Himiko Toga skipped to the car that was waiting for her, smiling. She'd spent the last seven days in Tartarus, waiting for her transfer to U.A. University to be completed. Even though her mind was now dead set on rushing to U.A. and getting her new life started, she spent the last week rotating through every emotion imaginable.

She'd felt happy, thinking of U.A., all the things she would get to do there and all the interesting people she would meet. She was finally going to get a chance to have the life she'd always wanted. She wouldn't have to hide who she was anymore. She could finally be herself! Maybe she could even become a famous Hero one day!

She'd felt worried, one big mistake could mean the end of her student life, and she'd be sent back to Tartarus with no chance of ever getting out. Besides that, there was still the issue of how she would actually escape the university if she decided being a Villain was a lot more enjoyable. She was going to be watched at all times, 'extra surveillance', as the school's principal had called it.

She'd felt sad, because she got captured and was being forced to either go to prison or a Hero school. She'd just started to hear rumours about this group of Villains banding together and she was so interested in hearing more about that. Maybe she could've even joined them if they liked her…

She'd gotten scared. She was stuck in a high-security prison, with armed guards and Heroes watching her every move. And even after she would get out of there, she'd still be going to a Hero school with nowhere to go. All the freedom she had been enjoying had been taken away from her all because of one small mistake, and unless she escaped, she would never be getting it back.

She was angry. At everyone that had treated her like a monster all these years, that made her run away and become a Villain in the first place. At that doctor she'd killed, whose blood paralyzed her and got her caught. At that detective at the precinct who'd been laughing at her. And at that mouse, for locking her up in here after making all those promises about a new life. Even if it had only been seven days, it had still been one of the worst weeks of her life.

And finally, she'd felt disgusted. Disgusted by the person she had become, by the person she was going to have to become to survive at U.A., by her parents who had always seen her as some kind of miscreant, like she was some kind of mistake that they'd rather just forget about.

And by whatever passed as food in this place.

While cycling through her emotions and memories of the past week one last time, she arrived at the black car waiting in front of the bridge to Tartarus. Next to it stood All-Might's lookalike, with U.A. University's principal on his shoulder as always.

"Good morning, Miss Toga!" Nezu exclaimed proudly. "I hope your stay here wasn't too rough on you?" He'd tried his best to negotiate with the police and Tartarus guards to give Toga a bit of leniency on the usual treatment they gave inmates. In the end the only thing he'd managed to do was convince them to not put the girl in a straitjacket and to not shoot her at the first sign of a threat, but that was about all.

Seeing Nezu, Toga exchanged her merry stride for a slower pace, walking more menacingly towards the men in front of the car now, her fangs bared. "It was horrible." A faint growl was audible in between her words. "I had nothing to do, the food was terrible, and I felt like I was being watched the entire time!" She yelled as she lazily tried lunging at the creature in front of her again, this time being held back by the guard holding her cuffed hands behind her back.

"It's okay, let her go please." Nezu asked the guard calmly, causing him to stare at the bear with wide eyes. "But Sir-" He tried to mutter an objection to Nezu's request, but it didn't take long for him to be interrupted. "She's not going to hurt me, please uncuff her."

He was right, Toga wasn't going to hurt him. Not only did she know that hurting the principal would ruin her chances of getting into U.A., but she was just too tired to even try doing anything to harm him as well. She'd slept a total of 14 hours during her 7-day stay at Tartarus. The bed was uncomfortable, she felt uneasy with all the cameras staring at her all night and when she did sleep, she kept being woken up by nightmares.

Those damn nightmares.

Always the same one.

Dark school hallways…

Red eyes in the shadows, as if stalking prey…

"Failure…Monster…Demon…"

They creep closer by the second…

And no matter how far you run…

There's no end…

Toga had never wanted any of this. She didn't ask to become a Villain. Everyone around her had forced her to become one and now she couldn't escape her fate even in her dreams.

She didn't have the energy to attack Nezu, no matter how much her mind was telling her she had to catch her prey. Normally she would've tried escaping by now, one guard wouldn't be too hard to beat even with her hands cuffed, and outside of the principal and the lanky guy carrying him around everywhere there were no Heroes in the immediate vicinity, but even that would mean using energy that the girl didn't have right now.

