Aizawa was feeling a bit anxious about having Izuku in her class. It wasn't about his ability, but it was partially his gender. Over all, it was the fact of how those around him would take it. Not all teenagers understood the concept of empathy, or were capable of looking past their own views. A lot of adults this day and age still couldn't do that. Not only that, Izuku had no sort of experience in a social setting. He was still filled with fear from his old life of imprisonment, even when around people he claimed to feel safe with. He also didn't like pants. He said it was due to his fur. But all she could do was hope nothing went to hell.
Izuku opened up his bag and looked through his things, making sure everything Aizawa said he would need was in there. He had his notebook, his pencil, his phone, and a carrot in a bag. Yeah, he's good. He approached his door standing before it, earlier he had heard most of his classmates leaving, some wanted to wait for him but the time he was taking versus when class started forced them to leave. He opened his door, peeking his head outside, listening closely for any tells that someone might still be in the building. With the confirmation that no one else was left, he exited his room wearing his version of the UA uniform. It looked close to the standard one, with the exception that it extended down most of his legs in the form of a waist coat. He had asked Nozomi for it to be made this way to avoid having to wear pants because of how much they compressed his fur. He hopped down the halls on all fours, weaving through various legs to get himself to class.
As the people started to thin out, Izuku could tell he was getting closer to his destination. He had passed 1-B a little while ago so his class shouldn't be too much farther…at least to your average sized woman. Izuku felt a little bit wobbly as he finally saw a familiar yellow sleeping bag propped up on the wall next to 1-A's door. He bounced closer and squeaked happily. The sleeping bad fidgeted and unzipped slightly near the top.
"Ohthankgoditsyou…hey Izuku, listen…when you go on in, try your best to stay calm please? We don't want any accidents. Try to keep the stove off." She whispered, bending down to his level. Izuku nodded, and looked to the door. He wiggled his butt as he prepared to jump, but Aizawa called out to him one more time.
"Also do me a favor, pretend you don't know me. Just for today?" She asked him. Izuku thought about it. That didn't seem too hard to do. He nodded, and leapt up to the door's handle and literally slapped it open. He landed back on to the floor quickly and quietly. Everyone was looking at the empty doorway in confusion. Izuku quietly walked into the classroom, moving behind Aizawa's desk and then hopped on to it. All 19 eyes in the room snapped to him, surprised by the small figure on the desk. Izuku stared back.
He raised a hand, and was surprised to find it shaking slightly. It felt hot, he looked back to the room everyone was starting to get closer to the desk, trying to get a closer look at him. He did not like that. His breathing began to get a bit erratic, his hand starting to twitch as they began to surround the desk, murmurs coming from them as they questioned what he was. He wanted to wave, just show a gesture of friendliness, but prior instincts were overriding his judgement. He was trying to keep his hand closed now, if it opened someone was going to get burned. He could feel the heat waves starting to radiate from his hand, the holes on his hand starting to exhaust warm air as a low glowing began to radiate from them. He felt a hand touch his head. Faster than anyone could react, Izuku flew up to the nearest face with an outstretched hand, the heat coming from his hand however…was around a normal temperature, slightly warmer because it had fur hell, his hand only covered one of the pink girl's eyes. He began to calm down, but he began to feel a bit cold.
"Oh my gosh, she has soft baby paws-"
"Everyone sit down. Ashido, put hi- her down." A familiar voice called. Izuku didn't even register the fact that 'Ashido' was holding him so he could reach her face now, but that didn't stop him from starting to freak out. Under the gaze of glowing red eyes, they all rushed to their seats, Mina moving especially fast to do what she was told.
Izuku breathed in silently, feeling his inner warmth comeback to him. He could feel two hands scoop him up. They felt familiarly rough as they gently lifted him up. He was carried to a desk near the back that he was carefully placed in. Izuku's gaze stayed on his desk. He was still feeling a bit rattled. He could hear Aizawa berating everyone on their time and how they needed to be faster and not get distracted. Soon, everyone began to get up and head for the desk and then out the door. Izuku watched them all leave before getting up himself, he was supposed to head outside to the field after getting changed. He walked toward the changing room as he began thinking about something important. Aizawa didn't give him his own track suit. So, what was he supposed to put on? He stopped to the side of the changing room and began to think. He couldn't keep wearing his uniform, so…
As Aizawa stood outside waiting for her student, she mentally slapped herself in the head. She had forgotten to give Izuku his track suit. Oh well, it would be a good reason to excuse him from participating. That was her plan, until she saw Izuku bounce his way outside on all fours wearing nothing but the thick fur on his body. He came to a stop and stood in front of Aizawa, who was trying to process what was either Izuku's ignorance or bravery. It was obvious that Izuku wasn't feeling any kind of shame if the expressionless look on his face was anything to go by. Why was she just standing still! Just get him dressed before anyone else-
"Holy shit-"
Oh god no. Doi Kaminari, who Aizawa could already tell was one of her louder students, had just walked out to the field to find a naked Izuku just standing there in front of Aizawa.
"No way, are you actually naked right now?!" She said in disbelief. She ran over to get a closer look, but kept a bit of a distance. Aizawa was having trouble figuring out a way to rationally explain this, but she didn't even know how to explain Izuku's thought process because she didn't know what it was. Izuku just waved hello to her, making a sort of attempt to 're-try' his introduction. Soon more of the students began to make their exit from the locker room. Now having all the student remaining at least six feet from Izuku in a loose circle, Aizawa decided to just roll with it.
"Everyone get in line now."
