(A/N I'm back! Sorry about the wait! Also, just to clarify, Denki and Sero go to the same school as Izuku, Mina and Kirishima. They just don't have any periods together.))
"W-what are you doing here, Izu?"
"What are you doing here?"
"I-I maybe sort of kinda joined LoV…." Denki rubbed the back of his head.
"Why?"
"Um, well-you see-."
"Ahem."
The two teens turned to see Kurogiri standing there with Izuku's drink, which Izuku took gratefully and took a sip.
"If you two young men would like a private space to talk, there is a spare room over there," Kurogiri pointed to a door to the left of the front door. "And a few spare minutes before the meeting."
Izuku nodded. "Thank you Kurogiri."
The two teens walked into the room and sat on a couch that was by the door.
"So who's going first?" Izuku asked.
"I will." Denki sighed. "I used to have an older brother. His name was Haru. I know a common name, but he was one of the nicest people to exist. At least that I've met. We were sent to buy some groceries for our parents. There was a villain attack right outside the store we were in. They had put explosives at the back of the store where we were. Endeavor was there, and they said if Endeavor attacked, they would set off the explosives. We tried to run in case, but we thought Endeavour would solve the problem so we weren't too worried, but then-." Denki clenched his fistas a tear trailed down his cheek. "Endeavour attacked. The explosions were small but damaging. We were out of the blasting range, but debris was falling everywhere. I-I suddenly felt a push from my brother and I stumbled a few steps, then turned to see why he had shoved me. I-I saw-" Denki sobbed and Izuku wrapped him into a hug. "A-all that was left was a broken chunk of ceiling and-and" Denki sobbed again, but Izuku understood.
"That's horrible, Denki." Izuku started to rub circles on Denki's back, trying to soothe him as he sobbed into Izuku's shoulder.
"I did some searches and I found that tons other instances happened because of cockey or dumb hero's. I also realized that even more heroes aren't even hero's to save people. They just care about the money and fame." Denki explained further. "I-I just have to do something about it, Izuku! I have to!"
Izuku nodded. "I agree."
Denki looked at Izuku, his head tilting. "Y-you do?"
"My turn to explain I guess.." Izuku sighed. "You know I'm quirkless, right?"
Denki nodded.
"I've been bullied ever since I was four. Sometimes with quirks, sometimes with fists, and the worst, with words. People have said some horrible things to me. There is a person in my class, Bakugo Katsuki."
"Hey, I've heard of him! They say he has a hero's quirk and he's a star student." Denki frowned. "It sounds like bull to be honest."
Izuku nodded. "To be honest it kind of is. He does have a great quirk, but no quirk is a hero or villain quirk if you ask me. Anyway, he's really kocky, and he used to be my best friend before we got our quirks."
"Really?" Denki looks surprised.
Izuku nodded. "He had anger and pride issues all his life, and when he got his quirk, everyone fueled it, telling him he was a future hero, and making him believe he was basically, excuse my language, the hot schist."
Denki frowned. "Schist? Don't you mean-"
Izuku shook his head. "This is as close to a PG story as possible, so we will use Percy Jackson references."(1)
Denki looked confused.
"Don't worry about it, Denki." Izuku grinned. "Anyway, he and his lackeys started bullying me and other kids. I tried to protect the other kids, but it just resulted in me getting beat to a pulp. Mom never noticed."
"That sounds kind of neglective…."
"Don't get me wrong! My mom is the best and loves me a ton! She just struggles sometimes. Ever since dad left it's been hard. But we don't have to worry about money because dad's overseas and I'm thankful but it's hard on mom."
Denki nodded in understanding.
"Anyway, a few days ago Bakugo said something really bad." Izuku sighed.
"What did he say?"
Izuku leaned over to Denki's ear and whispered what Bakugo had said. (2)
Denki's jaw dropped. "No way!"
"YEs way. That was after destroying something of mine I had been working on for a while. I'll tell you about it another time. On my way home, a slime villain attacked me. But All Might saved me, but that was ruined because he told me I could never be a hero being quirkless."
"Didn't the slime villain attack a blond pomeranian guy?" Denki asked.
Izuku laughed "Yep. The villain escaped, that was kinda my fault. Also that kid was Bakugo."
Denki laughed too.
"But that experience opened my eyes and I realized how fake so many heroes are. W-when I met you guys, I realized if someone tried to hurt you guys and a fake hero let you guys die, I would be lost. You guys are the first friends I've had since I was four. I agreed to join LoV." Izuku said quietly.
Denki nodded "That makes sense. I'm sorry you've had to go through that."
Izuku shook his head. "Not your fault."
Denki was about to say but the door opened and the boys turned to see Kurogiri.
"Excuse my interruption, but the meeting is starting."
