Weightless
Elliot woke up around seven thirty. They had slept hard. He could feel how sore his muscles were just from the little movement he made as he turned Olivia who was sleeping cuddled up along his side. They were still facing the end of the bed, and sometime in the middle of the night they had wound themselves around each other even more than they had been.
He took a moment to look at her. He loved to look at her while she slept. She was so at peace, and it healed his heart every morning he woke up to her wrapped around him. They had both spent many nights in the cribs trying to catch a few hours of sleep on the job, and more than once when he had gone in to wake her, he would steal a moment to watch her. To look at her face, her body… without anyone else around.
He always felt guilty after… because he'd been married… because she wasn't his… because if she knew he was doing that she would have surely punched him. But that was in the past and he was here now with this beautiful woman, asleep and satisfied.
As much as he wanted to just… stay like this forever, he needed to use the bathroom. He carefully and very slowly started to maneuver his way out of her arms. The second he was standing he missed her. He missed her warmth… her smell… the soft tickle of her hair on his arm, on his chest… the feel of her heartbeat against his skin. He waited a few seconds just admiring her beautiful form and to make sure she was still sleeping soundly before he made his way into the bathroom.
Once he finished, he carefully washed his hands, remembering the sink was broken and he smiled at the reason why and he felt his heart flutter. He looked at himself in the mirror. He looked… different.
He was happy.
Really truly happy. Optimistic. And it was all because of the amazing woman laying naked in the other room.
His eyes no longer looked heavy or tired. Even though loving the love of his life was now keeping him up all night and working his body to the limit, it wasn't causing circles under his eyes or stark heaviness on his soul.
It was the antidote to every weight he ever carried. He felt weightless. He looked it too.
It had freed him. She had freed him. She had unlocked a true happiness he didn't even know existed. A happiness he didn't know you could feel.
A happiness that transcended time and somehow found him in his latter years in life, and it made him feel like he was young again.
He walked back into her bedroom and stretched out his body a little. He lifted his arms up over his head, and leaned over to his right, and then his left, taking inventory of what was the most sore. It was an achingly good feeling.
The feeling of sore muscles and knowing they were sore from having unbelievable sex all night long with the woman of his dreams was completely worth ever single second.
He looked over at Olivia and he could see she was still breathing soft and slow. She hadn't moved since he got up and he was thankful for that. He didn't want her to wake without being in his arms.
But since she was still out, he decided to pick up a little. He walked over to where her boots were and put them by her closet. He also picked up her vibrator off the floor and quietly put it back in its drawer carefully.
He smiled to himself thinking about how last night had been a first for him, but it wasn't going to be the last. Her voice, begging for him to touch her with it echoed in his mind sending a flush of heat across his skin.
He remembered the time he found Kathy's vibrator. He had been mad that she even had one. Wasn't he good enough? She has always been so tame in bed… and he never tried to push the envelope and then to find that… it had hurt. It made him feel like maybe he was… inadequate.
But with Olivia… she was anything but tame. And he was one hundred percent sure of his total adequacy in making love to Olivia and fucking her brains out. She made it crystal clear.
He knew he had nothing to be worried about because he knew what he did to her. How wet he makes her… how her body reacts to him.
It turned him on so much just at the thought of watching her use a vibrator let alone actually getting to use it on her.
She was pure sin.
She had awoken the absolute animal in him and had encouraged it. She wasn't afraid of him or his strength and it was because of her unwavering trust in him. She wanted him to possess her and take her… all of her and completely ravish her. And she had done the same to him. The way she could bring him to his knees was terrifying.
If she was a saint he would spend his life on his knees at her alter offering himself to her every night.
He felt his heartbeat start to pick up a little and he took a deep breath in and let it out slow to calm himself down a little.
He scooped up some of his clothes and tossed them in her laundry basket. He stopped for a second looking for his bag.
It was an old gym bag he still loved to use. Earlier, Olivia had taken his things out for him and given him a drawer.
She was making space for him in her life and Noah's and in her bedroom. Which… might as well be their bedroom now.
There was something he was looking for. Something he knew if she had found he would have known, which is why he was certain she hadn't seen it. He looked in her closet and found it set neatly on her floor.
He loved this bag. It was old, but it fit anything he needed in it perfectly. And because it was a gym bag it had this special little hidden compartment for valuables like keys or money… or jewelry.
He opened the secret pocket and pulled out a little black box.
He looked over to her to make sure she was still asleep before he opened it and looked at it.
The ring took his breath away every time he looked at it. And not just because it was beautiful, which it was, but because this was the ring he was going to propose to Olivia with. He still hadn't planned out where or when, or how… but it didn't matter. All that mattered was he was going to propose to her.
