Chapter 3 First Class

Raven's POV

After Damian left, I took a deep breath, made sure that my hoodie was covering the jewel on my forehead, and walked into class.

I kept my head down and sat at a desk in the back of the classroom.

A moment later, the teacher came in and class began.

"Good morning everyone", they greeted. "Welcome to the first day of school. Before we begin, I believe that we have a new student joining us this year."

Please don't be me. Please don't be me.

"Rachel Roth."

It's me.

"Ms Roth", the teacher called out.

Then…I stood up.

"H…here", I said nervously.

"Oh", the teacher said when they saw me. "There you are Ms Roth. Would you please come to the front of the class?"

Crap.

After I thought this to myself, I took a deep breath, and then…I began to make my way towards the front of the classroom.

I made sure to keep my hood up the whole time, and while I was walking…I heard some of my classmates whispering."

"Who is she?"

"I have no idea."

"Why does she keep her hood up like that?"

When I got to the front of the class, I took another deep breath before turning around to face everyone.

I kept my head down, the whole time making sure that my hood was covering the jewel on my forehead.

"No need to be shy", the teacher reassured. "Why don't you introduce yourself?"

"O…okay", I said nervously. "Um…h…hello. My name is Rav…Rachel Roth. It's…very nice to meet you all."

"Very good", the teacher stated. "Well then, you can return to your seat now."

With that…I practically ran to my desk, sat down, and covered my face with a book.

The lesson went on, and I could hear everybody whispering.

The rest of the morning seemed to drag on forever.

When it was finally over…I practically booked it to the dinning hall.

I frantically looked around, and sighed in relief when I found Damian.

"I'm I glad to see you", I revealed as I sat down next to him.

"Why", Damian asked.

Then, I went on to tell him what had happened.

"Why were you so nervous", Damian asked.

"I…I…I really don't like having attention put on me", I revealed.

"Welcome to the club", Damian stated.

"Yeah", I started. "But you don't get flustered like I do. You just act cold and anti-social instead!"

"You say that so bluntly", Damian said. "But you're not wrong."

After Damian said this, he sighed in annoyance.

"I wish you and I were in the same grade", he revealed. "Then maybe we could have been in the same class."

"Yeah", I agreed. "It would've been much easier for me if there had been a familiar face."

"Thankfully it's just the first day", Damian said. "It shouldn't be as bad after today."

"I hope you're right about that."
