Love Doesn't Sit Still

A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Galar region and games (Sword/Shield) featuring CanonXOC It is based on the GAMES not the anime/manga. And to clarify confusion (because I know I have written multiple fic based on these games XD ) This is a completely different and separate story from the other Sword/Shield fics I have written. They are not connected and they do not interract.
The sun was setting as Aanya was preparing her Poke'mon.
All right...this is going to be my first Poke'mon battle ever...
She thought to herself.
...And it's going to be with Hop...
She had to stop and think to herself for a while.
Well...I suppose there are worse people to have a first time with...
She thought.
Besides...all hop ever thinks about is Poke'mon and competitions...
This time...
He will have no choice BUT to look at me!
Hop was waiting for her on the battle field just outside the Professor's home, and soon Professor Magnolia joined them.
"I'm quite interested in seeing these two young Trainers battle it out as well..." Magnolia chuckled.
After a few deep braths, Aanya soon made her way to the field and shared a look of determination with Hop, who at this moment, now stood as her rival.
"Well lookit you~!" he grinned, "Now that's a look I like to see in my rival~" he grinned, "We may be mates, but right now, we stand as enemies...at least for the moment." he chuckled, "I...want you to stay, Aanya." he said to her, "Right now, this is the best chance I see of making that a possibility." he stated.
Aanya's eyes widened as she listened.
"I plan to become the greatest trainer there ever was." Hop declared, "And I want you with me on that Jorney, Aan~" he grinned, "Fighting along side me, and against me, helping to make each other stronger, and me even better!" he beamed, and against the light of the setting sun, he looked to be glowing.
"Hop..." she said softly.
"However in order to have even the slightest chance of making that a possibility, then we need that endorsement!" he said to her, "So come at me, Aanya...with everything you got!" he grinned and gripped his Poke'ball tight.
Aanya was stunned. Lost for words she didn't know how to respond.
"Crimey, Hop..." Leon blinked. He seemed to share Aanya's astonishment. "That's about as straight as it comes, isn't it?" he chuckled, "Well, what do you say, dove?' he asked, focusing his attention on Aanya, "Are you ready to face Hop in a no holds barred battle?"
There was a silence between them for a moment while she scanned the area, scanned Hop and scanned the Poke'balls in her hands before giving a firm nod.
"Of course!" she said strongly.
"Well...all right then..."Leon chuckled, "BEGIN!"
"GO!"
Aanya and Hop both called at the same time and sent out their first Poke'mon.
"Beeeeeeehhhh~!"
Two equally determined bleats cried in battle and Leon had to stifle a chuckle while Hop and Aanya just stared at each other with a stunned expression.
"HaHa Well...I can see you and that Wooloo I caught for you way back when have come a long way together, huh?" he chuckled.
"That's true." said Aanya, "Floofy and I owe a lot of that to you." she smiled.
"Indeed?" he chuckled, "But my Wooloo and I have been together a lot longer...We've got this!" he grinned, "Roll in with Tackle, Wooloo! Go!"
"You be sure to do the same Floofy! Counter for Counter, let's go!"
"Beeeehh~!"
The male and female bleated together, rolling in against each other repeatedly. But in the end...Aanya's Wooloo hit harder.
"Wooloo is unable to battle!" said Leon, "The winners of this round are Aanya and...Wooloo..." he snickered.
"Her name is Floofy!" Aanya and Hop stated together.
"Baah! Nicely done, mate!" said Hop as he retrieved his Wooloo and Aanya did the same, "This here is a new partner to my team." he beamed, "I caught it during our race here! Which I won by the way." he laughed.
"I caught a new one too!" Aanya beamed, "My first one! All by myself!" she giggled as she pulled out her fresh new partner, "I couldn't wait to tell you about it!"
"Well let's see it then!" Beamed Leon, "Sounds Ace!"
"GO!" they called together. and once again two identical Poke'mon cried. This time, Leon couldn't maintain his laughter as the two just stared at each other with blank expressions.
"...So...you caught a Rookidee too, huh?" Hop asked.
"...her name is Blakk." said Aanya.
"There aren't too many Poke'monj that live between Potswick and Route 2 Hop..." Leon chuckled, "It's not too strange that you two would have caught similar Poke'mon."
"Yeah...I suppose that's true." Hop chuckled awkwardly, "But I'm STILL not losing!"
"Rookidee is unable to battle!" called out Leon as Hop's little bird collapsed in a tizzy after having had another heated bouts of pecking and wing beats, "The winners are Aanya, and...Rookidee." he snorted.
