Episode 7 Who Are You, Alice?
Dan and his friends were sitting together at their school, when suddenly, Tatsuya walked up to them.
"Great", Runo started. "Let me guess? You're ready for the next battle in our little tournament?"
"Ready as I'll ever be sweetheart", Tatsuya replied.
"Do. Not. Call me. Sweetheart", Runo commanded.
"Whatever you say sweetheart", Tatsuya said.
"Can you please just tell us who your next competitor is", Runo asked.
"I will", Tatsuya started. "It's actually somebody you guys know."
With that, the next competitor walked up to the group, causing them to be surprised.
Why? Because the next competitor was none other than Ryo.
"Ryo", Shun asked.
"Hello Shun", Ryo greeted.
"You're the next competitor", Dan asked.
"That's right", Ryo replied.
"So", Tatsuya started. "Which one of you ladies dares to face the great Ryo?"
For a moment, nobody answered. But then…somebody did, and that somebody…was Alice.
"I will", she replied.
"You will", Shun asked.
"I will", Alice repeated.
"Alright then", Tatsuya said. "Let's get this battle started then!"
With that…everybody took out their field cards.
"Bakugan, field open!"
…
Everybody was now in the battle field.
"Doom Card set", Ryo yelled before setting said card.
"Gate Card set", Ryo and Alice yelled before both throwing said cards.
"Bakugan brawl", Ryo yelled before throwing a Bakugan onto his Gate Card. "Bakugan stand!"
With that, a Darkus Fear Ripper appeared.
Darkus Fear Ripper at 320 Gs
"My turn", Alice said before throwing another card. "Gate Card set!"
With that, a Gate Card was set.
"Bakugan brawl", Alice yelled before throwing a Bakugan onto said Gate Card. "Bakugan stand!"
With that, a Darkus Terrorclaw appeared.
Darkus Terrorclaw at 290 Gs.
"My turn again", Ryo yelled. "Gate Card set!"
With that, a Gate Card was set.
"Bakugan brawl", Ryo yelled before throwing a Bakugan onto his Gate Card. "Bakugan stand!"
With that, a Darkus Mantris appeared.
Darkus Mantris at 290 Gs.
"Ability Card activate", Ryo yelled. "Marionette!"
"Not this again", Shun said.
With that, Mantris moved Terrorclaw over to the Gate Card it was on.
"Gate Card open", Ryo yelled. "Darkus Normal!"
Mantris Gs increased by 250 Gs. Mantris now at 540 Gs. Darkus Terrorclaw still at 290 Gs.
"Oh no", Alice said.
"Oh yes", Ryo said. "Take them out Mantris!"
With that, Mantris attacked Terrorclaw…and the latter was sent to the Doom Dimension.
"Terrorclaw", Alice yelled.
With that, Mantris returned to Ryo, who smiled wickedly.
Alice on the other hand…was not happy.
"How could you do this", she asked. "How could you send innocent Bakugan to the Doom Dimension?"
"Please", Tatsuya started. "They are nothing more than toys."
"You're wrong", Alice stated.
Then, she threw another Bakugan.
"Bakugan brawl", she yelled. "Bakugan stand!"
With that, a Darkus Juggernoid appeared.
Darkus Juggernoid at 320 Gs.
"Bakugan brawl", Ryo yelled before throwing a Bakugan onto the same card as Juggernoid. "Bakugan stand!"
With that, Mantris appeared once again.
"Ability Card activate", Ryo yelled. "Doom Companion!"
"Doom Companion", Alice yelled.
"What does Doom Companion do", Runo asked.
She got her answer…when both Mantris and Juggernoid were both sent to the Doom Dimension!
"Juggernoid", Alice yelled. "Mantris!"
"No way", Runo said.
"He sent both his own Bakugan to the Doom Dimension", Julie asked.
"Not cool man", Dan stated.
The group then turned to look at Alice, who was anything but happy.
"Alice", Shun said in concern before going up to her and putting his hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?"
After Shun said this…he noticed something.
Alice's eyes…were turning purple!
"Alice", Shun said in confusion.
Then…purple energy shot out of Alice's eyes, and it transformed into…a mask.
"Wow", Dan said in shock. "Alice?"
"What's going on Alice", Runo asked in concern.
But Alice didn't answer. Instead, she stared at Ryo angrily.
"Bakugan brawl", she yelled before throwing a Bakugan onto the Gate Card Fear Ripper was on. "Bakugan stand!"
With that…a Darkus Robotallion appeared.
Darkus Robotallion at 320 Gs.
"Ability Card activate", Alice yelled. "Robotallion Enforcement!"
Robotallion Gs increase by 40 Gs. Robotallion now at 360 Gs. Fear Ripper still at 320 Gs.
With that…Fear Ripper was wiped out.
"No matter", Ryo stated. "It's over for you anyway."
With that, Ryo threw a Bakugan onto the same Gate Card as Robotallion.
"Bakugan Brawl", he yelled. "Reaper stand!"
With that…Reaper appeared.
"It's that Bakugan again", Dan pointed out.
"The one who's partner is the one who's been handing out Doom Cards", Shun reminded.
