Chapter 2 Liam
Raven's POV
The Next Day
I was in my dorm room, staring at myself in the mirror as I examined how I looked in my school uniform.
As I was doing this, there was a knock on my door.
"Coming", I yelled.
Then, I grabbed my backpack before opening my door, and seeing Damian.
I couldn't help but stare at him when I saw him wearing his school uniform.
"What are you staring at", he asked when he noticed me staring.
"Oh", I started as I blushed, embarrassed that I had been caught in the act. "It's nothing. Seeing you in a school uniform is just different. That's all."
"I see", Damian started. "Well, come on. Let's go get breakfast."
…
Damian and I were eating breakfast in the school's dinning hall.
"You know", I started. "It sucks that we won't get to see each other that much during the day since we're in different grades."
"Yeah", Damian agreed. "But at least we can have lunch together. And all the grades also do PE at the same time on the outdoor sports field."
I was about to say something else, when this happened.
"Yo", I heard somebody yell. "Damian!"
After I heard this, I looked over Damian's shoulder…and saw a male student.
He had short, light brown hair that was styled into a bridge, light brown eyes and pale skin.
"What's up Damian", he greeted as he sat down next to said person. "Good to see you again. How was your Summer break?"
"It was good", Damian replied, leaving me astonished.
Is Damian…willingly engaging in a conversation with another person?
After this thought crossed my mind…the boy finally noticed me.
"Who's this", he asked Damian. "Friend of yours?"
"This is Rav…Rachel Roth", Damian revealed. "She's a friend of mine. Rav…Rachel, this is Liam Smith. We were in the same class together last year."
"Nice to meet you", the boy (who I now knew was named Liam) greeted as he held out his hand.
I looked at it in shock. Then…I smiled before taking Liam's hand.
"It's nice to meet you too."
…
Damian was walking me to my first class of the day.
"So", I started. "Is Liam a friend of yours?"
"I guess you can say that", Damian replied.
This made me smile, which Damian noticed.
"Okay", he started. "What's with that face?"
"Oh", I started. "It's nothing. It's just…I'm surprised that you out of all people actually made a friend."
"Ha ha", Damian said mockingly. "But, I guess you're not wrong there."
"How'd you two even become friends", I asked.
"It happened last year", Damian started. "There was a assignment in which everybody in the class was split into pairs. Usually, nobody approached me to be their partner. But this time, Liam did."
Hearing this story made me smile again.
"Anyway", Damian started as we stopped in front of my classroom. "Here we are. Good luck on your first day."