He had it made a week ago and paid extra to have it as soon as possible. He just needed to have it in his possession.
The platinum band sparkled in the soft light of the morning sun that was sliding its way through the slats of her blinds. The setting was simple… the cushion shaped diamond sat flush in the middle of the weave of their infinity symbol. It wasn't a huge diamond, but he knew Liv… she wouldn't want something flashy. She would probably be happy with a little tin ring… and there was something so sweet about that. But he wanted to get her something special… something he put thought into… something beautiful and unique like her, even though nothing could compare to her beauty.
He knew she owned mostly gold jewelry. It looked so incredible against the color of her skin, but he had decided on platinum because he didn't want his matching band to be gold. His other band was gold. And he knew it wouldn't matter to Liv, but he didn't want anything to be the same as before. Everything was already completely different than before… than really it ever had been. He wanted to look down at his ring finger and see them. Not something that would remind him of the past because Olivia was his future.
He turned the ring so he could look at the inscription he had them etch into the band.

He smiled as he felt his heart swell in his chest. He also felt a little nerves set in. He wasn't worried she didn't want to be with him the rest of their lives, he knew they'd be together forever. She had told him in so many ways, and her tattoo was more than just ink. It was her permeant reminder for him to see how she felt about him… about them.
He was nervous because this would be a big step for her. She had never been married. She hadn't been close in her adult life. She was married to the job… and back then to their partnership.
So, there was a chance she would be hesitant about it, and he needed to be ready for that… if that happens. He would need to remind himself it wasn't her saying no to him, but to the idea of marriage. And if that was how she felt… well then, he could live with that. As long he still had her… as long as she still wanted him, they didn't need to be married if that was what she wanted.
Did he want to see her walk down the aisle to him? Of course. Did he want to openly tell the world he loved her and would always be faithful to her and her only for as long as he lived? Yes… or if she didn't want the whole wedding thing would he marry her in a courthouse with just a judge and a witness or two? Yes. Absolutely.
He was prepared to do whatever she wanted because the only thing he truly wanted… the only thing he needed was her.
So marrying her would be the cherry on top of an already perfect sundae.
He sighed and closed the box and tucked it back into its hiding spot.
Now he just had to figure out when and how and where. Maybe he had jumped the gun a little in having this made, but he had been in love with her for twenty three years. They had spent enough time not being what they are now.
But on the other hand… maybe they should try living together first. They hadn't even talked about that. Olivia had given him her key though… that was a huge step for her.
Another thought entered his mind. They hadn't even told his children about them yet, with the exception of Kathleen, and they needed to fix that before he even entertained the idea of moving in together and proposing.
Well he thought, they had a lot more to get through before he asked her to be his wife.
His wife.
Just the thought of calling her his wife made his breath catch in his chest.
Olivia Stabler…
Hmm he thought… that sounded… good but… not… right.
Olivia Benson-Stabler…
Noah Benson-Stabler…
That sounded… better… right. That sounded like her. He couldn't imagine not calling her Benson… and at the same time having her last name be his last name had always been a fantasy of his. But the hyphen thing seemed like the best option.
Captain Olivia Benson-Stabler…
Oh yes… that sounded perfect.
His mind was pulled back out of his thoughts when he heard Olivia take in a deep breath and sigh.
He was getting lost in his mind about this… a head of himself. Maybe he should just cool it and wait with his line of thoughts. She would probably have her own opinion of her last name if she decided to marry him.
He watched her move slightly and then headed back over to the bed. He wanted to be in the here and now with her. He wanted her to never wake up not in his arms, so he carefully climbed back in bed with her and scooped her up and she immediately snakes her arms around his waist and tucked her head into his neck as she wrapped her right leg up over him and slipped her foot under his calf.
The soft little sound she made in the back of her throat elicited a little moan of his own. He kissed the top of her head and let his hands do a little roaming.
He slowly smoothed his hands over her arm and shoulder and down her back and over her ass. He groaned softly as he gripped her unable to stop himself. He felt her tighten her legs around him and her hips arched back giving him more of her ass to grab. She began to pepper soft little kisses on his neck and her hands grasped at his skin pulling him closer to her.
He knew she was awake now, and he moved one of his hands back up to her face so he could move it to look at her.
"Hey beautiful…" he said, his voice low and a little raspy. Her eyes opened and he just… melted. He would never tire of her waking up in his arms, their naked bodies pressed against each other, calling her beautiful, and looking into her beautiful sparkling brown eyes.
Never.
"Good morning my love…" she said, her smile grown every second she spent looking into the eyes of the one true love of her life.
Oh, my heart… Elliot thought. He still sometimes had a hard time remembering this was real.
He was her love. He was hers in every sense of what it was to be someone's love. In every sappy, love song, swoon worthy way he was hers and he would do anything for her.
