A/N: This Fan Fiction is based on the Galar region and games (Sword/Shield) featuring CanonXOC It is based on the GAMES not the anime/manga. And to clarify confusion (because I know I have written multiple fic based on these games XD ) This is a completely different and separate story from the other Sword/Shield fics I have written. They are not connected and they do not interract.
"Wooloo...?" Nouii called out through the mist between the trees, "Wooloo, where are you?" she sighed.
"KeKe..." her Grookey chirped nervously as she wandered deeper and deeper into the woods, clingling tightly to its new trainer's shoulder.
"How far could it have possibly gone?" she couldn't help but wonder, as she glanced around her surroundings, "The fog is rolling in thick...If I don't find it soon...it might be in real trouble."
She stop as she took one more look around her. She had gone so far in now, she could no longer even see the entrance to The Slumbering Weald that she had come through to begin with.
I might be in real trouble too...if I don't get out of here soon...
She thought to herself.
Maybe I should just go back...and explain everything to Leon...
She gulped.
But then...maybe he's still mad at me...and he will just get any more angry finding out that I came in here anyway...after he very clearly told me not to...
She whimpered and croched down in place.
"Keke..." Her Grookey chirped as it gently pat at her head..but it did little to no good.
What should I do...?
She wondered.
Why do I always ruin everything...?
"Nouii? Nouii are you in here?"
"Hop?" Nouii blinked questionably and gasped as the familiar neighbor boy made his appearance through the mist.
"Nouii, thank goodness!" he heaved a heavy sigh of relief as threw himself around the unsuspecting Alolan Girl.
"Are you mad!?" he huffed, "What are you doing in here!? The Slumbering Weald is off limits, Lee will go spare if he finds you wandering about- he and your mum are worried sick! And me too, for that matter!"
"I know, I'm sorry..." Nouii began whimpering and sniffling and an audible gasp could be heard from Hop.
"Ahh...N-Nouii h-hey..." he stammered unsure of what to do, "N-No need for tears mate come now..." he gently pat her.
"I'm sorry...I always do this..." she sniffed, "I always ruin everything-"
"What?" Hop blinked, "Nouii, you didn't ruin anything...what are you going on about?"
"I-I've angered him" she sniffled, "I didn't mean to- I didn't know-"
"What!?" Hop blinked, "Oi, hey hey..." he pat the girl's shukder, "Aye he's spare with worry but I wouldn't say you've angered him in the slightest." he stated, "I'm sure once you've explaine dyourself to him about why you're running about in here, you two can talk it out and all will be well, yeah?" he saod softly, "My bro's a good guy, he'll listen if you just tell him why you came in here in the first place..."
He couldn't think of anything more than to hold the girl who now trembled in his arms.
Crimey...is she realy this stricken with grief that she thinks she angered Lee so much?
He wondered to himself.
Makes me curious on just what sort of experiences she's had before with situations like this...
His eyes narrowed.
Though I don't think now is the time to ask about it...
he blinked.
"Say, Nouii...if you don't mind me asking..." he blinked a few times as he tried to piece the situation together, "...Why did you wander in here? Didn't Lee tell you it was off limits?" he stated, "I remember the Professor's granddaughter wandered in here once...and she came out in such a state..."
"yes...he did say something to me..." she sniffled, "b-but I swear, I have a valid reason-"
"Oh, aye?" Hop blinked, "Well, let's hear it then." he plopped himself right next to her and waited patiently. Both ears were open and he showed no sign of letting the matter go. She blinked a few times ceriously.
He'll listen...?
This was new to her...
"Well?"
"Oh...right..." she rubbed her eyes, "You see there was a this Wooloo...it was tacking the fencing pretty hard." she started to explain, :And...it wound up breaking it and wandered off in here."
"I see..." Hop blinked, "Well then, that explains the broken fencing."
At least now Leon can rest easy knowing that it wasn't Nouii trying to be rebelious...
"Please continue."
"Right so...I figured...it couldn't have gone too far...so I thought I could find it and catch it." she stated, "That way it won't cause any more trouble...or wind up getting itself into trouble...if the Poke'mon in here are as big and scary as Leon proclaimed..."