In less than a minute, everyone was in a line in front of her. She explained just what they were doing. It was a set of physical tests to help her determine their limits, only they would be using their quirks. When then decided to use and example for a ball throw. She memorized the list of of those in her class and their ranking on the entrance exam and decided to pick the second-place winner.
"Bakugo Katsumi, come here." She commanded. A girl with ash-blonde hair and ruby red eyes stepped forward, moving toward Aizawa, who noticed a curious effect on Izuku when she had said that name. He had tensed up to an incredible degree before relaxing in confusion. Aizawa handed her a ball.
"Step into the circle, and throw the ball as far as you can. You can do it in anyway as long as you don't leave the circle." She instructed. Bakugo scoffed as she stepped into the circle. She reeled back an arm. At that moment, Izuku smelled something like…burnt sugar.
"DIE!"
A loud boom sounded off that caused Izuku to jump and left his ears ringing. He fell on to his but and clapped his hands against his ears, they were ringing intensely, so much that it hurt. He could barely hear what Aizawa was saying right now. When the ringing finally stopped, everyone was walking over to the track and looking tense. He quickly ran over to them so he could keep up with what was going on.
50-Meter Dash
Everyone was standing in front of a track as Aizawa explained what they would be doing. They were basically getting to the other end as fast as possible if that's what Izuku was understanding. He watch as the others went first being able to get a good look at his classmate's quirks. He really wishes he had his notebook now. Soon, it came to be his turn and he was paired up with Bakugo.
They both walked/hopped over to their positions. As they stood there a second or two before starting, Izuku could feel her gaze on him. It should've been ignorable, but something about the fact that it was her staring was making him nervous. The start rung off and instantly they both took off. Izuku had a clear lead, using the strength of his own legs to boost him forward and small but powerful blasts of compressed air from his feet.
"4.02"
"4.13"
Izuku didn't really bother with coming to a proper stop, he just let himself tumble for a second or two before righting himself. He shook the dust from his ears and looked back to his peers. He bounced back over, ignoring Bakugo's gaze on him, he was stopped by someone though.
"You okay? Kero." Izuku looked up to short frog girl. Despite a lack of emotion in her poker face and voice, Izuku could tell there was genuine concern. So he responded.
Squeak
"That's good, I thought you hurt something with the way you just tumbled like that. Call me Tsu." Tsuyu said as she walked with the others to the next test. Wait she could understand his noises?!
Grip Strength
Izuku couldn't really participate in this one, the grip machines were all too big for his hands. His head drooped slightly as he just watched everyone else while standing next to the grip machine he couldn't use. Someone with red hair walked over to him with a sharp and toothy smile.
"Yo! I wanted to see what you got!" She said excitedly, Izuku looked up at her and showed her his problem.
"Ah, that sucks…maybe you can grip it some other way? Yaoyorozu used her quirk entirely, and we're supposed to be using them anyway." The redhead spoke. Izuku looked over to said girl, who had made a clamp and used that to grip the machine. Izuku looked down at himself and then at the machine. An idea sparked into his mind, he sat down and put the machine between his legs.
"What are you-"
He then proceeded to loop his legs through, although a bit awkwardly because he had some uniquely shaped legs, and brought himself into a handstand with the grip machine raised over him. He then squeezed the life out of the machine, garnering a nice 142 kg from the machine.
"Woah! Amazing job little man! Super manly!" The redhead said to Izuku, giving him a thumbs up and a shark-toothed smile. Izuku was feeling quite happy at the complement, mainly he fact that he was proud that she figured out what gender he was, so he decided to repay her.
"Thank!"
She promptly snorted.
Standing Long Jump
Izuku watched as others either cleared or landed very far in the sandbox until it was his turn. This was going to be easy. He first took up a running stance. Which for him looked like he was about to pounce with his butt in the air.
"Fluffy butt-"
With incredible speed, he kicked off the ground, making a dash for the sandbox. As he reached the launch pad, a burst of compressed air shot from his feet and rocketed him over the box, clearing it entirely. But like before, he didn't bother with a proper landing, and just crashed into the ground leaving a small crater. He got up without bother and trotted back to the group.
"You need to stop doing that before you hurt yourself. Kero." The frog girl said.
Squeak
Several other tests later
Izuku and the other students found themselves back at the pitching area, and Izuku had just been called up. Aizawa tossed him a smaller version of the base ball and looked at it in his hands. Everyone waiting to see what he would do, but so far he was just standing there holding it.
How should I throw it? I haven't used my flames at all for these tests, just air cannon. But that's starting to hurt. But I need some serious power to launch the ball, and I can't get that from my flames. It's not like Bakugo's explosions…wait…
He began to think. He lifted his head with newfound determination. He held the ball with both hands, bringing it down to his side. His pose actually resembled a certain alien martial artist's. He began to feel out both of his quirks, one main one in each arm. As his forearm bulged as it took in air, wisps of flame began to leak out of his other hand. He began releasing air around the ball at the same rate he released the flames. The flames seemed to react, growing stronger and brighter. He stretched out his arms and shoved the ball forward, unleashing a burst of fire and air. The result was an explosion of fire that launched the ball far off.
704.9
Izuku's face showed happiness with his score. But now he couldn't feel his arm. Also the candy cane girl was looking at him weird now.
Looking down the leaderboard, Izuku was happy to know he was 5th! To him, that was good considering there was 20 other students!
"Oh yeah, I'm not expelling anyone."
Wait when was this a thing.
As everyone began to pack up to head back to the dorms, they all seemed to have one thought. Talk to Usagi. Said rabbit was currently sneaking himself out the door. He looked back to find that everyone was staring at him.
"…"
He just resumed sneaking out the door and around the corner as if he wasn't just seen.
