Chapter 10 Motoko
Machi's POV
I was at school, putting on my shoes, when another student angrily walked up to me.
"Are you Machi Kuragi", she asked.
"Yes", I replied. "And you are?"
"My name is Motoko Minagawa", the other student replied. "I am the president of the Prince Yuki Sohma fan club! Some of my fellow club members tell me that you said that the prince was not princely at all! How dare you say such a thing?!"
"I was only giving my honest opinion", I replied. "And it's true. The president isn't princely at all."
"Oh really", Minagawa asked. "Then tell me Kuragi, what is he?"
"He's an airhead", I replied bluntly.
"You say that so bluntly", Minagawa pointed out.
"But most of all", I added. "He seems lonely."
"That's ridicules", Minagawa stated. "How can the prince be lonely? He's surrounded by people who love him!"
"People who don't really know the real him", I corrected.
"Oh", Minagawa started. "And you do?"
"No", I replied. "I don't. But neither do you."
"What", Minagawa asked angrily. "I know plenty of things about the prince!"
"Oh really", I asked as I stood up. "Do you know what his favourite colour is?"
No answer.
"Any of his hobbies?"
Still no answer.
"If he has any siblings?"
Minagawa didn't have an answer to any of these questions, but she shook her head and tried to change the subject.
"Do you know any of those things", she asked.
"I don't", I replied. "But that just means that both you and I don't really know him."
…
I was both shocked and confused.
Why was the former president of Yuki's fan club standing outside of his apartment?
"Minagawa", I said in shock.
"Kuragi", Minagawa said in shock. "What are you doing in Yuki's apartment?"
"What are you doing outside of Yuki's apartment", I asked.
"Oh", Minagawa started. "Yuki and I go to the same college."
Well, that took me by surprise.
"Wh…what", I asked in shock.
"Yeah", Minagawa replied. "I'm here because he left one of his books on campus."
With that, I noticed the book in Minagawa's hands.
"Oh", I said.
"Now", Minagawa started. "Why are you in Yuki's apartment?"
With that, I took a deep breath before giving my answer.
"Yuki and I…are dating."
After I said this, I waited for Minagawa's wrath.
"You are", she asked. "That's great!"
Once again, I was taken by surprise.
"You're not mad", I asked in shock.
"Why", Minagawa asked. "Because my dear prince has been stolen by someone else? That no longer matters to me, because I now have a boyfriend!"
Hearing this made me sigh in relief.
"Kuragi", Minagawa started. "You were right."
"Right about what", I asked.
"Right about me not knowing anything about Yuki", Minagawa replied. "I liked his princely persona, but that wasn't the true him at all. You were able to see that."
My response to this was to simply blush.
"While", Minagawa started as she handed me Yuki's book. "I gotta get going! Bye Kuragi!"
With that, Minagawa left.
I thought about what had just happened…and smiled.
I'm glad that Minagawa realised the truth about who Yuki truly is.
I was about to go back into the apartment, when I heard this.
"Machi?"
I turned my head…and my heart swelled.
Standing in front of me…was Yuki.
I could do nothing but smile like an idiot.
"You're here", Yuki said happily as he walked up to me. "I'm glad to see that the key I gave you was put to good use."
After Yuki said this…he smiled before hugging me.
"I missed you Machi."
"I missed you too Yuki."
