Chapter 7 Jennifer's Love Confession

Raven's POV

The Next Day

I walked into class and saw Jennifer.

I took a deep breath before walking up to her.

"Good morning Jennifer", I greeted.

"Oh", Jennifer started. "Good morning Rachel. May I help you?"

"I was wondering", I started nervously. "Are you free to talk after class?"

"Huh", Jennifer asked. "I mean…sure. I can talk to you after class."

Later That Day

Jennifer and I were sitting on a bench.

"So", she started. "What did you want to talk about?"

"I was just wondering", I started nervously. "Jennifer, do you…do you like Damian?"

"Wh…what", Jennifer asked nervously. "Why would you asked such a thing?!"

"Well", I started. "Its just…yesterday when you came to talk to me, you asked if I was Damian's girlfriend, and when I asked you why you wanted to know that, you got nervous and ran out of the room."

After I said this, Jennifer looked down as if she was deep in thought.

"Jennifer", I started. "I'm going to asked again, and I want an honest answer. Do you like Damian?"

"I…", Jennifer started nervously.

Then…she took a deep breath before looking at me with new found confidence.

"I do", she replied. "I like Damian very much!"

After Jennifer said this, I looked at her in shock.

So…she does like Damian.

For some reason…knowing that made me suddenly feel sad.

"O…oh", I said with a sad smile as I turned to look away from Jennifer.

"You look sad", she pointed out before gasping. "Wait a minute! Do you like Damian too!"

"What", I said nervously. "No! No! No! I don't like Damian at all!"

"You don't", Jennifer asked.

"I don't", I stated. "And even if I did…I don't think Damian and I would make a good match."

"I see", Jennifer said. "Well then, if that's the case, then…you wouldn't mind if I told Damian how I felt, would you?!"

Hearing this caused me to look at Jennifer in shock.

"You want to tell Damian how you feel", I asked. "When?"

"I'll do it after school", Jennifer revealed. "Is that okay?"

She's going to tell Damian how she feels? Today?

"Yeah. That's okay."

…

Knowing that a girl was going tell Damian that she liked him made it hard for me to look at him.

And he noticed this.

"Okay Raven", he started as he followed me from behind. "What's with the cold shoulder?"

"What cold shoulder", I asked

"The one you're giving me", Damian replied. "Did I do something to upset you?"

Before I could answer, this happened.

"Damian!"

I looked over Damian's shoulder…and saw Jennifer.

"Oh", Damian started. "Hey Jen."

"Hey Damian", Jennifer greeted. "Can I talk to you?"

"I'll see you guys later."

With that, I walked away.

I stopped to turn around, and saw Jennifer holding Damian's hands as she poured her heart out to him.

My heart pained. So I looked away and left.
