Love Doesn't Sit Still

A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Galar region and games (Sword/Shield) featuring CanonXOC It is based on the GAMES not the anime/manga. And to clarify confusion (because I know I have written multiple fic based on these games XD ) This is a completely different and separate story from the other Sword/Shield fics I have written. They are not connected and they do not interract.

"Hold on...you want me to WHAT, mate!?" Leon was at a loss for words. What was to be expected when his little brother woke up early to drag him out of bed, bed head and all, and ask him to talk to Aanya's mom!?

"Come on, pleeeease!?" Hop begged, "She'll have to listen to you, you're an adult!"

"That doesn't mean that she would listen to me, little brother!" Leon blinked.

Was this boy mad!?

"Well...you could atleast TRY couldn't you?" asked Hop.

"And just what is it exactly that you want me to try and do here?" Leon blinked.

"Just TALK to her!"

"About!?"

"Reasons that they should stay put!"

Leon sighed.

"I told you, Hop...that's not our place to say anything about." he said softly.

"Then...just talk to her abotu whatever!" he huffed, "Look, Aan was supposed to meet me a little bit ago, maybe she got in trouble or something I don't know, that's why I was thinking that maybe you could have a chat with her mum..."

Leon blinked some more and just stared a while. His brother was asking him for a mighty big favor...but he couldn't exactly resist him either...he sighed.

"All right." he said softly, "But I won't make any promises of anything, you got that?"

"YES!" Hop beamed and leapt to the air for joy, "Wicked! You're awesome Lee! Now come on! let's go!"

"Hold on, can't I atleast make myself presentable first!?" his little brother was a massive ball of energy...a force to be reckoned with when he was trying to get something he wanted. After finally convincing him to let him prim himself up properly, the two made their way up the hill to Aanya's house. As Leon lifted his arm about to knock, his little brother held his arm back and shook his head.

"Let me show you how it's done~" he grinned, "All right Wooloo! Do your thing!"

"Beeeehhh~!"

As per every other usual morning routine, Hop sent his Wooloo into a rolling tackle repeatedly over and over against the hardwood door.

"Come ON Aan, wake UP!" he called to her, "Get off your lazy bum and come meet me like you promised-AHH!" he let out a yelp when Suzette was the one who answered the door instead of Aanya and quickly grabbedhis Wooloo to keep from bowling her over.

"Ahh, Ms. Suzette!" Leon said softly.

"Oh, Hop?" she blinked, "And Leon too...?"
"Sorry about this!" said Leon with a sheepish grin.

"Yeah, sorry!" said Hop, "We were trying to get Aanya-"

"What? Aanya?" Suzette blinked, "...I haven't seen Aanya since last night... she said softly, "And she was already gone out opf the house when I went to check on her this morning..." she stated, "I thought she was off with you already, Hop."

"What? She's not here?" Hop and Leon blinked as they looked to each other.

"Wait...so you mean she's NOT with you, then?" asked Suzette.

The boys shook their heads.

"That's mighty odd..." said Leon.

"Yeah, I know she was home last night..." said Hop, "We talked on the phone."

"Then...where could she be, now?" Leon blinked.

"Beeeeeeh~!"

"Ah? Floofy?" Hop blinked as Aanya's Wooloo that he caught for her rolled out in a bit of a tizzy, "What is it, girl?" he asked, "What's got you all up in a rile?"

"Beeeh! Beeeeh!"

"What's this now?" asked Leon.

"Oh, this is Floofy." said Hop, "She's the Wooloo I caught for Aanya as a gift a while back-" he stated, "What is it girl? Where's Aanya, hm? H-Hey!" Hop stumbled about as Floofy kept rolling into his legs as though trying to get him to move and follow her somewhere, "Floofy! What on earth has gotten into you!?" he asked, but she kept rolling him, and Leon and Suzette followed, stopping just before the gate to the Slumbering Weald, where Floofy began bleating repeatedly in a panic.

"Say what?" Hop blinked, "...Surely she wouldn't have gone in there..."

"the gate has loosened..." said Leon, after checking the fencing.

Hop's eyes began to slowly widen in a panic.

"...Aan...?"

"Hop, stay here." said leon, "I will go in and-"

"Aan!"

"HOP!"

Of course leon's little brother didn't listen. He quickly hopped the fence and dashed inside of the Slumbering Weald while Leon called to him.

"Oh no, Aanya..." Suzette gasped softly. She was about to go in as well, until Leon held her back.

"Don't go in, ." said Leon, "There are far stronger Poke'mon hiding in the Slumbering Weald...without of Poke'mon of your own, it's far too risky." he stated.

"Hop and Aanya at least have the poke'mon I gave them, but it's still dangerous, I will go in-and I will make sure to return Aanya home safely."

"Oh, Leon..." Suzette said softly nodding, "Thank you."

"I don't...understand..." Aanya whispered softly, holding a whimpering Sobble against her chest as she scanned the massive forest area, "I can hear you...but I don't see you, anywhere..."

"AwoooOOOoooohaa..."

