Love Doesn't Sit Still

A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Galar region and games (Sword/Shield) featuring CanonXOC It is based on the GAMES not the anime/manga. And to clarify confusion (because I know I have written multiple fic based on these games XD ) This is a completely different and separate story from the other Sword/Shield fics I have written. They are not connected and they do not interract.

Hop is relentless...

When it comes to something he wants, he goes for it...

Straight for it... without thought...

These were the thoughts she was having as Aanya took the lead. an olive skinned hand wrapped tightly around her tan colored hand. So warm...so strong...

so...desperate.

It made her heart tighten a bit...relieved to feel that Hop felt just as strongly as she did about her staying...if he can help it.

"The Professor lives just at the end of Route 2." he explained to her, "It's a straight shot. Let's keep going, Aan!"

Upon the route however...there were plenty of distractions...

Bird Poke'mon took to the skies...and so many scurried within the grasses between where they were at and where they were going. The reflection in Aanya's jeweld eyes constricted Hop's heart a bit...he smiled and stopped.

"Say... here's an idea, mate." he stated, grasping the girl's attention, "it's a straight shot between here and the Professor's house." he stated, "So why not race? only with a twist."

"What kind of twist?" Aanya asked with a raised brow. Hop always enjoyed a race...but to add something was a bit new for it...

"Let's see what we can catch between here and there!" he stated, "We'll split off- that way we won't know what each other will catch until we battle again." he stated.

Aanya felt a little odd about this...

"Why not, yeah?" he asked, "We've time a plenty in the day still!"

Says the guy who only moments ago was saying we haven't the time to waste...

Aanya thought to herself.

" So...what do you say?"

She blinked a few moments and took a glance around her. She could see the Professor's house from where they stood. It was a bit distanced, but relatively straight just as Hop stated...that would be there goal point. She pondered a moment and nodded.

"All right, you're on!" she grinned.

"Wicked!" said Hop, "Then on three, are you ready?"

"ready." she said.

"THREE!" and he was off, leaving her in a huff.

Of COURSE he wouldn't actually count...

She sighed.

What was I expecting anyway!?

She laughed.

"Beeeeh~!"

"Floofy, shh!" Aanya tried to hush her Wooloo while trying to sneak up on an unsuspecting Rookidee. Though, a lot of good that did...

It heard them crystal clear.

"Uh-Oh," Aanya gulped as the bird Poke'mon came charging at her, "Now you did it floofy!" she yelped, dodging and weeving around as Rookidee hopped and flew around her. It was making her dizzy and at this point she wasn't even paying attention to where she was moving, as she was trying to out-speed it.

"Beeeh~!" Floofy bleated desperately trying to avoid the Poke'mon's sharp beak "All right, we've no choice!" said Aanya, "My goal was to catch you anyway," she smirked, "Floofy, go! use tackle!"

"Beeeh!" Floofy bleated and rolled on in for a direct hit. A tackle from a Wooloo was no easy feat...the small bird Poke'mon was stunned.

"Now's my chance-" said Aanya tossing a fast Poke'ball.

It landed with a metalic bounce and wiggled about a few times before she heard the satisfaction of the ding.

"All right!" she beamed leaping for joy-"

Bzzt Bzzt

"Rookidee. The Tiny Bird Poke'mon."

"Huh?" Aanya blinked as she reached into her pocket to pull out her Rotom Phone which was now in Dexter mode.

"By nimbly hopping about, this small-bodied Poke'mon takes advantage of every slightest opportunity to disorient larger opponents."

"Oh Wicked." Aanya blinked, "I guess every catch I make gets automatically locked in..." she smiled and held the ball in her hand.

"I can't believe I caught this one all by myself..." she said squealing and giggling, "I can't wait to tell Hop about it-"

"Tell me about what, mate?"

"Ahhh!" Aanya let out a yelp as Hop appeared seemingly out of no where, accompanied by Leon. Looking around she began to realize...

"Oh...I'm already here..." she blinked.

Hop laughed.

"Congrats mate, you made it." he grinned.

"Sure beats when I first tried to come here on my own..." Leon muttered, "I got lost on the way..." he chuckled.

"And look you made it here...and even managed to beat me here as well!" said Hop, "You're getting better about it I think~" he snickered. A door behind them startled them as they turned to be met with an older woman in a lab Coat.

"Oi, look! it's the Professor!" said Hop.

"Dear me..." the woman blinked, "I didn't realize I had guests."

"Heya Professor Magnolia." Hop grinned and the woman smiled back.

"Welcome, younf Trainers." she said, "Young Hop and..."

"Aanya~" he said pushing the blue haired girl a bit forward.

"...So I see." Magnolia chuckled, "Well come along then...let's hold our conversation indoors, hm?"

XXXXX

"Why, Hop, dear, I see Wooloo has made some new frinds." Magnolia chuckled as she prepared tea for the group.

"Hop's Wooloo isn't the only one who's made some new frinds...am I right, Aanya?" Leon snickered.

Hop blushed.

"Oi, what are you tryin' to say lee?" he asked, "Stop it!"

Magnolia chuckled.

Professor Magnolia was known for her research into the Dynamax Phenomenon...which was familiar and unique only to the Galar Region.

"There you go, Lee, talking about Poke'mon again." Magnolia chuckled as Leon explained her role in the Galar Region to Hop and Aanya.

"There are other things worth knowing about too, you know." she stated, "Like how many different types of tea there are!"

"Oi, Professor...I'm sorry to interrupt but...I was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing us a favor?"

"Oh? A Favor? For you and Aanya?" she blinked, "What sort of favor would that be, dear?" she wondered.

"Help me convince Lee that he should endorse us for the Gym Challenge!" said Hop, followed by a gasp from Leon.

"What!?" he blinked, "Endorse BOTH of you?" he questioned, "You AND Aanya!?"

"Oh Leon...Why wouldn't you endorse them?" Magnolia wondered.

Leon sighed with arms folded.

"Hop only JUST started as a Poke'mon Trainer...a-and Aanya isn't my perrogative!" he said waving his hands, "I like the girl plenty but I'm not responsible for her- she has her own mother to convince and-"

"So you can talk to Aanya's mum again, couldn't you!?" said Hop.

"What!?" Leon blinked.

"It worked before, yeah?"

"That doesn't mean it's going to work EVERY time, Hop..." Leon sighed.

"My dear, wasn't it your dream for everyone in Galar to become strong trainers?" asked Magnolia.

"Well yeah...you're not wrong there..." he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, "That goal is precisely why I gave them both Poke'mon in the first place...Hmm..."

"Right then, how about this!?" said Hop, demanding the attention of his older brother, "Aanya and I will display a magnificent battle for you!" said Hop.

"What!?" Aanya gasped. Now this wasn't something she was expecting at all-However it definitely caught Leon's interest, "We'll make it so brilliant, that you'll have no choice but to endorse us then!"

"Hmmm..." Leon pondered as he scratched at his facial hair, "Well...to be part of the Gym Challenge would mean you would have to face many strong Trainers to earn your place in the competition..." he stated and shot a glance to Aanya and smiled.

"Very well." he stated, "If you two can show me a brilliant battle-I'll write you that endorsement then!" he grinned.

"All right!" Hop grinned, "You heard him, Aan!" he spoke with a fier in his eyes.

"W-Well...yeah, but..." she gulped.

But on another hand...this could be the best chance she had...

Calming her nerves she took a deep breath and her vibrant eyes shined, "Right then!" she stated.

"Good!" said Hop, "Then I will be waiting outside!"