Is the blond guy even a Hero? What's his Quirk?

"I don't care, just get me to school already." Toga scowled while the flustered guard quickly undid her handcuffs. She hadn't been cuffed for long, but she still had to massage her wrists for a second due to how unreasonably tight the cuffs had been put on.

"Very well, then." Nezu concurred as he motioned to Bootleg All-Might to open the rear door, letting Toga in first before being put in a booster seat by the man carrying him. The Villain couldn't help smiling and stifling a quiet laugh at the sign of Mr. 'U.A. University's principal' in a booster seat.

While what now really seemed to be Nezu's personal butler closed the door and got into the front of the car himself, Mr. Principal turned his head towards Toga. "Is something funny, Miss Toga?" He asked while smiling sincerely. "Not really, it's just that I've never seen a dog in a baby seat before." She snickered as she looked out of the window to her left.

The car had slowly started moving by now, and as it left the road to Tartarus and got onto the main streets of the city, Toga stared at the countless people going about their day. Heroes patrolling the streets, businessmen and -women rushing to and from their jobs, children going to school… No matter what time of day, Musutafu was alive. Something was going on no matter if it was 12 at noon or midnight.

One day I'll get to run around like that instead of hiding the entire time.

More than a week had passed by now, but Toga still wasn't sure if she'd rather escape as soon as possible or give this whole U.A. thing an honest shot. She would love to have a nice life as a Hero, or as a civilian even, but then again, her life as a Villain wasn't too bad either. She could do whatever she wanted as long as no one caught her.

And therein lay the issue. Someone did catch her, and because of that she had to spend a week in a high-security prison before being sent off to a Hero school. But even then, part of her kept saying she would do it all over again if she got the chance. She didn't like that part of her.

"…Your classmates…" Toga had started to doze off right as she faintly heard the principal's voice. "Huh? What was that?" She shook herself awake quickly. "When we arrive, we'll immediately head over to meet your classmates. The last bit of paperwork can wait until later." Nezu repeated himself as he looked out in front of him. The window was too high for him to reach, so he'd spent the last half hour analyzing every little detail of the car they were in.

Usually she'd be a lot more excited about this, she'd been looking forward to arriving at U.A. and meeting her new friends for the past week after all, but with how little she had slept during her stay in Tartarus she couldn't muster the strength to mumble more than a simple "Alright…" in response.

Long car rides make you sleepy, especially after a whole week of nothing but nightmares.

After the car had made a careful stop in front of the university's gates, the two heroes and their soon-to-be student were let out by the car's driver. The building had a certain aura to it. Bright, shining, as if an evildoer like Toga had no business even standing in front of it. This felt wrong, but she had no choice. This would be her new home, at least for the foreseeable future.

It didn't take long for Toga's last bit of excitement to seep away. As she entered the school's main building, she started noticing the looks and murmurs of the students around her. If it hadn't been for the fact that she was being escorted by the principal himself she figured she would've already been yelled at, or even attacked.

The few Heroes she passed didn't really seem to pay any mind to her. Most of them just threw a glance her way, nodding to Nezu before continuing on their way. "I'm sorry, the media pounced on your story again the moment they got word of your arrest. I'm afraid your identity is one of the worst kept secrets in Japan right now." Nezu interrupted the silence as they continued their way to Toga's new classroom. "At least we were lucky enough to have managed to keep your transfer to U.A. a secret."

"Lucky?" Toga growled, trying to keep her voice quiet enough to avoid causing a scene on her first day. "Everyone's probably wondering why there's a Villain walking around on campus and you call me lucky!?" How was she ever supposed to live a normal life like this!? Everyone was still looking at her like she was a monster. No one was ever going to want to be her friend this way!

Should've chosen for Tartarus.

"I'm terribly sorry. I promise you the other teachers and I here at the university will try to help you in whatever way we can." The rat explained without turning his head towards the girl as they stopped in front of a large door with "1-A" inscribed on it. "We're here. Good luck, Miss Toga." Nezu concluded solemnly as the other man slid the door open slowly, revealing a normal-looking classroom and the students inside of it.

