Chapter 4: Clear Sky

Izumi walked along the streets of the city as she read her notes. Looking at her notes on the heroes she saw today.

She still can't face reality, even though she's a third year.

It's time for you to think seriously about your future

Before flipping a page to All Mights autograph.

You need to be realistic...

Even the top pro said it..., Izumi thought as she looked sadly at her notebook. Don't cry... You knew, didn't you..? The reality... You knew. That's why you were trying so desperately... You were averting your eyes from reality..., she then heard the explosions from Tatooin shopping center. Is that where that the explosion was earlier... Wait... I came here out of habit, didn't I..., she thought as her tail lowered. Stop it... It's meaningless now-

Before she could finish the thought she saw what was happening behind the crowd. She saw the mud-villain.

Why's he here!? Did it get away from All Might, she thought as she looked horrified at the villain. Did he drop it? If he did...

She remembered the moment she held on to All Might as he was flying in the air.

"...It's my fault...", she said as every hair on her body and her ears stood up in shock at the realization.

"Why aren't the heroes doing anything?"

"They can't. Apparently the villain took a junior high-schooler as hostage. It's been like this for a while..."

Izumi then looked at the villain fighting the heroes. Caught..? It's been like that for a while..? How could they bear that suffocating..., she thought as she remembered the experience, before irking. I thought I'd die after a few seconds... Wow...

"Wait, wasn't this the guy All Might was chasing earlier?"

"Wow, no way!"

"Wait, All Might's here?"

"Yeah, I think I saw him earlier..."

"Wow, seriously. Then... what's All Might doing?"

Izumi then held her hand at her mouth in shock. It's my fault... He can't do anything!

"Everyone! Get back and look out for a hero with a more suitable quirk", a hero shouted back at the crowd.

This is my fault! I'm so sorry! If I just hadn't bothered All Might so much, then this wouldn't have happened! Someone... Do something... Someone... A hero... Do something!

She looked back up at the scene. Seeing the desperate face of the student...

Kachan!

She dropped her notebook and dashed into the fire, even though everyone of her senses told her to turn back, she didn't. And as she did, every on-looker, every hero and even All Might looked at her in shock and fear as she went into the fire.

"Idiot! Stop", Death Arms shouted as he reached out. "Stop dammit!"

The villain looked at her in confusion. "That chick...", as Bakugo groaned in confusion.

"Neko..?"

And so Izumi ran at the villain at full speed. Why did I run out..? What am I doing..?! Why?! Why am I doing this..?!

"Die in flames", the villain shouted as he sent out his hand to attack the girl.

Why am I doing this, at a time like this! What do I do at a time like this?!

She then grabbed her backpack in an inspiration and threw it at the villain, confusing him. "KACHAN", she shouted as she grabbed the villain, trying to dig the boy out.

"Why are you here", Bakugo shouted.

"I don't know!"

But I think there were various reasons why..., she thought as she remembered her previous experiences of people mocking or encouraging her, her admiring heroes, All Might and her remembering her dream. But at that moment...

"You looked like you were asking for help!"

Bakugo flinched at the words he just heard.

"Quiet down", the villain yelled as he prepared to squash the girl, but Izumi kept digging into him.

"Is she suicidal?!"

But before anyone could properly react to what was happening, an explosion of wind burst on the scene, as a lone man had his fist buried deep in the villain.

"All Might", Izumi shouted in shock as the man stood in-front of her. "Even though I admonished you, I wasn't putting my own words into practice", he shouted as he pulled his hand out of the villain. He then grabbed onto Bakugos hand and readied a punch. "Pros are always putting their lives on the line", he cotinued as he let out blood from his mouth and swung at the villain.

"A-All Might", the villain yelled in confusion as All Might swung as he tried to protect himself in vain.

"Detroit...", the wind bloomed. "Smaaash!"

And so the villain was blown in to the air as Bakugo was pulled out by All Might and everyone was pushed back and fires were extinguished in a whirlwind. And as All Might gathered his breath, the sky got dark and it soon began to rain, and the on-lookers looked in aw.