He was her love and with that knowledge he could move the earth if that was what she wanted. Nothing seemed as terrible, or as hard with her by his side. His future was bright, and he could shoulder anything.
"You know… you don't have to do that…" he said, his smile becoming a little coy.
"Do what?" she asked.
She loved how playful he always seemed to be with her. They had had a lot of heaviness in their lives, since… well always it seemed. But having him here in her bed, his arms wrapped around her, their love free to move and be what it is made him, and her in turn, feel free of the weight they both shouldered. The weight she shouldered for victims, for him, for her son… for herself. The weight she knew he kept constantly, that was filled with his own guilt for leaving her… for Kathy… for his kids and for every case he ever had that didn't see justice.
It was nice to finally have these moments.
Moments filled with nothing but happiness. With nothing but them. And it was natural. Nothing about all the seconds filled with just them were awkward, or hard, or uneasy. Even a little bit.
She wanted this all the time. Giving him her key had been easier than she thought. It didn't seem as crazy or terrifying as she thought it might. Even though they had only officially started this… thing between them only a few weeks ago, the years were there. They had been doing this for over two decades. Except it wasn't just a thing… nothing with him had ever just been anything.
It was everything and it always had been.
And she knew it always would be.
Maybe she wanted more. She had already secretly and deep down in her soul knew she wanted to marry him… she had always felt that way if she was truly being honest with herself. Watching him with his kids when they were young, seeing how he was with Kathy when she had become pregnant with Eli… how doting he was, how he cared for her, and she yearned for it.
Not just having a family or someone to take care of her, but for him. For him to be there for her and take care of her, and she knew it was crazy then to want that. He wasn't hers to want, and she was strong and capable of taking care of herself. She hadn't needed anyone for a long time, and yes it was nice to have a boyfriend, but she still seemed to just… take care of herself. Rely on no one.
But she knew she could rely on him. Without ever asking. Hell, he had bailed her out of jail by mortgaging his home for her and if she had known he was going to do that she never would have let him. But he did. It wasn't even a thought. He just… did it. He was there for her.
And he had always been there for her. In every way he could be, and a few times in ways he probably shouldn't have been since he was married then. And maybe that's why she always told herself she didn't want to get married. She didn't need to get married. Not unless she could find someone who looked at her like he did, who looked out for her like he did… who made her feel the way he did.
Which subconsciously she knew she'd never find. He was the only one. There was no one like him.
She knew now of course, she never got married because life had another plan for her. They were meant to be, so it only now seemed like her dating past and the ships of the few serious relationships all ended, sunk in the bottom of her collective dating ocean.
So, she pushed all her own wants down deep inside her and locked that door. And then he left her. She had been a hollow shell of herself. She felt like he had died… and she had died with him… but she never had to go back there. He was here with her now and they had worked through all their baggage, and they were moving forward and looking to the future.
Together.
She decided to open that locked door inside her. Well, he opened it. Without knowing it then, she had given him the key to it, and it made sense now. Only he would have that key, and knowing him, he would only use it if she told him to.
So, she was going to tell him to.
She eyed him, suddenly hungry for him as she waited for his answer.
"Become more beautiful every time I look at you… it's not fair." He said, his smile growing.
Olivia laughed and felt her cheeks redden.
"Maybe it's because it's you that's looking at me… you've always been a little biased." She said biting her lower lip and sliding more of herself over the top of him.
"Hmmmm no… that's not it… you're just… beautiful." He said as he kissed her cheek.
"More and more every day…" he added as he kissed her other cheek and moved his hand from her face back down to her ass pulling her closer.
They could argue over this all day she thought, or she could climb on top of him and make him forget his name.
The truth was he did make her feel beautiful. More beautiful than she had ever felt, and comfortable with herself, and in everything she was now. Her insecurities were gone, and not just because a man deemed her beautiful. But because this man knew her and all her baggage and knew the most intimate, and ugly parts of her past and still, only saw her as beautiful… inside and out.
Loved her not despite them, but because of them. He knew her strength an independence, and will to survive and he encouraged her to continue to be a strong vivacious woman. Not just the woman standing behind the man. He wanted her standing next to him. His equal, and if that didn't make her feel beautiful… well then there would be no hope for her, but she didn't need to worry about that.
Besides… beauty was in the eye of the beholder, so it only seemed right that she decided what her definition of beauty was, and what made her feel that way.
She decided she needed to show him just how beautiful he made her feel.
Olivia pushed him over and he happily let her move over the top of him. He grabbed her hips to help keep her straddled over his lap. He let out a groan looking up at the most beautiful sight.
Olivia naked, straddling him, wanting him.
Loving him.