"You're the new student, I take it?" A shabby-looking man dressed in all black, save for a grey scarf, addressed Toga. "I'm Aizawa, your homeroom teacher. Come introduce yourself in front of the class." He didn't seem too interested in this whole business, as if he'd rather go back to sleep than stand here.

Toga tried walking up to the front of the room looking as cheerful as possible, though her façade quickly faded when she noticed the stares and baffled looks on her new classmates their faces. They must've recognized her the moment she walked in… The air felt heavy, as if all the oxygen was slowly being siphoned out of the room. Nevertheless, she put on her biggest smile as she introduced herself.

"I'm Toga! Himiko Toga! I can't wait to become a Hero and make this world an easier place, together with all of you!"

Silence. As if no one had even heard her. But she was sure they had, if anything they were just staring at her even more. Some of them even had their mouth agape now as they continued looking at the girl standing in front of them.

They're not buying it.

It felt like time had frozen, or was it the space around her that had been frozen? No one was moving and she had no idea what to do next either. She was starting to consider running out and trying to escape now, but with the number of heroes around she would never even reach the front door. Should she say something else? Maybe they really hadn't heard her? Luckily Aizawa decided it had been quiet for long enough and motioned to Toga to sit at an empty seat in the middle of the classroom.

That's when it happened. As she took a single step forward a young man with spiky, blonde hair and bright red eyes jumped up from his chair, one hand pointing at Toga as the other formed small explosions that looked like firecrackers. "The hell's a Villain doing in our classroom!? And you're telling me she's joining us!? Is this some kinda shitty joke or do we get to beat up useless freaks now as part of class!?"

Toga froze, taken aback by the sudden outburst. Some resistance was to be expected, but this? Was he going to fight her? Should she fight back? Was she even allowed to fight back? "This was a decision by the principal himself. If you got any problems take it up with him, not me." Aizawa responded bluntly, trying to shut the other student down before things got out of hand. The blond reluctantly sat down again, obviously dissatisfied with Aizawa's answer. It didn't seem like he was done with her, but at least Toga wouldn't have to get in trouble immediately after starting her new life here. She wasn't planning on getting kicked out less than 24 hours after joining.

As the class seemed to quiet down again, Toga thought about making another attempt at getting to her chair before once again being stopped by a student standing up to speak out. "As the class representative I struggle to allow someone that could potentially harm my classmates to join our class!" A tall, blue-haired man wearing glasses stood up straight as he made his point. "But I trust the principal's decisions and will therefore support Toga in her endeavours!"

Wait what? Did he just say he sup-

"As the vice representative I can't allow a dangerous individual, let alone a serial killer, to join this class!" A girl with black hair tied up into a long ponytail had stood up now as well.

"Guys give her a chance; how would you feel if you were being treated like this!?" An alien-looking girl with pink skin joined the debate.

"You all saw the news reports! Who knows what she might try!?" A female voice resounded through the room, but there didn't seem to be anyone else that had stood up.

Is that a floating uniform!?

In the midst of Toga's confusion multiple other students had joined the discussion, causing it to evolve into an all-out argument as all the voices started to drown each other out.

"ALL OF YOU SIT DOWN, NOW!" Aizawa's voice boomed through the room, interrupting the chaos, and causing everyone to quiet down within an instant. "She was given a second chance; I don't care if you're gonna be friends with her or not but she's joining this class and that's final."

Slowly, everyone sat back down quietly, seemingly impressed by their teacher's outburst, and Toga finally managed to make her way to her own seat, silently, trying to make herself look as small and unnoticeable as possible. She ended up being sat in between the floating uniform that spoke out earlier, and a boy with white and red hair that seemed equally unenthusiastic about her joining.

Great start… Everyone's yelling and half the class doesn't even want me here.

It looked like Aizawa was about ready to fall asleep on the spot, he didn't have the energy to deal with these issues right now. "Homeroom's over, try to leave the room in one piece while you wait." He said with a sigh as he got ready to leave. It sounded more like a plea than anything else.

As her new teacher left, Toga prepared herself for all the different possible things that could happen now that they were without someone supervising them. Soon the class had split up into different groups, leaving Toga sitting at her desk on her own. The floating uniform was now standing with Miss Vice Representative and a girl that seemed to have earphone jacks for earlobes. Meanwhile the boy that had been sitting next to her had went to sit somewhere in a corner. It seemed like he wasn't really interacting with anyone, opting to just avoid the class altogether.

