Chapter 8 Getting Married?!

Hatori's POV

I was in a café with Ayame and Shigure.

"So", the latter started. "How was your trip to Okinawa with Mayu?"

"Eh", I replied shrugging. "It was alright. We did all the typical vacation stuff. We went to the beach. Did a lot of sightseeing. Oh, and I asked Mayu to marry me."

"That's nice", both Ayame and Shigure said.

I simply drank my coffee as I waited for them to process the last part of my sentence.

"Wait", they said when they did. "What?!"

I didn't say anything and just smirked into my coffee cup instead.

"You asked Mayu to marry you while you were on vacation in Okinawa", Shigure asked in shock.

"Yep", I replied.

"That's so romantic", Ayame stated. "Look at that Gure. Our dear Hatori can actually be romantic!"

"Yeah, yeah", I said.

"Wait", Shigure started. "She said yes right?"

"Would I be telling you if she said no", I asked.

However, Ayame and Shigure did not answer. Instead, they clasped hands while jumping up and down and squealing like a bunch of school girls.

"I can't believe it", Ayame said. "Our dear Hatori is getting married!"

"Who knew that out of the three of us he would be the first to get married", Shigure asked.

"When is the wedding", Ayame asked.

"Mayu and I were talking about having it at the start of Summer vacation", I replied. "That's the best way to make sure everybody we want to can attend."

"Then there is not a moment to waste", Ayame stated as he suddenly stood up. "I must get the wedding planning underway. I must also get to work on Mayu's dress!"

"Yes", Shigure started as he got up as well. "After all, we are Hatori's best men."

With that, Ayame and Shigure got up and left.

"Wait a minute", I started as I went after them. "I never agreed to letting you guys plan the wedding! Or designing Mayu's dress! Or being the men of honour!"

Mayu's POV

I was hanging out with Kana at her place.

Currently, she was baring a slightly visible baby bump.

"You're beginning to show", I said.

"Isn't it great", Kana asked. "I'm so excited to be a mother!"

Hearing Kana talk so excitedly about being a mother made me smile.

I wonder if Hatori wants kids? I would love to be a mother too.

"You need to hurry up and get married and have kids too Mayu", Kana commanded. "That way, our children can be friends!"

"Actually", I started. "That's what I wanted to talk about."

"What do you mean", Kana started. "Don't tell me…are you and Hatori getting married?!"

My answer was me nervously biting down on my lip.

Kana squealed before tackling me into a hug.

"I can't believe it", she said. "You're getting married! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!"

"Thank you", I said. "Speaking of me getting married, I was wondering if you wanted to be my maid of honour?"