"Hmmm… El…" she moaned out feeling him grow hard for her. The way he could, with even just a look, make her body react was still a little staggering. She thought maybe over time their passion for each other would slow down a little, but they did have decades to make up for.
Olivia placed her hands on his chest and looked down into those pools of blue searing into her soul.
"I love you El…" she whispered feeling her overwhelming emotion for this man take her over, and she welcomed it.
Elliot sat up pulling her to his bare chest and connected his lips with hers kissing her slow and soft, but with full commitment. He pulled back and brushed her hair from her face and took a second to communicate silently with her before he spoke.
"I love you too Olivia." He said, his voice clear, his heart full.
Olivia took his lips this time and pushed him back onto the bed, leaning over him as her hand trailed down his body looking for him so she could connect herself with him and they could be one again.
She slid her hand over him, stroking his length and he moaned in her mouth. She then let go of him and spread her knees out a little farther so she could slide herself up and down him, coating him in her arousal for him. Her legs were sore, and the sting was there, but it was dull in comparison for her desire to feel him inside her again.
She pulled herself up a little and moved back slowly taking him inch by inch into her body where he fit perfectly. Where he had been made to fit.
He broke their kiss and let out a sharp puff of air at the connection of them becoming one again. It was still just as overwhelming and astounding as it had been the first time, even more so if that was possible.
Then she started to move.
He was going to let her take control this time. Like she had let him last night. And there was nothing sexier than watching her ride him. He gripped her hips, and met her movements with his own thrusts up, but she controlled the speed and rhythm. His eyes were locked on her body. He loved to watch her take her own pleasure. He watched as her beautiful full breasts moved with them, and the muscles in her stomach tensing under that tanned golden skin of hers, and the way her hips rolled, the feeling of her gripping him from the inside, her strong legs locking him in place, her thick things under his forearms.
Goddam she was beautiful. There was nothing more beautiful than watching this strong, independent, high ranking, powerful woman take what she wanted.
He was hoping she would move her hands over her body, and then it was like she read his mind, because her hand left his chest, and moved up her stomach and over her breast and into her hair. She kept them up there, and the view she was creating made his body shake with want. She was open to him, completely and he moaned louder as she brought him to the edge.
Her breathing had picked up and her lovely voice was now high and breathless as moans fell out of her mouth.
He gripped her hips hard, trying his best to wait for her so they could come together, but she was making it extremely hard to hold out. But he knew her body, and he knew what could send her, but he wanted a few more moments to watch her take him and own him.
He moved his hand over, looking between them where they were connected and for a second, he was lost. He forgot about the world around them and was focused on just them. Of her taking him all the way in over and over again. His only thought was her pleasure.
And then his thumb swiped over her clit, and he circled it, putting the perfect about of pressure on it and then he heard the music of her voice.
"Oh FUCK! OH My GOD EL…" she yelped. "Yeesssssss…" she said through gritted teeth as her head fell back. "Fuck me El…" she groaned.
He didn't need any other instructions. He gripped her hip with his other hand and lifted her the tiniest bit, and then moved his other hand back to her hip and held her there as he thrust himself up into her harder and faster until he felt her walls clamp down on him, her orgasm rolling through her, and her hands fell to his shoulders to hang on as she let him fuck her.
"Oh jesus Liv…" he cried out. He couldn't take it anymore. "I'm gonna come… fuck…" he strained to get out as his mind was melting.
"Come for me baby…" she begged still lost in her own climax as it shattered her above him, and he lost it. He pulled out almost all the way and slammed himself into her hard as he came. He saw stars and lost all concept of time and gravity and everything except her. He couldn't speak, or even remember his name at the moment.
He slowed his movements pulling her down over him, until finally they were both still except for their lungs still searching for air. He wrapped his arms tight around her, and she buried her head in the crook of his neck. He was still inside her, but he was in no hurry to move.
Olivia moaned a quiet little moan, and it was one of his favorites. It was her satisfied moan. The only other one that could rival that little, but powerful, moan was the one she made right before she came. The one that had him in a chokehold, and he desperately wanted to hear again and again for the rest of his life. But lucky for him, this little moan always followed the other one, so he didn't know what losing felt like.
He felt her lips press lightly into his skin across his neck and collar bone and she rolled herself off the top of him letting him slip out of her. He turned to find her hip and trace her tattoo over the bandage that he was surprised made it through the night and this morning.
He let his eyes roam over her face, as she exhaled deeply and took in a full breath. She turned her head to meet his gaze as he traced his finger over her hip.
She never wanted to wake up without him again.
"El…" she said. Her voice clear. There was no worry or nervousness in her. This was what she wanted… irrevocably forever.
"Hmm…" he said after a moment, his motor functions still lost.
"I think we should move in together."