"Her name is Blakk!" Aanya huffed, "See? this is why I NAME my Poke'mon.
"Still...Blakk is a bit of an off name, isn't it?" asked Hop as he called back his Rookidee, "Pretty sure its dominat color is Blue, mate."
"Her name is Blakk and that's that!" Aanya huffed calling in her new partner while Hop laughed.
"Right! Got it!" he chuckled, "I can't believe I'm down to my last partner already..." he said softly, "It will be a close one...but that's my sort of match!" he smirked, "Get a load of our true power!" he stated, "Our flames are burning bright-Red hot passion coming at ya!" he grinned and threw out his Scorbunny.
"All right...it's all on you, Sobby." She said, as she threw out her Sobble. It was a battle of Type advantages...
Though while Aanya had the type advantage- her Sobble didn't get away without a few burns. It was a heated match of water and fire creating lots of steam as a result. Fitting really, to the end.
"And that's the match!" called Leon. "Without anymore usable Poke'mon, Hop is no longer able to battle-so Aanya wins!"
"Oof...and I even got my Poke'ball throw perfect too..."Hop slumped, "But...defeat abd victory...both of these are key to us getting stronger, yeah?" Hop grinned.
"...I won..."The girl blinked in shock.
I can't believe I won...
She thought to herself.
I beat Hop!
The feelings she felt inside were inexplicable...but something stirred within her...and it was stronger than even her...and only made her want to stay even more...
Stay in Galar...
Stay with Hop...
And stay in this competition...
"Well...Hop...and Anya both...I'm floored." leon chuckled, "After a match like that one, I've really little choice BUT to endorse you now...as Champion."
"Yesssss~ ! Thanks Lee!" Hop grinned, "I swear I am going to win my way through this Gym Challenge to reach you!" he statedm "Oh-And you will talk to Aanya's mum, yeah!?"
As Leon handed a letter to Aanya as well he pondered a bit, "I can give you this endorsement at least that states you should compete..." he saif to her, "But I'm afraid that's as far as I can go. I will certainly have a chat with her...but I can't promise you her answer." he blinked, "The convincing also has to be shared by you." he winked.
Aanya nodded.
"I understand." she said softly, "Thank you so much, leon." she said to him, "For everything you have done so far!"
Leon flashed her a smile before running a hand through his hair once again.
"Though at this point with as much as Hop is relying on me to change her mum's mind...Aanya may as well start calling me Papa~" he joked.
Aanya and Hop both gasped and exchanged an awkward glance with each other, before Aanya broke the silence between them with:
"I am NOT calling you Uncle!" she huffed and Hop burst into laughter.
"Aww, why not!?" he said between wheezes, " I'd spoil you rotten~ Uncle Hop I quite fancy the ring of it, yeah!?" he laughed harder.
"Yeah well...you do that just fine as a boy instead..." she mumbled blushing.
"I beg your pardon!?" Hop blushed, "I'm a man!" he huffed.
"okay, Hop." chuckled Leon.
"Huh!? What's that!?" Hop gasped as a flash of red filled the sky and began falling.
"Hey...that's just like what I saw the other night..." she said to him.
What did Hop call them?
Wishing Stars?
Following Hop to the pint og landing right near the Professor's home, Hop blinked and gasped softly.
"Aan, would you look at this?" he asked, "These are Wishing Stars!" he grinned, "Here..two of them fell this time...so..." he smiled, gently taking her hand his and placing a piece in her palm before folding her fingers over it and giving her hand a squeeze in both of his fans, "Let's wish on these together, okay?" he beamed.
"Trust you to pull such a thing like that off, Hop." Leon chuckled, "Those are for Dynamaxing you know! But..." he blinked, "They do say that Wishing Stars fall for those who have a true wish in their heart..."
"I will be the greatest Trainer, ever!" Hop stated to the sky, "...And Aanya WILL STAY!" he grinned, thrusting his fist up with the Wishing Star tightly clenched against his palm, leaving the bluenette a blushing mess. Though he didn't notice...since he wasn't looking.
"There! I have said my wish upon the Wishing Star." he stated, "Surely it will come true now, yeah?" he beamed.
Wishing Stars were composed of a curious sort of power...and one of the most precious resources in Galar. Aanya smiled, gazing down upon the fallen stone that now rested in her palm... While Hop may have wished upon the rock with all his might...Aanya had her own wish in her heart. Thinking back on everything that she and Hop had done for her since they day she arrived...from becoming her very first friend, to catching her very first Poke'mon for her...
She wished for many more "firsts" with Hop to come...
