Chapter 2
In this AU version of this awesome anime, The Matchup brackets for the Tournament were instead paired as this,

I rewrote this chapter, because honestly I didn't really like how the original version turned out. I felt like, it was pretty poorly structured and I just feel like I didn't put my all into it. I was sorta being self indulgent by having Kaachan Vs Deku Round 2 so early, and I decided I'll save that little gem for later. I'm sorry about that but I'll try and make it up further down the line, but hopefully you guys enjoy the rewrite of this chapter.
Now I will be skipping directly to the semi finals 2nd match, which of course is Todoroki vs Midroiya. Also I might consider making a one shot of the various matchups at sometime in the future, but the for the 1st round bracket will play out exactly as it did in canon.
"In just a moment, folks we'll see which of these two first years will be continue to the finals! The 2nd match of the semi-finals! Both of these heroes in training have been front runners in the sports festival, but here only ONE can come out on top! IT'S THE BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS! PREPARE FOR, IZUKU MIDROIYA VS SHOTO TODOROKI!"
The crowd was in an uproar as the saw the contenders for first place enter the arena. Both had proven incredible impressive throughout the sports festival. A fight between these two was certainly one to behold!
Speaking of those two, as the entered the ring they were staring at each other with the most intense of gazes. Both weren't exactly knowledgeable when it came to the other's fighting style. They both used such blinding speed in their attacks that, they couldn't get much data.
Todoroki spoke with determination laced in his voice, "So hear we are."
"Yeah, and only one of us can win."
The two rivals, started each other down with intense ferocity. You could almost see sparks flying between the two.
"He'll probably start with an ice attack."
"I can't allow him to get in close, with that speed and power of his."
Both analyzyed the other
"So, the second we start-!" Both thought.
"BEGIN!"
"ATTACK!"
As predicted, Todoroki sent his opening move of a wave of ice racing toward his opponent. Quickly reacting, the greenette sent 5% of One for All flowing through out his body. Quickly dodging the incoming wave of doom, Midoriya raced forward only to be forced to avoid yet another barrage with a running long jump. "Thanks for the idea Ida!"
Smashing his joined hands down on his opponents head, he quickly spun around delivering a right hook to his face. Sent flying from the attack, Todoroki landed harshly on the ground wiping his poor face from the nasty bruise he was nursing as well as the bump on his head.
Damn that stung! He couldn't allow him to land to many hits like that.
Wait where did he-? The son of Endeavor was soon shook out of his thoughts, by yet another right hook but this time the stomach. Before he could be sent flying, the Protoge of All Might took great care to grab the left ankle of his opponent before using a new technique he had learned from his mentor.
"Oklahoma smash!" Spinning at high speeds, creating a miniature weak cyclone around himself he flung his opponent sprawling across the arena, only barely managing to stop himself from flying out of bounds, by conjuring up an ice slide.
He saw the green blur that was his opponent rushing at from the left, as he prepared and yet another ice wall to defend himself, his completely caught off guard by Midoriya's fake out as he spun around to his left side before receiving a blow to the stomach.
That clever bastard. He was employing the same tactic, he had employed during the calvalry battle. Midroiya was consistently focusing his attack's on Shoto's left side where he couldn't defend himself to the fullest.
He needed to end this before certain... drawbacks started making themselves known. None of his other battles, actually lasted this long before. Soon it would start to take it's toll on him.
The Number 2 hero inhaled sharply, was staring at the battle going on down below, with both incredible annoyance and disappointment. Once again due to his childish rebellion, his youngest son was allowing himself to exploited. "Damn fool. Once again you're allowing that boy to take advantage of your own foolishness."
"These two, they're better then the average pro. Both of them are so skilled!" A spectator chimed in.
"If this comes down to an endurance match, it's over. I need to end this NOW." Todoroki thought to himself.
"He's trying to attack me in waves consistently, until I wear myself down. It's not just his quirk that's powerful. His judgement, reasoning, all his abilities are off the charts from what I've seen. I can't give him anytime to catch his breath. That's the only chance I have at defeating him. " Speaking of breath, he saw that Todoroki's was clearly visible. On top of that the right side his body was coated with frost, and his body was trembling. The Greenette's eyes widened as he came to a realization. "He's trembling. He must be reaching some kind of limit to his quirk or something! He calmly began to analyze the situation, hoping to think up some kind of plan.
"Midoriya! I'm sorry about this, but thanks for dragging this out. " The young dual quirk wielding boy's eyes traveled to his father. "Look at him. He's furious I'm not using his quirk. Thank for this, but it's time for this to end." He finished as sent another wave of ice flying at his opponent, pumping as much power as he could muster into this attack. "Crap, not enough time to dodge!"