"I see." said hop smiled as he let loose a sigh of relief, "See? That's a perfectly reasonable explaination!" he stated, "Once you clear it all up with Lee, then surely he'll understand!" he grinned, "Only...he blinked and shifted his eyes around.
"What is it?" she wondered.
"Lee." he stated, "I could have sworn he followed me in..." he pondered, "I must have lost him along the way...W-We should back track and-"
Just then, the piercing cry of a bleating Poke'mon echoed through the falling mist, startling the both of them. Nouii's Grookey quickly scurried away and draped itself beneath her long lavender colored hair whimpering softly by her ear.
"It's okay Drum Stixx, I'm here..." she said softly trying to calm it.
"Did you hear that!?" asked Hop.
"That was a Poke'mon crying out, I think..." she said softly.
"Aye..." said Hop, "And from the sound of it...it's massive." a nervous sweat drop trickled down his olive skin.
"What should we do then, Hop?" Nouii questioned him with pleading golden eyes, "Should we leave...and go find Leon?"
He was silent for a moment...
That sounded like a good idea...but they also had to consider the circumstances.
"I know it's what we should do..." he said softly, "But to do that might take up some time...and from what I gather...time isn't something we have a whole lot of at the current moment." he stated.
"So then, what do you suggest?" she asked, and he took her hand in his.
"You and I are here now mate." he stated, "I say we go in and rescue that Wooloo together. Surely if we work together we will be a lot harder to beat, what do you say!?"
She looked at him with widened eyes...but really, there was only one possible answer she could give.
"Let's do it!" she said with a firm nod.
"All right then." said Hop, "Whatever you do, don't let go of my hand, got it?" he said to her, "No matter what- We stay together! As my new role as your new big step bro, What I say goes from here!"
"Right." she nodded again and smiled, before shaking into the realization of what he just said.
"Excuse me!?" she huffed, "Who on earth decided you were the big bro!?" she asked with a cocked a brow.
"Me, I decided it~" he grinned.
"We're the same age, aren't we!?" she huffed, "How can you even know which one of us is older!?" she blinked, "And besides that- technically you're supposed to be my uncle-"
"Noooo we're not going with that one!" laughed Hop before exchanging a grin with her,"Right then...let's go!"
Together they were off, deeper and deeper into the growing mist.
Eventually they reached a clearing...though one would never have been able to guess that with how thick the fog was surrounding them. The only thing they gave it away was the sound of deafening silence...
"This is mad..." said Hop, "I can't even see my own hand in front of my face..." he sighed, "I think I am beginning to under stand now why this place is off-limits..."
"More than that..." said Nouii as he grip tightened in Hop's hand, "...I can't hear a thing...where did that Wooloo go?"
"Good question..." Hop said softly. They shifted their gaze around them but still could see nothing through the mist... Then...as silent as the area around them...it appeared.
"Hop!" Nouii let out a yelp as a massive beast of a Wolf appeared before them.
"What in the!?" Hop gasped, "What is that!? Is it a Poke'mon!?"
With a mighty roar the beast pounced, and the two were forced to split apart from each other.
"Scorbunny, Go!" Hop called out, "Use your tackle Attack!" he demanded.
The bunny came charging at the large creature, but it must have missed. Because it continued flying forward until it wound up smacking itself into a tree.
"Scorbunny!" Hop cried out and ran to its aide.
What on earth happened!?
That was a direct hit!
Nouii thought to herself before shifting her gaze back to the wolf-like creature.
Did Scorbunny just...pass THROUGH it somehow!?
It soon shifted its glare towards Hop and Scorbunny behind it and began to turn to them and Nouii gasped.
"Hop, Look out!" she called out.
"What?" the boy glanced back and gasped once he saw the creature begin to move toward him.
"Hurry Drum Stixx, use Branch Poke!" she commanded. Much to her fear, the attack had no effect.
Nouii gasped.
"Hop...I think our attacks just go straight through it!" she stated.
"They what!?" Hop blinked, "That's utter nonsense- AHHH!" he let out a yelp when the massive dog took a pounce for him and the weakened Scorbunny in his arms.
"HOP!" she called his name and hurried to throw herself infront of him between he and the massive beast. Hop's hazel eyes widened while her Grookey's screeching echoed out and the last thing he recalled doing was shouting her name-
"No, NOUII!"
Into the misty fog before everything suddenly faded to black...
