Like A Dream...

A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Alola region and games (Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon) featuring CanonXOC . It is based on the GAMES and NOT on the anime.

It was intense...

She couldn't breathe...

She was running?

No...it wasn't her...

There was a girl, pale and pure as the new snow her hair was platinum...eyes wide, and chartreuse, and terrified. Who was she running from? The entire scene was bathed in white, including the clothes this girl wore. She seemed to be protecting something important that she kept in a duffle...

Whatever it was they wanted it...and they surrounded her. And just when she thought she had no way out...she was suddenly bathed in light and warped away toward the moon-

"AHHH!" Luna gasped from her nightmare. Upon arriving in Alola, She stumbled upon a strange article of a strange place involved in a rather more strange coincidence, and she had been having odd dreams ever since.

Who is that girl!?

She wondered to herself.

And why do I keep dreaming about her?

"Ahhhh...could anything be more soothing?" Luna could hear her mother basking in the warm tropical night, "Our first evening spent under Alola's calm moon!" she hummed, "I feel like I could stay out here all night..." she sighed, "Unfortunately I still have more boxes to unpack." she blinked, "Luna? Are you awake?"

"I wish I wasn't..." she called back, "though with the weird dream I keep having I suppose I'm rather glad that I am..." she mumbled to herself releasing a sigh before meeting with her mother.

"You were out like a light, weren't you?" her mother chuckled, "You ought to be full of energy now, "Even though it's already into the night here..." she blinked, "It truly is the opposite of Kanto isn't it?" she hummed with a smile," Yeah...I think Alola will be the perfect place for us to start our new life..."

"If you say so..." Luna mumbled, eyes gazed upward to the night sky through the window. Eversince they arrived, something has just felt...off...to her. Like she was being watched...or lured...and then there were those strange dreams as well...

"You know Luna, it tends to help with travel lag if you walk around the area of destination for s bit." her mother said softly patting her daughters head, "Now that you're up...why not wander around outside for a while, hm?" she blinked, "But don't go too far...it is still night time after all."

"Yeah...all right." she said softly. the girl tried to muster a smile. She didn't want to worry her mother... after kicking on her shoes, she took to the area just outside of her house...

It was a whole new world outside those walls...

The house wasn't very big, but it was a nice little home big enough to be comfortable for two...the island they stayed on however wasn't as small as it looked so far away. And the sky was lit up with stars. Abundance of twinkling lights shooting wishes across the night sky.

"...Breath taking..." she whispered, and indeed it truly was. Lost in her own world, she paid no attention to where she wandered, keeping her eyes only at the sky as she moved, needless to say she was startled when a wild yoongoos attacked her from the tall grass.

What do I do!?

She asked herself.

I don't have my own poke'mon anymore...!

Every poke'mon she and her mother ever owned were taken and sold off by her father. She didn't want to hurt it...but she needed to defend herself...! As she searched desperately for something to shoe it away, three other poke'mon came to her rescue...much to her relief, she sighed as the invader dashed off back into the grass once again...

"Thank you..." she saif to them kneeling down to their level, "But where did you come from?"

"Alola, cousin!" a familiar male voice called to her from a distance behind her and she turned toward a man running toward her, "Are you all right?" he asked. The white lab coat he wore was a dead give away.

"Professor Kukui?" she blinked and hurried over to meet him. His eyes widened behind his shades as he blinked with familiarity.

"Hang on, I know you, yeah?" he blinked, "Yes, you're Lunarianne Rose...you and your mother Starlotte just moved here to Alola, no?"

Luna was impressed. He came off a bit flighty...but it seemed he wasn't as dimwitted as he seemed to act.

"Yes...that's right." she said softly, "It's nice to offically meet you in person rather than over a video monitor."

"HaHaHa. Like wise, yeah!" Kukui grinned, "Thopugh I wasn't expecting to see you until the morning." he stated, "that was when you were supposed to meet them too but...I guess they decided upon themselves." She blinked and glanced back at her three Poke'mon rescuers...

One looked to be a kitten...another an egg pudged owl, and the third of course was a young blue seal like creature.

"I see." she said softly, "So these are starters in Alola, huh?" she asked. She knew of Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle...and only ever seemed other species in articles or telivision casts of other regions. She knew some...but definitely not about all Poke'mon. She smiled.

"I was just thanking them." she said to him.

"HaHa, good on you, cousin." he grinned, "I'm happy they were able to help you in time." he smiled, "Meanwhile we're getting a bit ahead of ourselves aren't we? HaHaHa. Welcome to the Alola region." he said to her, offering a hand to shake which she took gradually, "Here...allow mw to introduce the Poke'mon that helped you out just now." Kukui smiled, and started with the potato bird, "This here is Rowlet, the grass type." he stated, "In the middle there we have the fiery kitten~ Litten!" he beamed, "And over there...the playful watery Poplio." he smiled, "These are the starter options we offer to new trainers in Alola."

"I see." Luna blinked, "So it's similar to Kanto here in that aspect."

"Haha it seems you know a bit about Poke'mon, yeah?"

"I used to have some back home..."

"Oh?"

Kukui's natural curiosity peeked through...but by reading the look of pain on her face, he thought it best not to press forward. He did hear that she and her mother were coming from a rather rough patch...though he didn't know all of the details...just that her daughter had not been the same ever since. A look of tenderness curled his lips as he spoke to her in a gentle tone.

"Why not...choose one of your own, yeah?" he smiled.

"Really?" she blinked curiosly.

Kukui nodded.

"It's a gift from our island Kahuna but...I don't see the harm in receiving yours a day early." he grinned, "Iki town is not far from here, why not journey up this hill and meet him together to express your thanks.

Luna didn't know how to respond to this...

it was an odd wave of kindness. Would these people here really just give her a Poke'mon without knowing her story...?

Not that what happened was her fault in anyway...but it didn't make it any less worrisome...she almost shyed away from the idea- but a light head bump from Poplio seemed to soften her.

"Look at that!?" Kukui beamed, "It seems one has chosen you!" he chuckled. The small poke'mon began putting up a show, clapping its flippers and blowing balloons around...

it seemed to be trying to cheer her up...and it worked a little. a small smile crept on her lips as she kneeled.

"Well that is...if you truly want to..."

"Plio!" it didn't take long for a response.

"Pleo, huh?" she chuckled and placed a palm to its forhead while it nuzzled back affectionately.

Perhaps this time...

...I can do it right...
