Chapter 3

Okay I hope people liked the rewrite in the last chapter, as I realized the trap I fell into . I was so excited with writing that fight between Deku and Kaachan , I totally forgot I needed to build it up first. Going forward I need to try not to fall into that trap again and be more patient. Also once again any reviews or suggestions on how to improve my writing or what I'm lacking would be appreciated .

This is gonna shed some light, on two of Midoriya's biggest problems that has been pointed out time and time through out the series again. One his problem with just plain telegraphing his movements. I mean it's been pointed out by Bakugo and Overhaul just to name a couple. And Number two his imitation of All Might, is limiting his true potenital. It's something I'm gonna try and work on during this chapter

Also I was kind of feeling under the weather when I wrote this, so it suffer a little from it.

"Now why don't you fire up One for all huh? I want to see what you can do." Gran Torino asked in more serious tone then previously demonstrated, as he ruffled through the young man's suitcase.

Wait, what? This guy he acting totally different then before, just a second ago he seemed for lack of a better term, shall we say confused. This is All Might's old teacher after so maybe, that was some sort of test of his analytical abilities or something.

"Who are you again? What are you doing here" The seemingly senile Old man questioned the boy.

...Yeah, or he could be just be totally bonkers. He had gotten plenty of offers after, tying for 2nd in the sports festival and all. However the reason he chose this, was because this was All Might's former teacher. It was even better then that he knew about One for all, who else would be better then to learn how to improve his control over his quirk. But he just had one serious question to ask.

"Seriously what the heck is up with this guy?!" The green haired youth sweatdropped as he, was completely baffled at the man in front of him.

"I'm here because I need to learn how to control One for all. As far as I've come with it, I need to get so much better at I then I am, because I'm not sure how much time All Might has left. So I'm sorry, but I can't spent the entire week goofing off. Midoriya apologized as he tried to excuse himself.

"As I thought" was all he heard, before the man zipped around the room at top speed, faster then the eye could see.

Suddenly the old man appeared as he lodged himself onto the top of the doorway, and looked down upon his new student, as if he were an ant.

"I watched the U.A sports festival on T.V, the way you used your quirk was quite clever. You're style of fighting was completely lacking however. Perhaps All Might isn't as completely hopeless at teaching, as I thought he would be, however it seems he's still a complete novice when it comes to teaching . I guess being the Symbol of Peace, doesn't translate into teaching. Now hurry and get your costume on, I want to see what you can do you newbie! " The Veteran Hero, challenged his young ward.

Seeing the act the man had put on was over,Midoriya realized that he was the real deal after all noting the similarties between him and All Might, as he smiled and confidently announced, "I'm ready please teach me everything!"

After putting on the new and improved version of his Mother's suit (despite being mildly annoyed at alterations being done to his beloved super suit with asking him, he had to admit it once he looked himself over, he actually looked pretty cool), he readied himself in front of his new teacher.

"All right kid, five minutes. That's how long you've got to try and hit me with a smash. Starting right, now!" The old man announced as he suddenly disappeared from sight once more, and landed a flying side kick in the back.

"Crap! That hurt."

"What? You didn't realize my true strength earlier?" The old man smirked evilly as he landed on top of the kitchen counter.

Quickly pumping the 5% of One for all throughout his body, Midoriya lept at the man hoping to reach him before he could react.

Ah, if only he knew how futile it would be at the time. The man easily anticpated the attack and dodged accordingly, before he kicked the boy back, before once again delivering another attack to the back.

His speed was no joke! While his attack's weren't carrying much power with him, but that speed of his more then made up for it. He needed to keep him still for just a second if he wanted to win the mock battle.

"I just need to keep him in one place, even if just for a second! But whe- THERE!" Midoriya thought desperately as dog dived under a couch he spotted for cover, hoping his opponent would take the bait.

"Don't be stupid I can still see if you're trying to buy time it wo-" The Three generational friend of One for all, was suddenly interrupted when the piece of furniture was sent flying toward him. Hoping to take advantage of the window of opportunity, All Might's protege leapt into the air only to just slightly fall shorts of hitting his speeding target as he narrowly dodged it.

"Almost kid!" Gran Torino taunted , with that same smirk plastered on his face, as he heard the shockwave of pure force shot forward, hitting assorted cans of food .

"Okay he's struck me in the back twice so..."

The Veteran once again bounced behind the green haired boy to ram his back , before he was surprised by that brash young upstart's maneuverability as he launched himself to the roof before send himself rocketing toward his opponent.

If only he knew what a mistake it was to have hope, as once again that old man's speed was simply to great , as he narrowly avoid the smash before delivering a headbutt to his stomach sending him flying into the wall. As he made to get back up, he was suddenly pinned down, and landed upon by his aged mentor and he simply accepted his defeat at the time.

