Love Doesn't Sit Still
2
A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Galar region and games (Sword/Shield) featuring CanonXOC It is based on the GAMES not the anime/manga. And to clarify confusion (because I know I have written multiple fic based on these games XD ) This is a completely different and separate story from the other Sword/Shield fics I have written. They are not connected and they do not interract.
Hop rose early morning. He kicked his shoes on and rushed off with his trusted Wooloo following close behind him. It was a playful race to the top of the hill, headed toward the house where she lived...
"Okay Wooloo! You know what to do!" he winked and pointed to the wooden door, "Now...use Tackle!"
"Beeeeeeh~!"
Wooloo bleated happily and began its series of rolling tackles into the door.
And Now...a man who needs no intriduction at this point- our undefeated, unbeatable champion, Leon!"
THWACK.
THWACK.
THWACK.
"Goodness who's tackling the door!?" Aanya's mother Suzette huffed.
"Aanya, answer that would you!?"
"Beeh?"
"you said it, Floofy." Aanya heaved a heavy sigh as she rose to her feet, "It was just getting to the good part too...Oh, your bow is loose." the girl giggled and hummed a cheerful tune as she straighted the little pink bow upon her Wooloo's head. She did that so she could distinguish the her, from Hop's own Wooloo.

"Ahhhh it's so cute!" the girl squealed when a Wooloo seemed to poke its head around from behinf his knee as he introduced himself.
"Oh, that's my Wooloo!" he stated, "We have them a plenty around these parts...hmmm...Ahh!" The boy beamed as his dropped his balled fist to his palm, "I've got it! how about to comemorate our new found friendship, I go and catch you one!" he stated, "that way, we'll match, and our partners can play together! it gives us a valid excuse to hang out, yeah!?" he beamed.

And so...I wound up with my very own Wooloo...as a welcome to the town gift, from Hop.
She giggled.
Aanya was seated in the livingroom and rolled her eyes as her mother called for her to answer the door once again. There was really only one person it could be, and she was surprised that her mother even had to wonder at this point.
Hop sure likes to make his presence known huh?
She thought to herself, snickering as she continued to ignore the thwacking of his Wooloo's tackle against the door. The boy really wasn't joking about befriending her was he? They have hung our for a while quite loyally now for a good few months at this point. It was safe to say they were pretty tight... and though, Aanya would never admit to it out loud- she really liked having Hop around. She had been watching the Exhibition match between the Unbeatable Champion Leon and his rival, Gym Leader Raihan. In her short time in Potswick, she had become quite the Leon fan. Of course...she had a little inspiration...
THWACK!
"Ooo~ KAY, I'm COMING!" she huffed.
"Hello Hello Hello~" Hop's familiar cheery voice sounded on the other side of the door and Aanya blushed as she swiftly tried to straighten her fly aways with one hand while opening the door with the other.
My hair's such a mess!
A lot of good that did however-
"Ahh!" Aanya squealed as she was greeted with the hard rolling tackle of a familiar Hop's also familiar Wooloo.
"Ooof~!" Hop winced and stifled a chuckle, "You okay Aan?" he asked, laughing as he leaned over a defeated Aanya but she had no complaints. She was all giggles, snuggled deeply into Wooloo's wool.
"Sooooooo Fluffy~!" she squealed and nestled in deeper.
"Beeeeh~"
"Yes, You're fluffy too." she called to her own Wooloo, "That's why I named you Floofy!"
"Haha...well you know wild Wooloo are rampant round here." said Hop, "But I think our two, are the best ones." he grinned as he straighted Floofy's pink bow, "Nice touch Aan~" he winked.
"Welllll~ you know how I do~" she chuckled awkwardly blushing. Sure these two were friends, but she still acted weird around him from time to time.
"Still though it's not the same if I don't catch Poke'mon myself." she sighed as she pat Floofy tenderly, "I hope someday I might have that chance..."
"Well you know, Aan..." Hop blinked, "I have a few extra Poke'balls- why don't we got out and catch Floofy some friends?" he grinned.
"I can't just keep using up all your Poke'balls, Hop!" Aanya laughed.
"Fiiine~ Fine, so stubborn." he teased. He blinked as a glint on the ground near Aanya caught his eye.
"Oh...that your flash new phone, Aan?" he asked as he picked it up.
Aan. hardly a clever nick name really...but she liked it...especially when Hop said it.