"Rain?"

Soon the people looked up in the sky and the two kids laid on the ground next to each-other.

"Don't tell me it's from the wind pressure just now..."

"And an updraft..."

Death Arms looked at All Might in aw. "H-He made clouds appear..?"

All Might stood up as everyone shifted their looks to him.

"Hey, hey, hey, heyheyheyhey! He made the weather change with just one punch!"

"That's amazing!"

"That's All Might for ya!"

And so All Might lifted his fist high and the crowd erupted into cheer.

After that the heroes gathered the sludge, and safely delivered it to the police. Afterwards Izumi and Bakugo were being questioned by the heroes.

"Jeez! There's a limit to how rash you could be", Death Arms yelled as him and Kamui Woods lectured Izumi. "There was absolutely no reason for you to put yourself in danger!"

But Bakugo was only being praised.

"Oh man, that was amazing toughness! And that quirk", the hero said as Bakugo looked down and then at Izumi. "Once you're a pro, please come to my agency! You'll definitely be an excellent sidekick!"

Well I guess he would..., Izumi thought as the two heroes left, before Mt. Lady walked up to her.

"Hey, hey...", she said before signaling Izumi to come closer.

What now...

Mt Lady stood in-front of the girl, looking at her tail and ears. "You know if you want, why don't you intern as my sidekick when you get to a hero course. I would love to help teach you some things."

"Wait... Hero course, but how could-"

"Don't worry, when I applied to the hero course myself, I barely passed, but I'm sure you would do great", the hero then heard some reporters calling her. "Anyway... Duty calls. Good luck!"

Huh..? What... Just happened. Did she just..., just then she felt her phone ringing. Oh yeah! I should start heading home! Wait where's All Mi-, she then saw All Might being interviewed mercilessly. I should probably wait until later..., she begun walking away as Bakugo looked at her briefly before getting being surrounded by cameramen.

Later that day, the streets were calm as people looked at the tvs in the windows of stores, showing Bakugos interview and Izumi was walking down a street to her home.

I wanted to apologize to All Might, but he was still being interviewed... I'll try sending a message on his website when I get home...

"Neko", Bakugo shouted as he rushed to her from behind.

"K-Kachan?!"

"I never asked you for help! And you didn't help me! Got it", he shouted with a red face. "I was fine by myself! You have a useless quirk! Don't you think you're better than me! Don't you think I owe you", he shouted before turning away. "You damn nerd!"

Toughness, huh... It's just as he said... It's not like I accomplish anything, or changed much...

...I'm sure you would do great...

Izumi flinched.

I would... Do great... Was she...

"I am here", All Might shouted as he dashed in-front of Izumi.

"A-All Might!? Why are you here? You were surrounded by reporters before..."

All Might laughed proudly. "Getting away from them was a piece of cake! Why? Because I am All Migh-", He was cut off by him coughing out blood and erupting into a cloud of steam, before appearing in his deflated form. All Might then wiped away the blood on his mouth. "Young lady. I come with thanks, a correction and a suggestion. If you hadn't told me your story... I would've just been another guy in a bodysuit who was all talk... Thank you..."

Izumi shook her head as her tail waved in embrasement. "That can't be... It was my fault in the first place! I got in the way of your work, and I even said those stupid things even though my quirk is..."

"That's exactly why... It was because it was non-other than a timid, un-practical quirk you at the scene, that I was able to act..."

Izumi turned to look at the man in shock.

"Top heroes have stories about them from their school days. Most of them share the same moment: Their bodies moved on their own before they had a chance to think."

And as her tail and bowed down, the sakura bloomed and for some reason, she remembered her mothers words...

"I'm sorry Izumi! I'm so sorry!"

And so she clenched her chest as tears begun falling down her face.

"So it was the same for you too, wasn't it?"

Izumi fell down to her kneese. "Yes...", and she remembered back to the day her mother apologized, she didn't want to hear a 'sorry', but...

"You can become a hero too...", All Might said as he looked down on the crying girl as the sun set in a golden glow.

Dreams can become reality. And this is how I became the greatest hero!