She hesitated to move from her seat to talk to any of the students that did support her since all of them had quickly moved to their own group of friends themselves. Instead, she just spent a good minute slumped at her desk as she listened to the noises around her. Some students were whispering things about her, others were less inconspicuous about it. A few had already seemed to forget about her entirely as they were talking about completely other things.

Maybe the fact they already forgot is for the better…

"Hi! Could I ask you some questions? A-About your Quirk, I mean! Not about the other stuff…" A young man's voice appeared next to her, causing Toga to jump and sit up straight in her chair as she looked for the source of the sudden question. Fluffy, green hair that looked like not a single brush was able to keep it in check. Large eyes that were the same colour as his hair and freckles on each cheek. He seemed somewhat short for a university student and had a notebook in hand as if he was conducting an interview.

Somewhat dazed by the boy's sudden appearance, Toga muttered a quick "Uh yeah… Sure" as she closely analyzed the first student to speak to her since she entered this place.

He kinda looks like Saito…

"Well… The news reports said you drank that man's blood… Is that related to your Quirk?" He asked while shuffling around awkwardly, obviously uncomfortable at having to bring up the topic of Toga's crimes.

"Yeah, my Quirk's transformation, I-" "You can transform into someone else when you drink their blood!?" Toga tried answering, but was interrupted by the boy's excited, and slightly too loud, reaction. The entire class looked their way, some more annoyed than others.

Seeing someone so excited over her Quirk helped to lift Toga's spirits as well, something akin to a smile returning to her face as she tried continuing the conversation. "Yeah! How'd you-" "Can you also transform into animals!?" He didn't let Toga finish before asking his next question.

"Would be nice, but no…" Toga had tried before when her instincts took over and made her catch a mouse or bird, but to no avail.

"Are your fangs part of your Quirk?" "My wha-" Toga shut herself down when she realized what he'd just asked about. How attentively was this boy looking at her!? "I hadn't actually thought of that before… I don't know…" She answered quietly as her cheeks turned a slight pink.

What's he going to ask next!?

The boy didn't seem to pay any attention to Toga's bashful reaction though, as he asked his next question immediately after while writing everything down in his notebook. "Do you have to drink a certain amount?" "One cup keeps me transformed for one day."

"I see!" The more he asked, the more his speech and writing accelerated. Toga could swear she was starting to smell smoke coming from the boy's notebook. "Can you copy people their Quirks? Actually, what were your parent's Quirks? No, how did you find out about your own Quirk!?" The boy had started getting lost in his own questions and theories, not even waiting for Toga to answer him anymore as he kept muttering to himself, writing everything down at the same time. W-Wait!" Toga tried calming him down, but he wasn't listening.

"Deku! Calm down, you're scaring her!" A female voice coming from behind Toga addressed the young man, breaking his trance and making him look up from his notebook. The boy she just called 'Deku' blurted out a quick "Sorry!", putting his notebook away while his cheeks turned bright red out of embarrassment.

Meanwhile Toga turned to face the girl standing behind her. She seemed to have a permanent blush on her cheeks. Her face was soft, with round, brown eyes and shoulder length hair that had the same colour. "Sorry about that! He tends to get a bit carried away… You're Toga, right? I'm Ochaco Uraraka, and that's Izuku Midoriya." She explained, pointing to the green-haired boy who now stood next to her. "I'm sorry about earlier… I guess not everyone's a fan of you joining us here…" She looked around the classroom as she spoke, sighing but keeping a smile on her face all the while.

"It's fine! Can't expect everyone to like you on your first day, right? They'll learn to love me eventually!" Toga smiled brightly, as if she'd forgotten about everything that had happened when she'd entered less than 10 minutes ago.

"Right!" Uraraka knew things weren't that simple for Toga, but she preferred keeping that issue for another time, she had to be properly welcomed first. "Proper introductions are gonna have to wait, but I'll quickly tell you everyone's names already, so you're not completely lost!" She pumped herself up as she scanned the classroom, figuring out who was where and how to do this. Meanwhile Midoriya stood in between the two, seemingly preparing himself to chime in wherever he deemed necessary.

