Hisashi Midoriya had supposed to of visited for Christmas this year. He called and told Inko and Izuku he would be there! The two were excited as they quickly cleaned the apartment and worked on decorating. Three days before Christmas, Inko's phone rang.
"Hello!" She said cheerfully.
"Hey. Some business came up I have to handle. I won't be able to make it." Silence came from Inko as she glanced back into the room. Currently Izuku was working on one of his notebooks. A few of his friends, Hitoshi, Todoroki, Iida, and Uraraka sitting in the room with him. All of them laughing and joking around. The Todoroki boy looking amused and offering quiet words that had the other teens laughing harder.
"Don't you dare Hisashi. Izuku is so excited to see you! Please, if you do this...don't come back into his life." Silence rang again and then the deep voiced sighed.
"I understand. I'm sorry Inko. I'll send the checks like normal...goodbye." With that the line clicked and Inko slowly put the receiver back down with a click. Blinking back her tears and struggling not to make a noise.
The noise in the living room seemed to have gone quiet, a gentle hand landing on her shoulder.
"Mom? What's wrong?" The others had glanced up and were watching them, the teens all sharing looks before quickly trying to appear preoccupied to give them privacy.
"It's...It's your father. He just called...he...can't make it. I'm sorry, I-" Izuku suddenly took a step back. His jaw clenching as stared furiously at the ground, pursed lips wobbling and tears swimming in his green eyes. Taking in a shuddering breath he rubbed his nose with a sniff.
"That's fine. This works better, I have plans with you and my friends anyways." Izuku turned around making to go to the living room and paused, debating going to his room for privacy.
"Deku...it's ok to be angry..." Uraraka stated. Izuku turned to his friends, a tear rolling down his cheek. He hated how easily he could cry.
"I'm not angry...it's fine! Really. This...I mean...at least he called mom and said something. Instead of...of..." He clenched his teeth again, a choked sob ripping from his throat.
"It isn't like I'm still five years old asking mom where he is." He choked out, rubbing his eyes. A gentle hand gripped his elbow and led him into the living room, sitting him down with his friends. His mother sat down on the chair in front of them.
"I..I...I learned to analyses quirks without him and got good at it! I got into U.A. Without him. L-learned to use my quirk without h-him. Made friends and have a w-wonderful mom...without him!" He broke down into sobs.
"I learned to fight without him...I've had sixteen great birthdays without him and never got a card...TO HELL WITH HIM." He cried, throwing a crumpled piece of paper. A gentle hand rubbed between his shoulders. Oddly warm, a single glance proved it to be Todoroki. When he had moved to be beside the green haired boy, Izuku he wasn't sure.
"I...I didn't need him then and I don't need him now!" Fingers carded through his hair, soft voices echoing around him and his mother choked out quiet apologies.
"H-how come he doesn't want me?" He whimpered. His mother was suddenly in front of him on her knees, holding him tight to her chest. She didn't answer, but that was ok. He had his mother and four amazing friends with him. He didn't need Hisashi. He would get married one day, be an amazing pro-hero and buy his mother a comfortable house so she could live out her days in comfort. Hisashi didn't need to be there for that. Izuku would make damn sure his father knew it too.
What's this? Did I bring in a Fresh Prince Of Belair reference?! I couldn't resist. Let me know what you think and if you'd like to see other things. :)
