Chapter 20 Truth
Machi's POV
I was laying in bed as I thought about what Ayame said to me yesterday.
"You must fight for your relationship with your younger brother!"
I want to, but if I do…
Before my thoughts could carry on for any longer…there was a flurry of angry knocks at my front door.
I walked up to and opened it, and was surprised at who I saw.
It was…my mother?
"Mother", I asked in confusion. "What are you doing…"
Before I could finish asking my question…I felt a sudden sting in my cheek.
I looked at my mother…who's hand was raised, and who was glaring at me with an angry expression.
"How dare you", she asked angrily. "How dare you come anywhere near my son?!"
"Wait", I started in confusion. "He told you about coming…"
"I'm only going to tell you this once", my mother said with so much anger that it shut me up. "If I find out that you were anywhere near my son again, you will be sorry!"
With that, my mother slammed my own front door in front of me.
Since I was standing right in front of it, it knocked right into my forehead and knocked me to the floor!
Once I had recovered, I stared at my front door, confused at what had just happened.
The Next Day
I was sitting in class when my fan club worryingly rushed up to me.
"Princess", one of the members started in concern. "Are you alright?"
"You have a bruise on your forehead", another one of the members pointed out.
"Who hurt you", another one of the members asked angrily. "Tell us who it was, and when we find them, we'll make them pay for hurting our beloved princess!"
"Calm down", I reassured. "Nobody hurt me, I fell on my way to school and I hit my head."
That Afternoon
I was walking home from school…when I suddenly noticed something.
I saw Jiro also walking home from school.
He noticed me, but I quickly turned around and started walking away, my mother's warning ringing in my ear.
However, as I was walking…I suddenly felt someone grab onto my hand.
I turned around…and saw Jiro.
"Jiro", I asked.
"Machi", Jiro started. "My mom told me something that I need to task you about!"
Hearing this made me turn around to face Jiro.
"What…what did she tell you", I asked.
"She told me…", Jiro started. "She told me that you tried to kill me!"
Hearing this took me by surprise.
"Is it true?!"
I was about to answer 'yes', but then I remembered Ayame's words.
"You must fight for your relationship with your younger brother!"
My mind wasmade up.
"No", I replied. "I didn't."
After saying this, I looked at Jiro with tears now beginning to fall from my eyes.
"I didn't try to kill you Jiro", I exclaimed. "I was only trying to keep you warm!"
