This Fic uses some concepts I've not seen really explored in fanfiction or anything (at least from what I see) Now i know some people are going to be like "Oh X would never do that" or "X is so out of character" But rather than sit here and write out a lot of chapters to explain it and derail the story with things that aren't the focus of the story. I'll explain some of it as short and best as i can (if you've got any questions then feel free to leave them in your reviews and I'll address them on the next chapter). Essentially this fic focuses On a Evil Mufasa (Not overly evil but more like a neglectful father to Simba and a bully to his brother sort of evil. This is due to his father treating Mufasa as better than scar in this AU He turns out to be not the best father to Simba which is where the other part comes in)And focuses on a good Scar. (Basically due to his life growing up he despises his brother Mufasa. Uru, their mother dies about a year before Simba is born and Scar essentially makes a promise to her to not turn out like Mufasa and Ahadi. Scar would keep by his mother's dying wish. {Simba and Scar share a close bond due to Scar having suffered the neglect of his father and seeing it happen to Simba although Simba doesn't know it (Yet)} ). Now i better get on with this story before this note gets too long. Criticism and questions (That are reasonable and/or relevant and not silly, guest reviews will be removed if they fall under these ) are welcome and help me improve my work. Being nasty to other and/or me and/or any race, gender, ethnic, religion, etc will not be tolerated guests that do this will have their reviews removed and registered users will be blocked if they do this. I do not own The Lion King or it's assets it is owned by Disney. Any custom characters (or OCs) featured are my own creation (unless stated otherwise). Any correlation to anyone's characters is purely coincidental.
CHAPTER I
The Sun was beginning to rise on the Pridelands as the light of the golden sun began touching the tip of Pride Rock.
A little yellow cub no older than four months came running out of the den to the edge of Pride Rock.
He then ran back inside jumping and stepping over the sleepy lionesses towards his father.
"Dad Dad!. come on. Dad we gotta go!. Wake up!"
He gets to his father. as he jumps up on to his father.
"Dad! Dad."
His father however was less than pleased to be woken up.
"What is it now Simba?"
"But Dad you promised that-"
"I don't remember promising anything I have a very busy day ahead now go somewhere else."
"But dad."
"Go."
Simba then walked sadly away, his father had once again broke a promise.
Simba was blind to this and always assumed his father had his reasons.
His father had noticeably became more neglectful as Simba got older focusing on his kingly duties rather than his son.
Simba decided to go visit his favourite and only uncle.
He Went outside and ran over to where Scar usually slept.
Simba's Uncle had always been on his own at least from what Simba knew.
But he'd always make time for Simba.
"Hey Uncle Scar!."
As Scar turned around Simba ran into him nearly knocking him over.
"Careful there Simba you know i've got a bad back right now."
"Sorry Uncle I forgot."
"What brings you here so early?"
"*Sighs* Dad broke another promise."
'Again?' Scar thought 'That's the second time this week.'
A thought entered Scar's mind.
"Well has your father showed you the whole kingdom?"
"No that was what he promised we'd do today."
"Well why don't I show you the whole kingdom? I know a special place where you can see for quite a while."
Simba's face lit up at the thought of that.
"Really Uncle Scar?"
"Why of course I can't have my favourite nephew being sad."
"Heh I'm your only nephew."
"All the more reason to cheer you up."
No sooner had Scar said that Simba had started to race to a special place on Pride Rock.
"Slow down Simba."
"Sorry Uncle Scar."
Scar chuckled to himself it reminded him of himself all those years ago.
Sometimes he'd wish for those days to be back.
But he remembers how he was treated back then.
He'd hope Simba wouldn't need to go through the pain he suffered.
He and Simba then went to that special place.
When they arrived there they could see the vast savannahs and rivers.
"Woah."
"You see Simba everything the light touches is our kingdom."
"All of that? Out there?, Wow."
"A king's reign rises and falls like the sun."
"And one day Simba you'll be king."
"And this will all be mine someday?"
"Everything"
"So when I'm king that must mean I can do whatever I want."
"Well there's more than being a king or ruler than getting your way all the time."
"There's more?"
"Ha ha oh you are funny Simba."
Soon they both walked down pride rock into the savannahs below.
"Every living thing here exists in a delicate balance."
"As a king or ruler you need to understand that balance and respect all creatures from the ant to the antelope"
"But Uncle Scar don't we eat the antelope"
"Yes my dear nephew but let me explain when we die our bodies become the grass and the antelope eat the grass."
"And so we are all connected in the great circle of life."
Just then Mufasa walked up
"Well I see you two are enjoying yourselves today."
"Yeah Uncle scar just showed me the whole kingdom."
"Did he now."
'That damned brother of mine why doesn't he leave my son alone.' Mufasa thought.
Mufasa was about to say something when Zazu flew in.
"Good morning sire."
Mufasa hid his anger and turned around.
"Good morning Zazu."
"Checking in with the morning report."
'Ugh not this again' Mufasa thought he always hated it when Zazu did his morning report.
"Fire Away."
As Zazu did the morning report A green katydid jumped in front of Simba.
Simba being the playful little cub he is decided to try to pounce it.
Though it didn't go quite how he wanted to.
though it did grab the attention of his uncle.
"What are you doing Simba."
As Simba fails to catch the katydid again moving his paws only to find nothing.
"Pouncing"
"Let an old pro show you how it's done."
Zazu then turned around.
'Perfect' Scar thought.
"Stay low to the ground."
"Try not to make a sound."
"Did someone say something?"
"Mufasa?"
"Scar?"
"Simba?"
Then Simba leaped into the air pouncing on Zazu.
"Very good Simba."
Mufasa chuckled a bit 'at least that shut that bird up' he thought.
"Now this time-"
"Sire hyenas in the Pridelands"
"Scar take Simba home"
"Dad can I come?"
"No son you'll stay with the other cubs."
And with that Mufasa left
"I never get to go anywhere"
"Well like your father said my dear nephew you are a cub"
"Oh young master one day you will be king and then you chase those slobbering mangy stupid poachers from dawn until dusk"
A LITTLE WHILE LATER
Mufasa had dealt with the hyenas.
While he enjoyed beating a few hyenas there were other thoughts on his mind.
'That brother of mine is always trying to undermine me and my son's relationship.'
'Uncle Scar taught me this today he's so cool.'
'Oh I need to find a way to get rid of him.'
'But if I do that then then I may have to get rid of my son too can't risk him interfering and knowing.'
'Hmm a heavy price but it must be done.'
'He can always be replaced.'
'He's too far gone anyway'
Just then a thought came into his mind.
'Yes that's it. it's perfect.' Mufasa thought as he ran off to the animals he knew could help him.
Mufasa ran to a area full of rocks and bones and bare dirt.
He stopped as wild dogs stared and growled from the upper parts of some rocks.
one wild dog then approached him looking at him before sniffing his scent.
"What is your reason for coming here Mufasa?"
"I've come to speak to your pack leader I believe he can help me out with something."
"Very well"
The wild dog began guiding Mufasa into the inner territory of the pack.
They then entered the den with wild dogs staring and growling, some even snapped at Mufasa.
Though they all stopped and went silent when a wild dog walking up he was sturdy built, slightly but noticeably bigger than the rest. he had a scar across one side of the bottom half of his face he had red eyes that sort of glowed in the darkness.
Both Mufasa and the wild dog made eye contact.
"Mufasa."
"Chaji."
"So what brings you out here to our territory?"
"I have a proposition to make with you and your pack."
"I'll be willing to listen."
"Excellent"
