Well shit, since there's already a couple of KOFtober" posts going around here, I might as well give it a shot – decided to make this separate from Shin Nihon Shitposts for convenience purposes (also because this won't be as 'wacky' as SNS tends to be sometimes).
Unlike what it seems like the others might do with their fanfic-takes on the 'KOFtober Prompts Challenge', I'll have several prompts put out within a single chapter, upwards to maybe five maximum in a chapter... (again can't make promises on how that'll turn out)? One thing I won't guarantee from this is whether I'll be able to do all 31 of the month, or if I'll be able to go through that whole month given my brutally-inconsistent pattern of updates.
DISCLAIMER:These prompt-drabbles will bounce between wholesomeness, relative-absurdity and just plain smut on a semi-regular occurrence – be prepared for that.
1st: Fire and Ice
Premise: K' and Kula trying to get comfortable with one another.
Years were spent under the umbrella of the 'Anti-NESTS' refugees, and yet Kula still couldn't get used to the warmth of those she worked closely with.
This was none more evident than whenever she tried to build her relationship with K' – it took a while for them to get used to sharing a bed, after some rough incidents resulted in Kula's separate accommodation being left to be repaired extensively.
The embrace the two had to resort to due to the small size of the shared bed was just a couple notches above Kula's personal comfort zone.
"Mmhfff... you're melting me..."
"Shut up," K' said back, slightly agitated. You're not a kid anymore."
She groaned back, "But it still hurts."
Their respective powers meant they were clear polar-opposites, particularly in the realm of physical contact.
Just trying to hold hands was a difficult task without some difficulty – one couldn't imagine what it would be like to get even closer.
"Please tell me you'll make me feel better~"
"I don't make promises, Kula..."
2nd: Technology
Premise: Angel has eyes on someone with similar (if less subtle) enhancements.
Ever since first witnessing the South-America team in the previous tournament, Angel was quickly fixed to one particular member and his very inhuman arm.
"So, Nels' – what else does that arm do, huh~?" She clung on pretty tightly to Nelson in the very first opportunity she had to meet up with him.
The boxer resisted, keeping steel nerves. "No deal, lady. Already got a fiancee back home – hoping she'll be alright by the time I head back."
Angel sighed, and her grasp tightened. "I was hoping you weren't gonna give me that sappy girlfriend crap."
Without warning, she vaulted over to the other side of him, with only the handling of his shoulder to elevate her.
"If you don't wanna have that kind of fun from the start, then give me something to be satisfied with from that thing."
"You better step off," he said.
She retorted, "Then try to make me budge."
He immediately became defensive as she played around, his cyber-arm swinging forth...
...only to be almost absorbed by her blocking – she didn't look as though she felt a thing as the strike shockwaved in her direction.
Nelson could safely confirm he wasn't dealing with any normal person – in fact, it may have reminded him too much of his own strength.
"...The hell are you?"
Angel smirked. "Thankful for the tech within my body. Much like you, no?"
Underground technology was not as uncommon a spectacle as you'd think within the high-calibur tournament...
3rd: Beast
Premise: Leona realizing the 'beastly' nature of the Orochi in ways she didn't expect.
Leona's Log: October 3rd, 20xx
Starting from the beginning to reflect where I was before:
Over the past few months, as tasked, I kept contact with one Iori Yagami. In the aftermath of various resurrections, it became part of our task to maintain order and prevent history from repeating itself. In regards to his own duties as part of the 'Three Sacred Treasures', he and his associates became willing to coexist with us for they are working towards a similar goal.
After months of recording my history with Yagami, I am able to recognize the escalation our growing relationship had taken – from an understanding, to respect, to a genuine sharing of spirits over our similar unfortunate upbringings.
Last night was the first time we agreed to sleep with one another in the same room. From there, it only recalls to me as a blur – but as far as I can tell, the morning after welcomed us both to a scene of collateral damage to almost everything around us in that bedroom, as though we had ravaged the scenery in a fit of something that was not quite the result of pure rage nor motivated intent.
From the lacerations we both woke up with, there's not much I could say; the strength of our Orochi roots – of the 'Beast' within – was strong in ways I never would've imagined.
I had the first three done for a little bit up to the 5th, but I lingered a little long on trying to get the next couple done, so I shortened it to the just the first 3 for this first chapter.