"Were you watching Lee's exhibition match on it?" he chuckled,"You know you can't properly cheer him on with your hands full, right?" he laughed,"The only proper way to cheer on Lee is to do his signature Charizard Pose!" said Hop, striking Leon's ever famous pose that had become more than a passing trend around anywhere in Potswick.
"No kidding!" said Aanya, jumping to her feet, "I've been practicing too! See!?"
Hop laughed as he watched her spin into the classic Leon stance.
"Added some flare to it, I see!" he laughed and did it with her. The humble little home was full of the echoing giggles of two competitive spirits. The warmest of smiles. the best of friends. and the fieryest of rivalaries. All in the spirit of friendly competition. Suzette walked by with a basket of fresh linens chuckling as the two kids who, to her eyes, looked to be dancing.
"Charizard posing again~?" she questioned.
"Wh-What- No!" Aanya blushed and immediately retreated her posture, bringing out an amused laugh from Hop.
"You know she practiced that pose over and over in her room~"
"MOM!" Aanya blushed as Hop only laughed harder.
"Anyway, I didn't expect to see you here today, Hop, dear." said Suzette,"Isn't today the big day?"
"Yeah, that's exactly why I came running over to get Aan~" he beamed.
"H-Hey! Put me down!" she laughed as he lifted her with bear hug arms.
"Lookit'you!" he laughed, "You don't even have shoes! Come on Aan-ee!" he beamed,.
Another adorable twist he liked to add to her name when he was feeling especially playful. "Never mind watching his match now, I've got it recording at home anyway! You can come over later and we can watch together, yeah?"
She blushed.
You mean like a movie date...?
With Hop...
" Wait, recording? Are you serious!?" laughed Aanya.
"Yeah, I record all of my brother's matches!" he beamed, "Now come on! Go get your shoes on and come with me Aan-ee!"said Hop, "He should be here any minute!"
"O-KAY~!" said Aanya blushing in his tight embrace, "But you gotta put me down first or I won't be able to go anywhere!" His strength always surprised her. But then it could also be simply because she wasn't all that big. He was taller than her, and his hugs were always so warm and tight.
"Oh, right, sorry!" he laughed and placed her down gently on her two bare feet, but his hug didn't release right away. She sunk into it and nuzzled her face into his arms.
"You know, Aanya..." he said softly by her ear, "You're...really small." he teased.
She blushed heavily.
"Gah! Whatever, just let me go!" she laughed and forced her way out of his arms, though it was a bit of a playful struggle. He enjoyed teasing her... a little too much. Got bopped in the arm for it more times than he could count.
"HaHaHa okay, okay!" he laughed, "Anyway, I gotta run...see you at mine later?" he said with a wave.
"Oh but Hop, are you sure you don't want some tea or I could have Aanya make some cocoa?"
"No thanks, ! Just send her my way once she's ready!" he said, and he was back out the door.
"Beeeeh~!"
Wooloo followed.
"Silly Hop..." Aanya mumbled, trying not to give into her smile that came every time he visited. "He can't sit still anywhere for the life of him."
She mumbled.
"And you know something, dear?" said Suzette,"Ever since you two became friends...neither can you!"
"MOM~!"
Suzette snickered. Even her own mother teased her too much.
Aanya struggled with her outfit. And her hair. She didn't know why she was trying to look good anyway. It never really lasted when she and Hop got thrown together. A lot of energy was spent between them. Between racing, and stupid dancing, and multiple Charizard Poses. They had that anything you can do, I can do better - relationship that usually ended in a fit of laughter.
"Oh, now don't you look like a treat dear~" her mother giggled as she stepped out,"You better rush along now..." she said, "Hop is waiting on you isn't he?" she asked, a bit of teasing in her tone.
Aanya shot her a blushing glance.
She knew her mother knew the answer to that...
What was the point in even asking?
It was just another way her mother teased her. With blushing cheeks, she hurried out. Running down hill made her move faster, and Floofy rolled along beside her. She loved playing with Hop's Wooloo. Aanya's mother chuckled from the door way as she watched her daughter rush to the house at the bottom of the hill.
Looking at her now, it's hard to believe she used to be so lonely...
She smiled.
I'm glad she finally has a friend.
I only hope that this time we can stay a while...or it would break my little girl's heart, now that she finally has a reason to stay somewhere...
She sighed as she stepped inside and slowly closed the door behind her.
