girlfriend Komaki Nakao."
"It's an honour to meet you ma'am", Komaki greeted as both her and Kakeru bowed their heads.
After they did, I went up to the very nervous Machi and held her hand.
"And this is Machi Kuragi", I revealed. "She is my girlfriend."
Me saying this took my mother by surprise.
"Girlfriend", she asked in shock. "Since when do you have a girlfriend Yuki?"
"We've been together for a little while", I revealed.
After I said this, my mother looked at Machi and began examining her.
The latter looked like she was about to be sick.
Machi's POV
Yuki's mother began to examine me, and it made me feel sick.
Her eyes. The way she was looking at me. She was silently judging me. I could tell, because I had seen that same judging look on my mother's face so many times.
And now…seeing it on Yuki's mother's face…I wanted to run. I wanted to hide. I felt like I was going to be sick and throw up.
Thankfully…Yuki noticed me…and he held my hand tighter.
It was a simple gesture, but it calmed me down greatly.
"Well then", Ayame started, having also noticed how nervous I had become. "We have a lovey dinner waiting for us."
…
As we all sat at the dinner table, I could still feel Yuki's mother's gaze on me. I could feel her still silently judging me.
"So", she started breaking the silence. "Ms Kuragi, how did you and my son meet?"
"We were both in the student council", I revealed.
"I see", Yuki's mother said. "What college are you going to?"
"Actually", I started. "I'm still in high school."
"You are", Yuki's mother asked in shock.
"I am", I replied. "I'm a year younger thank Yuki."
"I see", Yuki's mother said. "Well then, what college do you plan on going to after you graduate from high school next year?"
"I'm going to try and get into the same college Yuki is going to", I revealed.
"You can do much better dear", Yuki's mother stated. "Honestly, I don't have any idea why my son chose this college like he did. He should've just left it up to me like what had been originally planned."
"Honestly mother", Ayame started. "Is there really any point in bringing that up now? Yuki is leaving for the college HE CHOSE tomorrow."
"Thank you Ayame", Yuki thanked. "But I can handle this myself."
With that, Yuki looked his mother straight in the eye, and said this.
"Mother", he started. "I have made my choice and I am sticking to it."