"Crap I thought for sure I had you that time." The semi muffled voice of Midoriya spoke out, tinged with disappointment in himself

"Listen to me, the way you used One For All throughout the Sports Festival shows you've managed to achieve a firm handle on the quirk, you can understand the basic fundementals that much is clear. But the admiration you hold for All Might, is nothing but shackles weighing you down. And as I said before your fighting style is severely lacking , from what I've your movements are far too predictable and straightforward . Yes it is true you must get stronger, time waits for no one villains won't care if you've reached your true potential or not. And your biggest problem is, you're far too concerned with trying to imitate your mentor instead of finding a method of attack that suits you." Gran Torino lectured, as he began to walk away from the newbie.

"W-well, what should I do then?" Midoriya questioned while picking himself up off the floor.

"You think about that on your own time. The most valuable kind of the training, is figuring out the answer on your own. Meanwhile I'll grab us some grub, so clean this place up for me while I'm gone."

He left the young man lost in his thoughts.

"My admiration for All Might is a shackle?"

As the Veteran Pro made his way the Grocery store he, thought about the brat's problem. The kid had power and speed that much was clear, but just power wouldn't be enough to always win the day. He'd never win a fight if his movements were that damn predictable. It was like... the kid had a nice car, but no license to drive the car.

However a smirk made its way to his face as he wiped the small scratch the brat had managed to inflict upon him. "Been a looong time since I had to seriously dodge an attack. Heh, that kid's gonna be a real monster when he's all grown up".

"You arrogantly believe that you are the best, and you shamelessly display that belief with no regard for how it reflects on you or your image. That in combination with your anger could easily lead you down a dark path." The Number 4 hero lectured his young intern while effortlessly restraining him. "It's my responsibility to society to correct people like you. Heroes and Villians are cut from the same exact cloth. Over this week I'll show you what makes a hero, I'll stitch these things into the fabric of you're very being.

What this shithead just gonna spend the whole time lecturing him?! He's the one who made the offer. But (not that he'd ever admit it) he did sort of understand what he was saying.

The explosive (in more ways the one) boy, was... shall we say rather irked, about having won by forfeit and had to be chained to the podium like a dog to recieve his prize. Both Todoroki and Midoriya were in no condition to be even consider competing in the finals and were forced to drop out. Pissed wouldn't do justice to how Bakugo felt. He didn't earn SHIT, winning like that held no real meaning in it if he didn't earn it fair and square.

He remembered how he came to this Agency in the first place.

Flashback

"Now, here are the totals for those of you who got offers." The recently unbandaged homeroom teacher , announced as he gestured at the board behind him .

Earlier the recently unbandaged Aizawa had shown the entirety of the class, As the screen showed the list, the entirety of the class were surprised at the top leaders of the board. Todoroki came in first, with 4123 offers, A certain greenhaired boy came in 2nd with 3556 offers, and the explosive champion of the festival, came in 3rd with 2185 offers.

"WHAT DUMBASSES , CHOSE DEKU ?! " Said champion roared, as if the answer wasn't obvious.

"Wait, Todoroki and Midoriya have the most votes ahead of Bakugo? Even though they tied for second?" Ear girl, questioned in surprise.

After the devestating 2nd semi final match, the 2nd place duo were far to injured to even think compete against Bakugo in the finals leading to their disqualification.

"Well they probably weren't too eager to work with the dude, who had to chained up to get his medal." Tape Arms muttered with that smirk on his face as always.

The young One For All user himself, was practically in Nirvana at this point. Pro heroes, actually acknowledged him and wanted to help shepherd his growth. After the process of choosing their hero names, the Greenette was suddenly surprise at the appearance of his master.

So consumed in his anger, Bakugo almost missed, the Symbol Of Peace slide up to the doorway.

"I am here in an awkward position! Please come with me Young Midoriya, there is something we must discuss." All Might exclaimed while looking like he was drowning with sweat for some reason. What would All Might want with a useless little shit like Deku? Why did a nobody like him garner the Number One hero's attention?

Flashback end

He was supposed to improve over this week not be wasting his time with lectures, from some weirdo. Deku had improved drastically in the two weeks leading up to the sports festival. Hell he had even used his moves to improve, the damn copycat. But this began happening long before the sports festival, Ever since the two of them entered U.A, nothing had gone the way it was supposed to. He was supposed to be superior, but he just kept... losing that abttle. And that little shit, just kept getting better and better always looking so pleased. One thing was certain in Young Katsuki Bakugo's mind.

"One day I'm gonna CRUSH that little bastard." The teen growled in his head with anger.

" I understand the fundamentals, but I'm too concerned with trying to imitate me mentor instead of finding a method of attack that suits me." The young Greenette was lost in his thoughts as made his way out into the cool night air to begin his own training.

He sort of understood what he was saying now. He didn't need to do what All Might would do. He needed to do what Izuku Midoriya would do.

Could that be what was making his movements too predictable as Gran Torito put it? True, ever since he invented Full Cowling he was just imitating his idol's fighting style. Maybe that's what he meant, when he told him he was too busy trying to imitate All Might instead of finding his own method of attack. He needed to solidify his own special way of fighting , but what could it be?