"There it is again." she gasped, "The crying I heard before...that called me here..." she stated and began to search around her area more rapidly.

"I can hear you!" she called back, "I want to help you! Where are you!?"

This started early this morning. Aanya rose to make her bed and was preparing to make her way over to Hop's to meet him for whatever it is he wanted...but just as she walked out the door and shut it behind her, she began to hear this crying, coming from the Slumbering Weald...

"AwwwOOOOoooohaa~!"

What is that?

She wondered to herself, gasping as it only seemed to get louder.

It sounds like someone is crying...

Are they in trouble?

Do they need help?

"AwoooooooOOOOOOOhha~!"

She gasped again. This time she was certain there was crying in the woods.

"Beeeh~!" Floofy seemed unsettled by it, and tried to lure her trainer away.

"It's okay, Floofy, I'll be okay." she said patting the sheep poke'mon and fixing her bow, "I think someone's in trouble..." she said, "If they are, I should try to help them, right?"

"Beeeh!"

"Don't worry Floofy...I'll be right back...I promise."

And now hear she was.

Venturing even deeper...and deeper...and oh so deeper into the woods...and still no closer to the cries.

"AwwwOOOOOOoooohhha~!"

"It's much louder this time..." she said to her Sobble, "We must be getting close-"

"Aan!"

Startled by the voice that was calling her name, she stopped and shot back toward it.

"Hop!" she called back, and quickly ran to meet him.

"Are you mad!?" Hop huffed, "You KNOW we're not supposed to be inhere!"

"Y-yes I know, but-"

"But what!?" he asked.

"I couldn't help it." she said softly, "I thought I heard someone crying in here...I wanted to try and help them..."

"What?" he blinked, "You heard someone crying?"

Right at this moment, Hop heard it too.

"AwwooooOOOOooooaahhh~!"

Hop gasped and shot his head around rapidly.

"See!?" said Aanya, "There it is again..."

"yeah, I heard it..." said Hop, moving in a little closer, "but you still shouldn't have come in here alone!" he huffed, "You should have come to get me, I would have helped you!"

"I know..." she said softly, "...I'm sorry."

"it's all right..." Hop sighed, "I'm here now, so come on." he said holding out his hand to her, "Let's go find and help that person, together, yeah?"

Aanya blinked a few times before nodding.

"Y-Yeah...okay." she said softly, placing her hand in his and he held it tight.

"Whatever you do, you make sure you hold onto me, got it?" he said to her, "Don't you ever let go, you hear?"

"R-Right!" Aanya gulped, and nodded, "Okay!"

This time they moved together, quickly, hand in hand, until they reached a clearingm and suddenly...dead silence.

"This is mad..." Hop whispered softly as he shot his head aroundm still holding onto Aanya's hand, "Suddenly there's not a sound to be heard..."

"Yeah..." said Aanya, "That's...kinda creepy..."

"Not to add to your fear factor, Aan..." Hop said softly as he pulled her a little closer, "...but the fog is really coming on thick now." he stated.

he was right. A mist was rising between the trees, and it only got thicker the more they progressed.

"If we don't whatever it is crying out in the mist soon...this could spell some real trouble." he stated.

Aanya nodded.

"Let's hurry then. She said, and the ventured out even further. The silence was unsettling.

"AwwoooaOOOOOaaoooha~!"

They both jumped.

"Did you hear that!?" asked Hop.

"It was so loud that time-"

"We must be really close now!" said Hop, "But, I'm starting to think that wasn't a person that you heard crying out..."

And right he was... For out of the mist, silently, there was no person...but two massively strong looking wolf-like creatures stepping out before them.

They both gasped and jumped back. Instinctavely Hop threw Aanya behind him, with an arm extended defensively.

"This is mad!" he stated, "I can't even see my own hand in front of my face...and now these two mad beasts just appear from the mist..." he carefully stepped back keeping Aanya close, "I think I get now why this place is off-limits..."

"Hop, what should we do...?" asked Aanya

The beasts growled and let out a massive cry before leaping at them.

"Ahh!" Hop cried out and shoved Aanya away as he leapt the two of them out of their path.

"I don't think we have a choice, mate!" he stated, "We're gonna have to defend ourselves here! Go Scorbunny!" he called out as he sent off his poke'mon.

"Right...then I'll fight with you!" said Aanya, "Sobby, Go!"

Two on two they stood against these massive beasts.

"Now, Scorbunny, use ember!"

"Sobby use water gun, go!"

But the attacks had no effect.

"The moves have no effect on them!?" Hop questioned in shock.

"More than that...they seemed to go straight through..."

The beasts began to approach, and they called for attacks again, but instead with a huff of breath, the fog only seemed to thicken around them.

"Aanya, I can't see anything!" said Hop, "You okay!?"

"I'm fine, but this mist is s thick!"

no matter how many embers or water gun attacks they used it did nothing. The mist only thickenedmuntil nothing was visible at all.

"I can't see anything!" gasped Aanya.

"Auuugh!"

Then... nothing.