"Finish this Reaper", Ryo commanded.
And he did.
…
The battle was over, and Alice had lost.
"Ah huh", Tatsuya cried triumphantly. "Take that! You ladies better pick up the slack. One more win and us guys win!"
Runo just growled at Tatsuya as he left with Ryo.
She then turned to look at Alice, who was on her knees and crying.
"Everybody", she started. "I am so sorry."
"It's okay", Runo stated as she put her hands on Alice's shoulders. "It's not your fault."
"Alice", Shun started getting her attention. "What was that?"
"What was what", Alice asked.
"Your eyes", Shun started. "They turned purple."
"Yeah", Julie said. "And a mask suddenly appeared on your face!"
For some reason…hearing this made Alice very nervous.
"Alice", Shun started. "Who are you?"
Hearing this…Alice sighed sadly.
"Let's go somewhere better to talk."
…
The group was at Runo's family restaurant.
They were all looking at Alice, waiting for her to explain her story.
"Where to begin", she started. "I guess I'll start off by saying where I am from. I am from Moscow."
"Wow", Julie started. "You're from Moscow? That's so cool!"
"Julie", Marucho started. "That's not the most important thing right now."
"Right", Julie said. "Sorry. Please carry on."
"Okay", Alice said. "For the longest time, I lived with my grandfather. He was a scientist, and he was working on a Dimensional Transporter System."
"A Dimensional Transporter…what", Dan asked.
"A device that could be used to transport to other dimensions, I believe", Marucho clarified.
"Yes", Alice confirmed.
"Did it work", Marucho asked.
"One day", Alice started. "My grandfather went missing. It was the day all the Bakugan cards fell from the sky."
"Wait", Dan started. "Seriously?!"
"Yes", Alice replied. "The reason why those cards fell from the sky that day…was because my grandfather had accidentally opened a gate to Vestroia."
"So your grandfather is how Bakugan came to Earth", Shun asked.
"Yes", Alice replied. "After that day, my grandfather disappeared for about a month."
"For about a month", Shun asked. "Where was he?"
"He was in Vestroia."
"Wait a minute", Dan started. "Your grandfather was in Vestroia?!"
"Yes", Alice replied. "When he returned home, he saw my Bakugan card and was surprised, and decided to do more research. One day, I went into his lab to give him some lunch, but when I did…something happened."
Thinking about this memory made Alice shudder.
"What happened", Runo asked.
"Drago told you guys about Naga and what he did right", Alice asked. "Well, the same time he absorbed the Silent Core…was when my grandfather had just opened another gate to Vestroia."
"What happened", Runo asked.
"Absorbing the Silent Core resulted in a burst off negative energy", Alice revealed. "And some of this negative energy…hit me and my grandfather."
Hearing this took everybody by surprise.
"You and your grandfather were hit by negative energy from the Silent Core", Shun asked.
"Were you guys okay", Runo asked.
"No", Alice replied. "We weren't. The negative energy corrupted us. Transforming us into different people. My grandfather became Hal-G. And I…I became Masquerade."
"Masquerade", Shun asked.
"Yes", Alice replied. "In our new forms, my grandfather and I began working for Naga. Just like Reaper's partner, I would go around and give Doom Cards to other Brawlers."
After she said this, Alice started getting emotional.
"I…", she started. "I…I sent so many Bakugan to the Doom Dimension!"
After Alice said this…she broke down crying.
"There there", Runo started as she sat next to Alice and put her hands on her shoulders. "It's alright. It wasn't your fault."
"Yes it was", Alice stated. "All those innocent Bakugan…got sent to the Doom Dimension because of me!"
With that…Alice continued to cry…and Runo continued to comfort her.
"Alice", Shun started getting her attention. "It appears that you are no longer under the influence of the negative energy from the Silent Core?"
"I'm not", Alice confirmed. "It's thanks to Wyvern."
"Wyvern", Shun asked. "The Bakugan who healed my mother?"
"Yes", Alice replied. "The reason why Wyvern can heal people…is because she holds the Infinity Core inside of her."
"What's the Infinity Core", Dan asked.
"It is the counterpart to the Silent Core", Alice revealed. "While the Silent Core is the source of all negative energy, the Infinity Core is the source of all positive energy. Wyvern used this energy to save me. However, she was not able to get rid of all of the negative energy inside of me. Instead, the positive energy was able to counteract the negative energy."
"Meaning", Dan asked.
"Meaning I am living with energy from both the Silent Core and Infinty Core inside of me."
"That explains what happened during the battle", Dan said.
"What about your grandfather", Shun asked.
"Wyvern only had enough power to help me", Alice replied. "My grandfather is still under Naga's control."
"Alice", Runo started. "I'm so sorry."
"Thank you", Alice said.
"So", Runo started. "Who are you living with at the moment?"
"At the moment I live on my own", Alice replied.
"Well that won't do", Runo stated.
"What do you mean", Alice asked.
"I mean that you should come live with me and my parents!"
"What", Alice asked in shock. "No no. I couldn't!"
"You can", Runo stated. "And you will."
Upon hearing this…Alice started crying.
Then…she hugged Runo.
"Thank you!"