The main reason he probably he did so well in the Sports Festival, was probably that it was still new and it was surprise to his opponents. But that wouldn't last forever, like his teacher's teacher said, he wouldn't ever win fights if he kept telegraphing his moves.

Well... Maybe analyzing his battles during During the sports festival his battle with Shinso had been fairly simple. Sure he had nearly walked out of the bounds after opening his mouth, but once seeing the Vestiges and managing to free himself he simply punched his purple haired foe out of bounds. With Kirishima in the 2nd rounds, he had been forced on the defensive by the rock hard hero. His hardening completely dampened his punches so they had no real effect at first, instead he chose to keep his distance knowing his opponents' quirk simply wasn't suited for bouts of attrition. And eventually, his defense had crumbled under the pressure.

With the semi final match against Todoroki, he maintained the upperhand for a large portion of the battle, but that was mostly because of his opponent giving himself a handicap. However, once he got in close he managed to surprise him by faking a punch, before landing a...

DING!

Maybe, just maybe. Something so simplistic for a solution, could be the answer he was looking for! Quickly taking out his handy dandy notebook, he began excitedly scribbling away in his notebook as he thought up this new attack style.

The Next Day in Hosu (Spongebob french narrator)

"Come on Ida, please tell me you didn't do something so stupid!" Midoriya desperately thought as he ran through the streets searching for his friend.

"I don't know for sure, but I can't just do nothing. I need to do something, the nomu are casuing a panic and Ida just happpens to run off. I hope I'm wrong, but I think I might be right. I should have said something at the train station, when I knew something was off about Ida, but I didn't" As his mind ran a mile a minute, he suddenly saw something in the corner of his eye. Something that made his blood go cold.

"SAY WHATEVER YOUR WANT! YOUR JUST THE CRIMINAL WHO HURT MY BROTHER!" The youngest of the Ida exclaimed, as The Hero Killer himself stood on his head.

The green haired boy's brain shut down, as his body went on autopilot wrapping himself in green lightning and he launched himself toward the criminal.

Just as Stain moved to sink his blade into his friend, Midoriya delivered a 5% Detorit Smash to the his face. Made it just in the nick of time.

"It's him! The guy from Shigaraki's photo."

"M-Midoriya, how?" Ida questioned.

"Don't you worry Ida, I'm gonna save you." Midoriya reassured with a smile before notice the fallen hero Native on the ground.

Damn it, how could he be so stupid! Sure he didn't exactly have proof, but still he should have at least made a couple of pros come with there was someone else here too! If it was just Ida he could have picked him up and ran, but now he didn't have a choice with the Hero Killer's quirk paralyzing them both. Now he had to fight and hope, at the very least he would delay him long enough for the pros to show up. Who knows maybe he could even for him to retreat, right?

"This has nothing to do with you Midoriya! You don't have to get involved." If he hadn't seen it he never would have believed those words came out of the usual rule abiding, straight laced Class Prez's mouth.

"You showed up to save your friend's life. You even made a big entrance. But I have a duty to kill him and this so called pro. When your friend chose to fight me, it guaranteed that the weaker of us would be culled." Stain announced with hardened eyes, as if he were simply stating a fact. The glare sent a chill down Midoriya's spine almost paralyzing him with fear.

It was exactly like All Might had said back then too. "Criminals like you, you always try to make your actions seem noble." But he wasn't anything like the villains back at the U.S.J. Those were the eyes of a fanatic, The young One for All inheritor noticed, before send a distress call with his phone behind his back.

"I told you this has nothing to do with you. Just run!" Ida begged his friend.

"If you really believe that, then why are you trying to become a hero in the first place?! There are plenty of things I'd like to say, but they'll have to wait. All Might was right, though. Giving help that's not asked for, is what makes a hero" Midoriya exclaimed with a shaky smile, to hide how terrified he was and taking up a fighting stance.

A eerie smile broken out on Stain's face. "This kid... he's the real deal."

Quickly activating Full Cowling, Midoriya initiated their duel by raced forward to his opponent. "Gotta close the distance between us and fast!"

"Trying to get in close to negate my strike huh? Not bad." Stain thought actually intrigued by the boy's movements.

Midoriya quickly made to dodge, once he noticed Stain drew a knife and baseball slid underneath his legs. Turing around to strike the boy, he was surprised to see the boy was not below, but above. "A 5% St. Louis smash!" Midoriya arched his leg before bring it down upon the back Hero Killer's head.

As he landed his mind raced. "Did it work? Did I get him?! Yes it worked!" Midoriya thought estatic at seeing the effectiveness of his new fighting style. Instead of focusing on my arms I use my legs. One for All Full Cowling: Shoot Style!"

And there we have it. I hope this chapter came out well, I hoping this one is well recieved compared to the other ones. Also Once again any reviews to help me improve would be greatly appreciated. I'll try and get the next chapter out before school starts, until the next one. :)