First stop, two students slightly to their left. "The guy with the bird's head is Fumikage Tokoyami, the frog-like girl next to him is my friend Tsuyu Asui, though her friends call her Tsu!" She waved to Asui, causing the green-haired girl to wave back faintly.

Next up, the boy that was sitting next to Toga before class ended. "The quiet guy over there's Shouto Todoroki. We don't know a lot about him… He doesn't really talk a lot to anyone." Both Uraraka and Midoriya seemed a bit concerned by the fact he didn't seem to interact with the class, but they quickly moved on with their introductions. Toga had enough to worry about already.

A larger group that contained the first person to speak out against Toga earlier, but also the girl with pink skin that had defended her. "Oh! The blond guy's Kacchan, er- Katsuki Bakugou, I've known him since we were little! He's got a short temper, but he's not all that bad!" Midoriya took the lead on this one.

Hearing that Midoriya had known Bakugou since they were little, Toga couldn't help but wonder if he'd always been this… Aggressive. "The red-haired guy next to him is Eijiro Kirishima, the boy right next to him is Denki Kaminari, then there's Mina Ashido with the horns and finally there's Hanta Sero, he's got the short, black hair!"

So her name's Ashido… Gotta thank her later!

Uraraka took the lead again and moved to a group to their right. "The mature girl with the black hair's our Vice Class Representative, Momo Yaoyorozu, though you already knew that by now…" Uraraka had a wry smile on her lips as she referenced Yaoyorozu's earlier objection when it was announced that Toga would be joining her class. "The girl with the long earlobes standing next to her is Kyoka Jiro, and then there's Toru Hagakure…" Uraraka seemed to have trouble pointing out which student she was talking about, prompting Midoriya to help. "Her Quirk is invisibility, so all you can see is her school uniform!"

"Oh she's the floating uniform!" Toga exclaimed in surprise, louder than expected. "R-Right!" Uraraka stammered as she tried to turn the class' attention away from them again, looking for the next batch of students.

"See the guy with six arms and the mask over there? That's Mezo Shoji! The tall guy over there is Rikido Sato, and next to him there's Koji Koda!" The latter's head was shaped like a rock, but he seemed to be gentle, despite his appearance. "At the front of the class right now is our Class Representative, Tenya Iida. He's kinda strict sometimes, but he means well!"

Uraraka spent a moment looking around for the students she still hadn't introduced yet, but swiftly continued afterwards. "The pretty boy over there's Yuuga Aoyama, and the guy with the tail next to him is Mashirao Ojiro! I think we've got everyone then, no?"

"You forgot about me!" A very short, young man with a round head and purple orbs that were probably supposed to be his hair walked towards the trio, looking incredibly confident for what seemed to be no reason.

"I'm Minoru Mineta! I know you've got your history and all, but… Why not try some of that stuff on me? Maybe I'd be into it." He was addressing Toga directly now while Uraraka and Midoriya looked on uncomfortably.

Toga smiled and her eyes turned narrow, as if she had just found a new prey. "Really now? You don't think you're barking up the wrong tree here? I do wonder what your blood would taste like though… Grape juice, perhaps?" Toga bared her fangs at the boy, making it clear she couldn't be any less interested in her own, sadistic way.

Silence. No response from the boy standing in front of her or the two that had just helped Toga out with learning her new classmate's names. Even the rest of the class seemed to have noticed what was happening here, Mina could be heard stifling a laugh as she watched the situation unfold.

"Someone save meeeeeeeee!" He ran away with what seemed to be tears forming in his eyes. Mina couldn't hold in her laughter anymore, causing some of the other students to join as well. Even Midoriya and Uraraka laughed awkwardly as Toga watched Mineta run towards the door before bumping into their next class's teacher.

After everyone had settled down, Uraraka and Midoriya turned to Toga one last time before moving back to their own seats. "That's everyone, then! I hope things will go well for you from now on! It was nice to meet you, Toga!" Uraraka spoke for the two of them as she smiled at the blonde, causing her to smile back brightly at what felt like her first two friends here.

"It was nice to meet you too!"