"This is over." At least that is what, the Heterochromian boy thought would happen. Suddenly the ice he had sent, was shattered with a huge gust of wind sending him flying back, just barely managing to conjure an ice shield before he fell over the white line.
Another spectator in the stand commented, "He has THAT much power?! Why the hell wouldn't he use that earlier?!" Soon that same pro, would get an answer as she looked at the screen.
Midoriya had countered with full powered finger flick, though it came at the cost of the pinky finger on his left hand being broken, he was still more then capable of fighting.
"Damn it. You broke your own finger to counter my attack, why the hell are you going this far?!" He demanded.
"You're trembling Todoroki! There's a limit to how much cold your body can take right? Your body can't compensate for the drop in temperature, usually you'd use the heat from left side but you refuse to do that. " The young man raised his head from the ground, with a determined look on his face before balling his right hand into a fist. " There is no way in hell, I'll let you beat me with half your power! With half your power, you haven't even put a single scratch on me yet! Now give me everything you've got!" He finished before send himself flying forward.
"You want my fire?! What did my monster of a father bribe you or something?!" His blood was boiling at at this point, as he let that anger cloud his judgement , he foolishly charged at his opponent. The second his foot lifted of the ground, Midoriya raced forward.
Seeing the green blur make it's way to him, he quickly prepared to block but his body was to slow to ensure that. He had used to much ice, and it was finally beginning to take it's toll on him.
Taking a page out of a pink skinned friend's book, Midoriya delivered an uppercut right to Todoroki's chin. The blow kept him suspended in the air just long enough, for Midroiya's foot to sink right into his opponent's ribcage with a round house kick.
"AND MIDROIYA HAS SUDDENLY GAINED THE UPPERHAND! NOW THAT'S THE ACTION I LOVE TO SEE!"
What the hell is his problem?! Why the hell did he care whether or not he used his father's power?! His rage boiling over, a small unnoticeable amount fire began to emerge from his right side. Quickly catching himself he stopped it, before a full flame could erupt. Yet again Midoriya had made him break his oath for just a second.
Yet another wave of ice made it's way to Midoriya but clearly it was far slower and smaller then the others. Taking advantage Midoriya went low prepared to land a jab to his right side, before quickly switching to the left side of his opponent and delivering a kick to the stomach.
Barely picking himself up of the ground he heard his opponent speak, "I can never understand the pain you went through, our lives have been so different but EVERYONE here is giving it their all so they can make their dreams a reality. You have no right to be called number one if you won't give this fight your absolute best! That's why I worked so hard, so I could find a way to control my power so the people who believe in me won't be worried about me injuring myself! I wanna become a pro, that's why I'm trying my hardest just like you should be!"
As he continued his struggle to get up , Todoroki croaked out,"N-No! I refuse to use my left-"
"It's yours! It's your power not his!" Midroiya yelled frustration laced with his voice. With that he once again, began to rush his opponent.
The youngest Endeavor froze as those words had invoked his memory of something, something Shoto Todoroki had forgotten so long ago. He suddenly began to hear his mother's voice as he remembered what she had once told him.
"Honey, you are not a prisoner of your lineage. It's okay to use your power to become who you want to be."
(Cue You say Run AN: This is one of my top 5 favorite scenes of this whole show and just anime in general)
Suddenly flames burst out of the right side of his body at full power. Midoriya quickly jumped back from the ferocious flames that were raging in front of him.
"He's using his flames!" Ochako exclaimed in the stands.
"Incredible." Ida could only mutter out one word in his astonishment as he recalled what Todoroki had previously said.
"You made him use his father's power. Young Midoriya... don't tell me you were trying to save young Todoroki this whole time." All might thought already knowing the answer. That was just who his young protege was. Someone who would go to extreme lengths to help anybody in need.
As the flame warmed his body, and melted the frost coating his right side Todoroki rose to his feet.
"Helping your opponent in the middle of a battle , you fool. Even though you want to win this just as much, no who's screwing around? Todoroki begged the question. "I want it too! I'll be a hero!" Shoto truly smiled, as his opponent had freed him from the prison of self-repression he had sentenced himself too. Midoriya returned it, with a shaky smile of his own amazed at the power he had.
In that one instant, both young men felt as though only the other could truly understood them.
Wiping the tears from his scared eye, Todoroki warned, "You must be crazy Midoriya. I'll give you everything I've got, so don't blame me for what happens next." With that he began amassing huge amounts of both flame and ice on the both sides of his body.
Knowing that their duel had finally reached it's climax, Midoriya gave a determine glare toward his opponent.
Feeling obligated to reveal his true power as well, Midoriya began to power himself up. "Same here."
I'm sorry All Might, I know we created full cowling so I would hurt myself, but...I have to make an exception just this once."
"One for all full cowling 100%!" As he spread the absolute full power of his quirk throughout his body, he underwent an incredible transformation. His skin was literally glowing, as The raw power he had coursing in his veins couldn't be properly contained as energy began to leak of is body, specifically out of his eyes which had become distorted, shredding his top as well as the sleeves on his tracksuit. And that wasn't all, his hair had not only began to stand up, but it adopted a spikier appearance and began to glow. "My bones feel like their grinding, but nothing's breaking yet."
The crowds' jaws dropped to the floor as the saw the appearance Midoriya's power had given due the absolute raw power he had flowing through his veins. Everyone in the crowd somehow knew, that this would be the final exchange between the two young heroes.
Young Midoriya you aren't holding anything back." All Might thought while he watched with anticipation as the battle below would soon reach it's conclusion.
Bakugo looked like he was going to explode without even using his quirk as, nothing but pure unbridled rage became apparent on his face. HOW MUCH POWER WAS THAT DAMN NERD HIDING?! That bastard better win. He wanted to destroy that useless piece of shit with his own two hands.
Meanwhile in a top secret location, the creator of One For All looked at the screen with an eery smile on his face. "So my old foe. It seems... you've chosen a successor for yourself. Now I know... that HE is here!"
"AND MIDORIYA HAS UNDERTAKEN AN AWESOME TRANSFORMATION!"
"That's it Midnight! Those two could kill each other!" Cementoss roared before beginning to erect Stone walls to halt the two in their tracks.
Creating biggest ice wave he could muster, with everything he had and even more that that, he fired it off toward the strongest opponent he had ever faced.
Launching himself forward at full speed, Midoriya cocked right fist back for an attack at full power 100% percent smash. "I'll give this everything I've got, not come at me with your FULL POWER TODOROKI!"
As he melted the ice and heated up the air in preperation for his final attack, he muttered something only he could possible hear," Midoriya... Thank you." Something that he meant wholeheartedly.
Walls of cement had emerged between the two, not that it even mattered as the full power of Midoriya's wind power and Todoroki's heat ripped through the walls as if they were cotten candy.
The sheer power of the shockwave, completely decimated the stadium, as the spectators were hit with the full force of it. The two of those boys, the amount of pure potential they had was insane! Midnight meanwhile, was knocked off her stand as her glasses, were sent flying from the wind.
As the pro got back to his feat, Cementoss thought aloud in amazement, "Having a great power doesn't make you a great hero, but these two are quite incredible."
"I've said it before and I'll say it again. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TEACHING THESE KIDS ERASER?!"
As the smoke began to settle, everyone was shocked at what they saw.
Both Midoriya and Todoroki were down for the count, and out of bounds.

3 Days Later
On his way back from the short break alotted after the events of the sports festival, Midoriya received a pleasant surprise onboard the train to school.
Another passenger exclaimed, "Hey excuse me but, your Izuku Midoriya from class 1-A right?! I rooted for you!"
"Yeah great job in the sports festival, I mean you were tied for 2nd place right? That's so impressive, I mean your opponent was Endeavor's son and you fought him to a draw!" A woman in a pantsuit exclaimed, while giving a thumbs up.
"KEEP TRYING FOR IT HERO!" The entirety of the car encouraged the young man.
All said young man could do, was nervously reply with a smile "I-I will."
Maybe things didn't go as he wanted them to, but he gave it everything he had and he never gave up. And yeah, he didn't win like he wanted and he didn't make the announcement to the world, but now... now people would KNOW he is here.
And also keep in mind, Deku won't be needing surgery because this was NOWHERE near the level of physical trauma he put himself through in canon.
A lot of people feel like 5% Full cowling wouldn't be able to do much against Todoroki but I wholeheartedly disagree with that. They forget that eventually, Todoroki's weakness would make itself known he would have been slowed down enough for Midoriya to pull out the win.
Also the exact placing for the chapter were, Bakugo in 1st (chained up like canon), Midoriya and Todoroki tied for 2nd, with Tokoyami in the distant third.
Also I hoped you enjoyed the rewrite of this chapter, I truly believe the writing and pacing of the story played out better in this version but once again any reviews would be greatly appreciated to help me improve on what I'm lacking. I just ask you be tough, but fair with them.
